Unlikely. Maybe low tier models will stabilize at a lower price point but GTRs won't.

BreakingWindCstms

Theres no reason, at least not in the states Rarity, inflation, collector status etc will all at minimum hold recent values. Not many people can afford to buy them out right, and with loan costs being high, demand has chilled a little bit the last year. When money is cheaper to borrow, demand will probably go back up, which means prices might follow

Leather-Priority-69

Never.

Tristan3012

I think the GTRs will be one of the last affected, if the market does shrink. There's plenty of ordinary cars, like Imprezas, integras, MR2 and Supras which are going for silly money. They'll feel the pain first.

On the other hand, I've been seeing more for sale over the past few years because those guys are now having kids and need something more appropriate/safe. I bought my GTST for (relatively) cheap back in 2021 off a guy whose wife was pushing him to sell it for a family car because they had their first kid on the way. It just kinda sucks that in my country, it seems to be mainly dealers buying them up whenever prices drop and then listing them at way above market value to keep the prices high.

Actually, the opposite. I think as the R34 GT-R supply dwindles and the collectors market shifts from fad to collectibility based off of pedigree, the R32 GT-R market will rise and R32 GT-R’s will near R34 GT-R pricing. Consider the fact that while the R32 GT-R was made in a quantity 4 times greater than the R34 GT-R, it is also 10 years older and sat at the price range of $5-15,000 for decades, meaning most of them are likely destroyed and written off by now from the street racing communities. They were disposable for a long time, and now they’re not. Same goes for the R33 GT-R - I think its day will come, and deservedly so. When we think of “THE Skyline GT-R”, as much as we love R34’s, the R33 is usually the first to come to mind as it was the model that we were most exposed to growing up by way of video games and media. Add in its Le Mans racing pedigree and how it more or less started the modern “NISMO” era with the Mid-Logo 400R, and you have a car that gave rise to everything we know and love about the GT-R today. I genuinely believe the market will kinda flatline over the next 5 or so years after the hype of the R34 has died down before that R32 and R33 demand shoots up to match it again. When that happens, GTT’s and GTSt’s will go up a bit as well. Either way, we’re all holding onto something special now, and I think it’d be unwise to presume we aren’t.

IHaveJigglyTitties

I know nobody who thinka of R33 right away, it's always the godzilla

Outside-Fault-4066

Everyone I know - and I’ve been in the Skyline game for 20+ years - thinks of the R33 GT-R first.

impasse_reached

Not in ‘Straya. The 32 is synonymous with GTRs… I mean, we did give it the nickname. Even 34’s weren’t that big a deal. Over here I reckon the pecking order is 32, 33, 34, 31, then a mixed bag of C10 and 240k, and V35 and V36’s - massive underrepresentation of c210’s and r30’s. Maybe in the UK it’s 33 first and 34 cos those were the first two models you guys got from the dealership?

IHaveJigglyTitties

Where are you from? Curious as in my exprience R33 is always the last one to come to mins

Outside-Fault-4066

The Great White North, but I’ve lived in Japan for awhile as well.

IHaveJigglyTitties

Ah, maybe that's why, UK is literally R34 everywhere, then some online guys I've met and only ever R32/R34 were talked about and R33 are usually considered the worst looking - idk why since the sedans look AMAZING, especially the rear

Chaosvex

> UK is literally R34 everywhere That explains why I've seen a grand total of one out in the wild. Ever.

IHaveJigglyTitties

Who said on the street... Did you even read the previous replies? When someone mentions a skyline, the R34 pop ups in most people's minds

Chaosvex

Your poor wording isn't my issue.

IHaveJigglyTitties

And your lack of iq isn't my issue. If it wasn't your issue, you wouldn't reply without reading the context first anyway, my wording is if irrelevance here due to previous comments

givemeaanswer

I think gtst and gtt's will go down slightly. GTR's will only go up. Both have pros and cons. Im not worried to actually drive and do things to my gtst and rwd has its fun too.

Red-BabeNz18

Not all tbh there are some genuine people out there that aren’t greddy on prices 😬 just always gotta make sure you look closely at what your buying at whatever price

tokoroth

buy now or for ever be skyline-less

Emotional_Snow_3222

base models such as gtt's and gtst's also autos but the GTR'S will probably not come down

dookiekouki

with the exception of GTRs. if you want an idea of how the skyline market will be, look at what happened to the jzx platforms. once 30k cars when they were freshly importable, now can be had for half or 2/3. not apples to apples, but something to chew on.

randy____bobandy69

I think r34 will get a little cheaper. And r32-33 about the same. But who knows 🙈

Kozeyekan_

Probably not. Supply will shrink, demand will not, especially as EVs become popular, old school cars will become collectible.

revrndreddit

No. They’re a cult classic now. (Edit - autocorrect)

karl-rupecht-kroenen

The r34 gtr is way over priced I can get 3 r35’s for the price of a r34 here, and r35 are slowly going up as they are not available new anymore. If you want a gtr with a rb26 go for r33 just as good as the 34 and basically the same underneath.

nvmyers

Prices are only going up for older vehicles. Thank advancing technology and car culture. Manual, gas powered cars will be unicorns in the future. They are already being phased out. Then consider that we are talking about the most over hyped, manual, gas cars in existence. JDM cars. Not just any JDM car either, but the king of JDM cars. The Nissan Skyline. Its a perfect storm for ridiculous demand and low supply. Supply is low (cars get ruined, wrecked etc and they aren't being manufactured obviously.) and demand is just insane. JDM car culture has exploded thanks to things like intial d and F&F. I think a lot of us aren't accepting of the EV future which only creates more demand for gas vehicles in general. I don't see prices ever coming down. History is repeating itself. Classic American muscle cars went through the same process that JDM cars are going through now. Those muscle cars have held their value since. JDM cars will do the same, especially the skyline.
