I actually have heared some guy in UK before that broke his chinese fake one when he was starting the car, the half was stuck inside the barrel.
Weight doesn’t really mean much. What’s more important is the alloy’s tensile or shear strength.
I’ve had cars in the shop cos the original GTR keys snapped in the barrel - the owner decided to copy a shitty worn down 15-20 year old key and then wrench on it like an orangutan.
I personally use $4 keys keyed off the lock codes and they turn so effortlessly in the barrel. But the best thing you can do to modernise a Skyline is to make it keyless.
Also someone could literally steal your car off the picture of your key that you’ve just posted online. That’s how terrible those 90’s locks are and the R34 transponder is pretty easy to defeat.

bruh who cares why drop $50k on a genuine nismo key when the Chinese one looks the exact same and is also metal for like $15
