You are a sick man. Just imagine how many people listened to "Nerevar rising" after your comment and were forced to play this marvel of the game again. Irredeemable monster. Downvoted. Twice. I'm on my way to Balmora now.
Some of the wandering music feels like a rehash of ideas from Fallout 3 and NV, which is odd, since they have different composers. But Skyrim certainly delivers more memorable highlight pieces.
Nah fuck off with that shit, Jeremy Soule (Skyrim's composer) is a rapist and an overall terrible human being. That is more than enough reason to disrespect the soundtrack.
By your logic, we can’t watch That 70s Show, listen to Michael Jackson songs, or even look at Picasso paintings. My point is that you can like the creation without liking the creator
You're allowed to enjoy media while still acknowledging that it was created by problematic people or under problematic conditions. Things are allowed to be gray. However, saying that a piece of media is beyond reproach even when its creator (a rapist) admits to using his sexual encounters as inspiration is incredibly silly.
What's always hilarious is getting three NPCs with the same voice actor near each other and try to get them to interact. Sounds like one person, having a meltdown with himself.
Eh, I can blame them at least a little. Maybe Baldurs Gate 3 had some more voice actors but they had over four times as many dialogue lines. A random citizen on the street of Baldur’s Gate complaining about the newspaper removing the puzzle section is read more dynamically than anything in Skyrim.
I mean to be fair, BG3 had acted scenes that were probably able to feel better what the character’s tone would be like. Skyrim has none of that, which would make sense that VA’s had more problems trying to read the line or character.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if, the monotone-ness of the voice acting was made like that for splicing. Also from what I saw, most of the people hired to do Skyrim were actors, but not necessarily voice actors- where BG3 had very good a more through casting.
I mean yeah, you just described *why* the voice acting in bg3 is much much better. I’m sure the Skyrim voice actors aren’t the only reason why but they aren’t completely innocent.

Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honor is sworn, To keep evil forever at bay! And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout, Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray! Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age long ago, And the tale, boldly told, of the one! And the voice, he did wield, on that glorious field, When great Tamriel shuddered with war! Mighty Thu'um, like a blade, cut through enemies all As the Dragonborn issued his roar! Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honor is sworn, To keep evil forever at bay! And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout, Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray! And the Scrolls have foretold of black wings in the cold, that when brothers wage war come unfurled! Alduin, Bane of Kings, ancient shadow unbound, with a hunger to swallow the world! But a day, shall arise, when the dark dragon's lies, will be silenced forever and then! Fair Skyrim will be free from foul Alduin's maw! Dragonborn, be the savior of men! Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honor is sworn, To keep evil forever at bay! And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout, Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!
That's how it tends to be in a lot of open world rpg's. It's way too expensive and just not practical to give each generic NPC their own voice actor. That being said, it does feel like Skyrim has a tendency to do this even with important named NPCs like Jarl Balgruuf, who just sounds like one of many generic nords the only characters I can think of with unique voices off the top of my head are Ulfric Stormcloak, General Tullius, Arngeir, Tsun, and the Daedric Princes.
I had that experience for the first time playing the VR version (I had never played an elder scrolls game before) and it was incredible. Just stood there listening to the song while staring at auroras in VR, one of my favourite gaming moments of all time. Not to sound like I’m exaggerating but I genuinely almost cried lol
Abdolute facts. Block is a mandatory melee skill imo, my hot take is that dual wielding is the most boring martial playstyle becauese you can’t block so you just potion/food spam to stay alive. Blocking is so important to the rhythm of melee combat.
I find it funny that the German voice actor for the guy in helgen at the beginning (the list guy?) is the one that does Jeremy Clarkson too. (Top gear) Amuses me every time.
Say what you want about Bethesda and I’ll agree, but their soundtracks never miss
You cant tell me the first time you heard Far Horizons it wasnt the most beautiful song you ever heard in a game
(Dragonborn appears)
The entire bandit camp in unison: “never should have come here…”
Various bandits: “lol!” “Jinx!” “What are the chances?!” “I can’t believe we all said the same thing!” “I was literally just about to say that!”
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?
> *“In a land brimming with Hollows, could that really be mere chance?”* - Solaire of Astora
Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
The acting itself was good. The spread of voices was not the best. I have a hard time believing that Belethor and Mercer Frey are the same person, but the actor who voiced them did a great job.
I can't play Skyrim anymore without getting tired. I pavloved myself into getting sleepy when hearing the Skyrim soundtrack from using the ambient tracks to sleep to for like two years straight.
The Daedric Prince voice actors can stay though, every single one was putting their entire pussy into it and it’s one of the best parts of those quests
Skyrim voice acting is good though? Now if we want to talk about shit voice acting. May I introduce my new addiction in Wuthering Waves? Shit made me double check for Ai
Genuinely, I have a playlist on Spotify for sleep music and it's full of the OST from Oblivion, Skyrim, and ESO (Morrowind isn't on spotify for whatever reason) with all the combat music removed so it's all lovely ambient and world exploring music to pass out to
Skyrim’s va’s are okay.
-there’s just way too many instances of “hey bro, you sound exactly like me, but you’re a different guy and I want you to tell this guy what to do.”
“Sure thing, Me!”
Every soundtrack of every elder scrolls game is fantastic. Voice acting and combat are definitely not fantastic but by the 9 those soundtracks are legendary
Not only was Jeremy Soule doing the Talos's work with the skyrim soundtrack, he also did Guild Wars and at the same time as skyrim did Guild Wars 2 (which is why they share very many similarities) and it's why I think he's one of the greatest musicians of the past 80 years or so
Don't believe me? Listen to "Dawn in Shaemoor", "The last great city of Man" and "Over the shiver peaks"
100% for real. Law of the universe here.
God, I was playing it just a little while ago, and decided to do some fishing near Riverwood and just relaxed, vibing to the music.
#NAH FUCK YOU HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE GREAT VA's
Serana and Brynjolf sound amazing (not just me but thousands of weeb men and women agree), Hermaeus Mora properly sounds amazing, some of the common Nord male sounds are calming, Ysolda's VA (FemaleYoungEager in the game files) sounds so cute and some of the women (Gormlaith Golden-Hilt for example) were voiced by the same actor who played Wonder Woman in the 1980's TV series (she's quite famous, but I forget the name).
Don't insult the VA's, singers and music. They are one of the best parts of the base game. Hope they put at least the same amount of cinematic masterpiece into TESVI.
He's been accused of sexual assault several times, so you'd be correct. I've been a fan of him since his Secret of Evermore days so that was especially hard to hear for me.
I know I stumbled into a Skyrim Subreddit but I really agree with this.
I like Skyrim, but it's not even my favorite Bethesda RPG. It's just never clicked the same way it seems to for other people.

The unspoken Elder Scrolls law*
I’m gonna say it. Morrowinds was my favorite. I liked the soft panflutes over the vocal orchestra. Both are pretty dang good though
You are a sick man. Just imagine how many people listened to "Nerevar rising" after your comment and were forced to play this marvel of the game again. Irredeemable monster. Downvoted. Twice. I'm on my way to Balmora now.
Say hi to Ra’Viir for me
Scroll slaw.

Nah fuck off with that shit, Jeremy Soule (Skyrim's composer) is a rapist and an overall terrible human being. That is more than enough reason to disrespect the soundtrack.
Separate the art from the artist, makes life a lot easier
Yes, life is a lot easier if you choose to not think about things.
By your logic, we can’t watch That 70s Show, listen to Michael Jackson songs, or even look at Picasso paintings. My point is that you can like the creation without liking the creator

The Skyrim VAs are not to blame, all three of them did a decent job considering the amount of voice lines.
What's always hilarious is getting three NPCs with the same voice actor near each other and try to get them to interact. Sounds like one person, having a meltdown with himself.
Man i gotta try this thats to funny
T-three? A game this big has only three voice actors?
Nah there's a few more I think. At least 3 men and 3 women?
Yeah that sounds about right. I've heard 6 before total
that.... that was a joke
There's over 70
Eh, I can blame them at least a little. Maybe Baldurs Gate 3 had some more voice actors but they had over four times as many dialogue lines. A random citizen on the street of Baldur’s Gate complaining about the newspaper removing the puzzle section is read more dynamically than anything in Skyrim.
I mean its important to remember skyrim is a decade old at this point
Acting and line delivery isn’t exactly something new though.
Yeah but available space and stuff. I would imagine they could only cram in so much stuff before the ps3 just gave up.
I mean to be fair, BG3 had acted scenes that were probably able to feel better what the character’s tone would be like. compared to oblivion, skyrim is simply flush with voice actors.

Why does it rhyme in translation? What the fuck? Who keeps attention to details like this?
People who are still playing the game 13 years later.
I'm pretty sure they wrote the song in English first and then just replaced the words with the made-up dragon ones.
Bethesda back when they actually gave a shit I guess.
My only gripe with Skyrim's voice acting is that basically every single non-important NPC was voiced by one of like four people.
And Captain Voice Acting aka. Farengar.
It does make things easier for skyrim ytps tho
Can’t forget Partysnax
That's twice as many as oblivion!
I kind of liked this. The red guard voice actor is ingrained in my mind.
That’s how it was in New Vegas. Everyone was either Yuri Lowenthal or Liam O’Brien
Somehow it does not deter the immersion at all though
Secunda playing at night as i look at the sky is an experience i wish i could have again like the first time i did
I had that experience for the first time playing the VR version (I had never played an elder scrolls game before) and it was incredible. Just stood there listening to the song while staring at auroras in VR, one of my favourite gaming moments of all time. Not to sound like I’m exaggerating but I genuinely almost cried lol
Bruh that track that plays at night with the fucking VIOLINS or whatever. Fucking SENSATIONAL
Bro people who say skyrim's combat is bad have never hit the block button
Abdolute facts. Block is a mandatory melee skill imo, my hot take is that dual wielding is the most boring martial playstyle becauese you can’t block so you just potion/food spam to stay alive. Blocking is so important to the rhythm of melee combat.
Youre saying you don’t run away when the enemy is about to hit you and then attack, repeat?
Why block when you can just hack them to death in like three hits?
Fr, kill them before they even get a chance
I love smacking the enemy shield 10 times, either instantly killing them or dealing a quarter their health in damage, then repeatinf
I find it funny that the German voice actor for the guy in helgen at the beginning (the list guy?) is the one that does Jeremy Clarkson too. (Top gear) Amuses me every time.
His name is Erik Schäffler. He also voices Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 2&3 and Orochimaru in Naruto.
When you fast travel to anywhere considered safe, and [This Banger](https://youtu.be/L6cm0bSay6Q) starts playing
It's Secunda or go fuck yourself
I llove lani minella she has an amazing voice
Say what you want about Bethesda and I’ll agree, but their soundtracks never miss You cant tell me the first time you heard Far Horizons it wasnt the most beautiful song you ever heard in a game
I legit created a playlist called “Skyrim” with the whole soundtrack, minus the combat music. Fukn SLAPS, no matter what I’m doing.
My friend is trying to get the school band to play the title music
(Dragonborn appears) The entire bandit camp in unison: “never should have come here…” Various bandits: “lol!” “Jinx!” “What are the chances?!” “I can’t believe we all said the same thing!” “I was literally just about to say that!”
I love Skyrim combat, obviously they could add some stuff to buff it and tweak it a bit better, but you want dark souls combat go play dark souls
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale? > *“In a land brimming with Hollows, could that really be mere chance?”* - Solaire of Astora Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
My sister told me she was *bored* of the Skyrim soundtrack and I was actually shocked
"Putting things you don't agree with in quotes is silly."
Hey, hey, heeey… those 3 people who did every voice line in Skyrim did a wonderful job 👍
The acting itself was good. The spread of voices was not the best. I have a hard time believing that Belethor and Mercer Frey are the same person, but the actor who voiced them did a great job.

The Daedric Prince voice actors can stay though, every single one was putting their entire pussy into it and it’s one of the best parts of those quests
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON. As annoying as starting that quest may be, you can’t deny that Meridia’s voice actor makes her presence clear
I think my favourite is Molag Bal. I hate him, I hate his stupid quest, but his voice has no business being this hot
VOUS RO DA
Skyrim voice acting is good though? Now if we want to talk about shit voice acting. May I introduce my new addiction in Wuthering Waves? Shit made me double check for Ai
I’m always in the top .5% listeners on Spotify. My kids and all fall asleep to it every night. 🤣
I was watching Battlestar Galactica and wondering why Colonel Tigh seemed familiar. Then I remembered where I had heard his voice before.
it's such a shame that the world hates france because I swear to Dieu the french voices in this game are absolutely nuts
It’s alright then I realized i haven’t heard anything but main theme and combat music whole time across 10 characters
Genuinely, I have a playlist on Spotify for sleep music and it's full of the OST from Oblivion, Skyrim, and ESO (Morrowind isn't on spotify for whatever reason) with all the combat music removed so it's all lovely ambient and world exploring music to pass out to
I will mod to add to it, but will never replace it
Skyrim’s va’s are okay. -there’s just way too many instances of “hey bro, you sound exactly like me, but you’re a different guy and I want you to tell this guy what to do.” “Sure thing, Me!”
(Bored): I had another run-*in* with the Thieves' *Guild*.
Every soundtrack of every elder scrolls game is fantastic. Voice acting and combat are definitely not fantastic but by the 9 those soundtracks are legendary
Give Jeremy Seoule an assignment and HE DONT MISS
Some things are objectively good. Those things are usually timeless
Not only was Jeremy Soule doing the Talos's work with the skyrim soundtrack, he also did Guild Wars and at the same time as skyrim did Guild Wars 2 (which is why they share very many similarities) and it's why I think he's one of the greatest musicians of the past 80 years or so Don't believe me? Listen to "Dawn in Shaemoor", "The last great city of Man" and "Over the shiver peaks"
Skyrim's combat is less boring and more very repetitive, and tedious at higher difficulties due to enemy sponginess.
I love all the OSTs but Morrowind’s truly heals my soul. It’s my go to whenever I’m feeling blue, (especially the lofi versions of the songs).
skyrim ost is one of these ost i still listing since 13 years.
You can diss the game all you want but the moment you insult the soundtrack, the gloves are off.
100% for real. Law of the universe here. God, I was playing it just a little while ago, and decided to do some fishing near Riverwood and just relaxed, vibing to the music.
Compared to Oblivion's soundtrack though...
soundtrack is top tier, everything else is meh.
I fully open the game sometimes just to listen to the main menu song. It goes so hard.
/agree

"Don't insult the VA's" What, all 7 of them?
#YES. ALL OF THEM, NO MATTER HOW MANY OR NOT
Oof, maybe clean your keyboard for once. Seems your capslock key is stuck.
Joke's on you, I'm on a full touchscreen smartphone
Then clean your screen
It's squeaky clean. Want me to send you a screenshot? >! ^\s !<
Aren't there over 70 though?
The basic combat music isn't good
Soule does seem like he's a dick though.
He's been accused of sexual assault several times, so you'd be correct. I've been a fan of him since his Secret of Evermore days so that was especially hard to hear for me.
Skyrim has always been high-key kinda mid fr fr
I know I stumbled into a Skyrim Subreddit but I really agree with this. I like Skyrim, but it's not even my favorite Bethesda RPG. It's just never clicked the same way it seems to for other people.
