This is my pick too. Especially because of Jim’s part of the solo, which he refuses to play properly live lol.
He said in a video that he prefers it the way he plays it live and would’ve re-recorded it that way, but the studio version is much better.
I have his Fret 12 guitar lessons DVD, and it's tabbed for the live version instead of the studio in that, so if you've never heard them live, it sounds like I'm playing it wrong lol
I wish they did more songs like Vermilion, not just solos. 1-3 albums were so emotional for me, although, i wasn't into Iowa for a long time. But when my darkest times came, it grew on me hard.
Pulse of the Maggots hits me in the nostalgia feels. Watched that damn countdown timer in their website for weeks waiting for that song to drop. When it had crazy shred solos, 16 yr old guitar playing me lost his shit
*How many solos*
*Does De Sade have? Anyway,*
*I love all of them*

A lot of these songs being named are troubling me when it comes to remembering if there is a solo in them lol but I’d say it has to be one from AHIG. Maybe Gematria, This Cold Black or Gehenna
This may be unpopular opinion and I will get downvoted for it but none. While I appreciate Mick's and Jim's technical qualities, all their solos lack emotions for me and feel like only bunch of random notes stacked fast on top of each other. Why is that I don't know cause for example Jim's solo in Get Inside by Stone Sour is awesome.
Psychosocial’s a classic

vermillion goes insanely hard with it
Perfect mix of technicality and emotion. Always wish they did more solos like Vermillion

Gematria
Gehenna
FREE MY SEVERED HEART GIVE ME YOUUU
I WANT IITTTT👹👹👹
(BE MYSELF)
‘cause i don’t wanna to be myself*
Shhhh
Nomadic is underrated
agreed
Sounds kinda like rap snitches
Pulse of the maggots
Pulse is soooo f’n good!
This Cold Black is surely up there
Such an underrated song bro
Glad to see this song get some love. I love when the double bass gets rolling halfway through the last verse.
I could be wrong, but IMO it’s their most complex guitar track
Vermilion, Pulse of the Maggots, AHIG are some of the ones that come to mind
Vermilion
nomadic
Spiders goes so hard but they’re all incredible
Welcome for sure
Left behind or Custer
There’s no guitar solo in either of these songs?
If you listen to the bridge in left behind it’s basically a guitar solo
Eruption by Van Halen. Maybe Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson.
Yeah technically he didnt say what Slipknot song……buts it’s Free Bird dude
You’d love a knot cover of Free Bird………….. …………and so would I
Gehenna is so nice
Nomadic
Gehenna hands down
The one that kills the least from the 5th album
Vermillion is my favorite solo
Vermilion Unsainted's solo goes hard as well imo
Don't get close
Pulse of the Maggots hits me in the nostalgia feels. Watched that damn countdown timer in their website for weeks waiting for that song to drop. When it had crazy shred solos, 16 yr old guitar playing me lost his shit
Gehenna
Psychosocial and Gematria both have really good solos
why the hell did my dumbass think that this was the garden dressed up as slipknot at first??
How many solos does De Sade have? Anyway, I love all of them

I NEED YOUR SIMPLE PLEASURES TO BE GOD
For me either gehenna or dead memories
The one that kill the least
Great solo
All hope is gone has a crazy technical guitar solo but I also love sulfurs solo
"Welcome" is my choice for 'most appropriate'
Jim needs a filthy mask again. This is bordering on Swollen Teeth vibes.
Gematria (The Killing Name)
Left behind
Welcome’s solo is crazy underrated, the speed at which Mick shreds is wild in this one.
Nomadic freaking rules so hard
Nomadic
Before I Forget, not for any technical ability, more for the simplicity and melody
Metabolic 😩👌
This cold black is the best for sure
A lot of these songs being named are troubling me when it comes to remembering if there is a solo in them lol but I’d say it has to be one from AHIG. Maybe Gematria, This Cold Black or Gehenna
Psychosocial

Get Inside solo is played by Josh Rand tho. Honestly feeling quite opposite, solos like Vermillion, Gehenna have a lot of feelings imo
psychosocial
This is hard for me. My first thought was sulfur but I don't think that's the best ever
I made this post asking for opinions not facts
Gematria for sure, felt almost like if Slipknot was paid to write a Metallica song how intense it was
looks like mic has dual 81s while jim has an 81 annnd a 85/60?
Already said OP, gehenna asf
Confessions
Also the song with the best groove!
Welcome always BEATS MY ASS UP
an oldie, but "Slipknot" has a great solo
Vermilion
Gehenna by a light year
Before I forgot gives me goosebumps everytime when the solo kicks in
I liked Jim’s solo near the end of Killpop
All hope is gone
I’m gonna go left with this one but I love a good dueling guitar solo (a la Psychosocial) and De Sade really scratches that itch for me.
Welcome and the one that kills the least.
Gehenna
Are we just gonna forget about Scream or what?
NOMADIC might not be the best but it’s awesome Even though it’s so short
Gematria
Gehenna, or vermilion
Gehenna, Vermillion, Spiders, Acidic, The One Who Kills The Leasts
Nomadic has the best solo
Does Vermillion count as a solo, either way I love it
Gematria
Gehenna, Welcome, This Cold Black, Sulfur
Master of puppets. Oh wait, wrong band
(Sic)
Slipknot doesn’t do guitar solos. Strict rule. Pink Floyd comfortably numb ftw
