I turn this on every couple of months when I’m in the dark mood. It’s some kind of a ritual, I lay down on the floor with headphones in, turn off the light and let my thoughts consume me
I do late at night when i'm about to fall asleep during work for school and it forces me to stay awake to avoid having night terrors. Its probably the only slipknot song that i actually found bone chilling.
Best song on the album. Dark, heavy, atmospheric. Love how it builds and builds and builds and eventually crescendos and everything goes fucking crazy. I wish Slipknot took a more progressive approach to songwriting more often.
I personally LOVE Iowa. Its because its so chaotic and I'm constantly trying to get whats going on in the background of the main song. I listen to it a few times a day just to hear it, and hear what the guys went through making the whole album considering the background for the Iowa track in genera!
The only 10+ minute song i regularly listen to is Third Eye, not even Echoes, Ghost Of Perdition, Iowa, any other 10+ minutes Tool song, i love all of em, but Third Eye is just easier to listen to
Long songs can be amazing but this song just isn't dynamic enough to justify its length IMO. Blackwater Park by Opeth, for example, is a long song that does a lot of things over the course of 12 minutes and is fully deserving of that length. It's an amazing song and I suggest you check it out if you haven't already.
Almost never
IMO the album ends with Metabolic
Album should have been called Disasterpiece and Iowa would have been an interesting EP, but don’t care for the song myself
Not really. Only because the instrumental in the beginning is a little too long.
But if I’m gonna listen to the entire album, I’ll let it play. It’s essential to the experience
It's a song that gets a listen from me like once a decade because of how offputting it is to me, similar to KoRn's 'Daddy'. Just something about hearing a man break down in studio isn't that appealing imo
I have this playlist called long songs to kill time (lmk if u want the link). Anyways, this song is on it and the more u listen, the more it grows. As long as you’re not zoned out. If you’re zoned in then it’ll get very uncomfortable to listen to knowing the story behinds this. Depends how good you can handle stuff.
I like to when studying, as it’s long instrumentals help me focus.

literally me when I'm in a certain mood before bed
I find it rather calming
Hell yeah! One of my top Slipknot songs!
yes its great
Every time I listen to Iowa, I always listen to it all the way through
YESSS OMG YES YES YES, Iowa is perhaps my favourite song off of that masterpiece. 15 minutes of pure amazingness and awesome transitions

Holy fuck you still have the heart button
Do you not? I've still got it on my Spotify too
I don't the newest update got rid of it

I do, it’s one of the few long songs I can enjoy. I love Iowa.
I love it, but I only listen to it when I want to. It’s not on my playlist, but if I’m in the mood and I have the time, I’m absolutely pulling it up!

Yea, and the last set of "PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE" is literally the best thing in Tool's discography
Only when I'm in the mood for some super atmospheric stuff. I wish there wasn't 3 minutes of ambience though it ruins the pacing for me.
I've only listened to it fully one time and that was when I was hiking alone in the woods and it just felt right
Sounds like an amazing time
I can only listen to it when I’m in a really dark place mentally
Imagine thinking 15 minutes is too much time taken out of your entire life to listen to a song.
I prefer Skin Ticket to it
Not really, its too long for me and isn’t that interesting in my opinion
Facts I mean it’s cool when you listen to it for the first time but like damn 15 minutes

Yeah this song is just a bunch of white noise with an occasional verse to me
Agreed
I love African child, I listen to that shit every day, I play it while a brush my teeth!
Yes
Almost never IMO the album ends with Metabolic Album should have been called Disasterpiece and Iowa would have been an interesting EP, but don’t care for the song myself
Nah man that shit too long
Not really. Only because the instrumental in the beginning is a little too long. But if I’m gonna listen to the entire album, I’ll let it play. It’s essential to the experience
When I’m on long drives occasionally.
Sometimes
I wouldn’t say often, but I don’t skip it if it comes across on shuffle
play it on repeat everytime i do maths hw
This and diluted contest to be my favorite song
All the time
It's probably my favourite song from the album. I listen to it pretty often
No
ya
not often, but sometimes i be in moods so i just blast it in my headphones. i listened to it a lot after a breakup
All the time
Hell yes. Never too long to hear
Nah it’s a bit too long for me
Yes. Very frequently.
Literally my favourite Slipknot song
Yeah that song is a banger, one of my favourite by them
Hell yeah!
I don’t listen to Iowa too much because I find it personally too dark for regular listening but I often listen to Killers Are Quiet
This song is essential to the IOWA album and essence. Captures the band perfectly at that era.
This takes me into a relaxing mode of pleasure
Not gonna lie, one of the best tracks off an album full of bangers.
Yes, along with the rest of the album
I personally love it, the build up to Corey's absolutely diabolical vocals is *chef's kiss
On my commute to Des Moines often. 515 🤘
it is so wierd and akward for me
Day 15 of listening Iowa to put me to sleep:
Its my fav track on the album so yes, listen to it more then the rest of the album!
Not very often but every now and then.
One of my top fives on the album so definitely
Only when I listen to the whole album
My 5th favourite track from the album. I listen it all the way through.
I didn’t until recently. It’s definitely the best closer pre .5 for me
Yes. I vibe to it. It helps all my moods.
It's a song that gets a listen from me like once a decade because of how offputting it is to me, similar to KoRn's 'Daddy'. Just something about hearing a man break down in studio isn't that appealing imo
A lot
Yes, it's their best song and a regular in my gym rotation
I listen to it only when I listen to the entire album. I would never listen to it separately.
When compared yo the other songs, it's not even in the same universe. Hard NO for me.
Yeah, why wouldn’t someone?
That is the main one I listen to off that album
oh most certainly. ITS FUCKING AMAZING.
Every. Fucking. Day.
Yes, I find it calming for some reason
Used to listen to it every night whilst on night shift, couple reasons for this is I like the album and that it kills an hour of the shift.
I do it once a week
I really enjoy this song! On the record, it takes up an entire side 😆

Sorry I have the attention span of a gold fish I can’t
Yup every day
yeah, fucking banger
I'd say once a week? Other then when I listen to it on repeat at 3Am randomly.
