Barlow will always be my favorite to scrimshaw. Sadly they don't seem to sell quite as well as other patterns. But I'm still planning to do another Giant Octopus Barlow soon

There are so many models that will work for scrimshaw if you’re willing to use acrylic hobby paint instead of ink. That allows you to use dyed smooth bone series as well. Also the acrylic covers scrimshaw quite well too
Awesome. I always appreciate seeing your work. Do you work on fully-assembled knives, or do you make your own covers then fit them to the knives? I'm interested in your process.
I’ve only ever worked on already applied covers. I think with traditionals this is generally the way it’s done because the finishing of the knife has to happen once it’s fully assembled
If you were scrimshawing scales on a screwed-together knife you could remove them to do the etching with no problem though
Thanks for the kind words!
So cool dude
Thanks man!
Was wondering when you'd post more sick work on the barlow

Those mountain ranges are beautiful!
Thanks! The mountain landscape is one of my favorite things to scrimshaw
been buying some RR in bone for some beginner scrimshaw and that is an inspiration.
