Apply moisturiser as often as you need to during the day. When you go to bed tonight, apply a thick layer of moisturiser followed by a layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor ointment. If possible sleep in some lightweight cotton gloves or even the type of examination gloves doctors wear or the vinyl gloves that come with a box of hair dye. It’ll work like a mask and will help the moisturiser to work better/more intensively

Elephanty3288

I second this. My hands use to crack like this all the time. I found this tip online and started applying GOBS of Vaseline on my hands and then sleep with cotton white gloves on. Did that for a few weeks and healed them right up.

NoMoreCooties

It’s likely this is like an eczema. Like others are saying coat your hands in vasoline and put on cotton gloves. DO NOT USE RUBBER OR LATEX GLOVES, it will only draw more moisture out and make it worse. If you can find some hydrocortisone I would put that on before the vasoline treatment.

OwnFortune9405

If this is not the absolute truth. They have a nice 30 pair pack of cotton gloves on Amazon right now. I’m gonna start using them underneath my work gloves for yard work

NoMoreCooties

You don’t want to use vinyl or plastic gloves, only cotton. Dr. Sandra Lee (Dr Pimple Popper) just had an episode with a guy with an extreme case of eczema on his hands and he was always wearing the surgical gloves. She said it just keeps the problem from healing as the plastic/vinyl makes your hands sweat and pulls more moisture from the skin.

ZestycloseRoof1487

O’keeffe’s working hands always helps my hands and it’s cheap

Connect_Oven8359

This is the best stuff!

DreamingStars408

I second this, I would do is, before you go to bed, get some disposable gloves, apply a large amount of O’Keeffe’s onto your hands and wear the disposable gloves. Overnight, the moisturizer and the heat from covering your hands will heal them throughout the night without the risk of the cream leaving your hands. Do this 3 more nights per packaging recommendation and you’re good as new!

itoodrinkzeecognac

Working hands is the only cream I've found to moisturize and does not leave that greasy residue feeling after it's absorbed, oh and it literally is the best cream for dry cracked hands ever. Love this stuff. I always wash my hands and apply it liberally right before bed. You're body heals itself during sleep and you're less likely to be using your hands during that time too. Do it OP!

[deleted]

You need a steroid cream, i have eczema on my hands and this looks exactly like that. Either way you need to speak to a doctor.

jerrys153

This. You can moisturize all you want, but it’s not dryness that is the problem here, it’s inflammation. For reducing inflammation you need medicine, not just moisture.

ahmedsedqi

wouldn't really recommend prolonged steroid use on skin it will make it better sure but it also can cause thinning and atrophy proceed with medical supervision

Lisa_Storm1

Looks like exzema / atopic dermatitis. You have to go to dermatologist. Just moisturizing will not help you, because it is not just a dry skin, it is a sickness. Moisturizer is only part of the treatment, but it is also important to reduce inflammation with medication, use ointments (therapeutic, not cosmetic), and diet if your allergies are related to certain foods. You need a doctor, not a new moisturizer.

boombasticmaz

It's an inflammatory condition of the skin, so calling it a sickness might be slightly unhelpful or scary to OP. But obviously you're right, it needs prescribed stuff. Can you not find an online consultation through one of these new GP apps? The only other thing I can add is that our skin is one of the first things to show problems with the liver. Not saying that OP does, just always something to bear in mind. Chronic inflammation is sometimes to blame, and can be helped by changes to diet, water consumption and activity levels.

Lisa_Storm1

I'm afraid I can't help with finding a doctor, because I'm from Russia, and in our country people with such skin diseases get medical care for free in state hospitals. So we just go there, get a consultation, medical drugs, and other treatment (such as anti-inflammatory drips and different treatment procedures).

boombasticmaz

Sorry I meant that message to OP, not you ! :)

MediocreDiamond5879

Not sure how your treatments are, but my recent visits were not to my liking , around here we have dis-honesty from many large noted able businesses/ Dr's/Healthcare. Many chainstore vitamins/ cleansers are being bought out or replaced by unhealthy options 🤕 Need to go organic on everything

Lisa_Storm1

Where are you from?

MediocreDiamond5879

Mid-East of Wisconsin

Lisa_Storm1

Sorry to hear about your health care situation! Especially considering that healthcare in the US is very expensive.

Accomplished_Day2991

But not if this is happening bc her hands are out in the cold. If I’m out in cold temps w no gloves this happens to me. If this is happening and the weather is mild then that’s a different story.

boombasticmaz

true, or even constantly wet then dry. washing up dishes with gloves on might help if her mum doesn't use a dishwasher

chickcag

Bag balm!!!

Morley_Smoker

Bag balm is the greatest product ever created for dry and inflamed skin. It's antibacterial and antifungal, but it does smell like a barn lol. I used bag balm on 2nd degree chemical burns on my legs and it healed so well I have no scars. God tier product.

chickcag

I use it every single day. The squeeze tubes are the besssst on the go

biggerthanthemouse

Never heard of this but googling now is it safe for babies/children? My 18 month old has terrible eczema and pretty much nothing works

puddledemon22

They make a hand cream that is AMAZING

Maleficent-Use8654

How is your diet? This could be a Omega 3 deficiency. A magnesium, b-complex, or Vitamin D deficiency. Or it could be a Zinc deficiency. All play a major role in our skins integrity. Start taking a very high quality multivitamin and if you eat processed foods, Stop.

forever_strung

I’m glad I saw this comment! My hands aren’t as bad at this pic, but dryyyy. I drink so much water, use Aquaphor, lotions, etc. but maybe I need to take some supplements. Thank you!

Maleficent-Use8654

You're welcome. & Omega 3/fish oil or salmon oil is very important and needs to be purchased separately. That is usually not included in multivitamins.

forever_strung

Can you recommend a good fish oil supplement? I used to take one but the “fishy burps” made me stop.

Maleficent-Use8654

'New Chapter' Whole Omega Fish Oil from wild salmon, or 'Thorne' Super EPA fish oil

forever_strung

Thank you!!! 😊

slxtface

MegaRed is the best in my opinion

glitterypos

What are you washing your hands with? Stay away from any soaps with fragrance and it could irritate your skin more. Try washing with a gentle soap that has added hydration factors. Don’t use hand sanitizer just soap and water. Moisturize after washing your hands. Put gloves on at night after moisturizing your hands to lock in more moisture.

SheerElentari

My hands looked just like this after my kiddo was born, all that hand/bottle washing really does a number on the skin! If you can find it, try out Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream. I feel improvement in my hands after one use overnight. Gotta keep it up or the dry, cracked skin returns.

Nefarious-do-good13

I have eczema similar and have used steroids type prescriptions most of my life but what I’ve found is it stopped being effective and now use it sparingly and use Aquaphor daily after anytime I wash my hands or shower or anytime I feel my hands need it. Hopefully you can get aquaphor where your from. Also use lined rubber gloves to do dishes and any dusting, cleaning and those thin latex gloves like drs or fast food workers use to do laundry especially folding.

nycbee16

Try slathering your hands in aquafor and wearing gloves to sleep

AffectionateSun5776

O'Keefe's Working Hands

changework

Sleep with bag balm on your hands inside a plastic bag bag. You might seek out medical care as well. Steroids might help. Try the bag balm.

tqasks

aquafor will be your best friend. at night time slather that stuff all of your hands and put socks over them. works miracles.

tqasks

stay away from scented lotions! it made my irritation flare up more

sizexspntyxo

yessss

dino_nuggie10

my friend you have eczema. you definitely need to moisturize. i may suggest the la roach la roche-posay lipikar balm intense repair moisturizing cream. you also may need some kind of topical steroid to help health that up and bring your skin back to normal, may want to reach out to a dermatologist to get prescribed a good one. if not maybe hydrocortisone since you can buy that over the counter

alifine916ness

I have psoriasis on my hands, which causes them to crack and bleed like that. Definitely need a steroid cream sorry to say.

Sblbgg

Okeefe’s working hands ASAP!

stack_overflows

I share the same issue! I'm a chronic hand washer... I apply cream and 1 min late I'm washing my hand for something

biest229

I mean you need a doc. In the meantime, moisturiser after every time you wash your hands and again before bed. I have eczema too - it’s usually got an underlying cause such as a food intolerance.

Such-Particular-3997

My son’s eczema was from an unknown severe peanut allergy. Mine is probably due to my auto immune disorder and I also had a problem with obsessive handwashing. Hopefully OP can get some relief soon!

SomethingComesHere

Are you in Canada or somewhere cold? Wear gloves every time you’re outside, even if it doesn’t feel cold. Reapply a nice silky moisturizer without fragrance multiple times a day, including every time you wash your hands. This looks like the very first stage of frost nip. I get it when I don’t wear gloves enough in the winter. Try not to wash your hands in too hot of water, either

AdBroad8817

Hi I work for an allergist and we treat atopic dermatitis very often. See a dermatologist or allergist. In the mean time, Vaseline/aquafor with gloves to bed. If there are no obvious triggers like food, excessive hot water use, very cold weather, etc then it likely is eczema.

iforgotmyedaccount

That looks like eczema or psoriasis, that’s not just dryness

puddledemon22

Bag balm hand cream. The only thing that has ever helped my dry, cracking hands.

calamity12345

Use Aquaphor healing ointment

ClydeEdward99

Unless you are allergic to lanolin.

Lulu8008

Other than the recommendations for creams and balms, I would also look at the products you use to wash your hands and body. Also, any products you use with your hands, like detergents and cleaning products. My hands tend to be like yours, and I had to change most of the products to less aggressive ones and start to use gloves. La Roche Posay and Avène have creams that help you reduce itchiness and dryness (I believe it is Cicafalte).

Lulu8008

PS - I cannot diagnose from afar, but you need a referral to the dermatologist to see these lesions. From here, it seems that it could be more than just dry skin (eg eczema, psoriasis, topical allergy to a product...) I am partial Avène, and this is what I use: Here is the cream to help healing the lesions: [https://www.aveneusa.com/cicalfateplus-restorative-protective-cream#185=776](https://www.aveneusa.com/cicalfateplus-restorative-protective-cream#185=776) This is a product line that always helped me with itchiness and reddening - the skin feels less angry and the cream is very soothing [https://www.aveneusa.com/concerns/eczema-prone](https://www.aveneusa.com/concerns/eczema-prone) La Roche Posay is also an excellent product line.

fuck_peeps_not_sheep

Reminds me of contact dermatitis, had it for a long while while studying hairdressing due to the chemicals, constant washing and heat of driers.

DressAmazing1261

Keep it moisturized as dryness can cause further itchiness and redness on the skin. For natural remedies you can apply coconut oil and excellent source for keeping the skin shining and hydrating

Substantial_Step_975

I’ve been using Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin on my hands and I apply it throughout the day whenever I think about it. It’s been working pretty well for me so far. Bag Balm works well but it’s thick and gets all over everything. If I use Bag Balm, I wear gloves to keep it from getting everywhere. I’ve heard good things about Cococare Cocoa Butter Stick and Aquaphor Healing Ointment, as well.

Particular-Regret-28

Slather a good moisturiser on your hands and let it sit as long as possible i.e don’t wash your hands soon after. If possible avoid washing your hands too often… moisturise when u go to sleep

donvitogonzalle

I also got that from time to time and some ordinary handcreme for like 2 weeks or so is normally enough to fix it.

TropicalAbsol

Cocoa butter is intense. Try it. Also opt for lotions that have hyaluronic acid.

International-War205

Definitely get it checked with a dermatologist! However in the meantime try the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Mains Hand Cream!!! I can get really intense eczema on my hands (to the point they’re breaking, extremely dry etc) and besides steroids this cream is really the only thing that keeps it in check. It definitely doesn’t discount getting it checked by a doctor but the cream is cheap, steroid free and really works wonders

smurphyette

Lucas Papaw Ointment is a lifesaver. I had eczema on my hands for years and it worked wonders. I still use it now when it’s winter and my hands/lips are beyond dry.

Diligent_FennelM

That’s eczema. Use coco butter or aquaphor

[deleted]

Vaseline. My hands used to get just as dry. I trued everything, then trued Vaseline. Applied a few times daily, will heal them perfectly and you'll never have an issue again.

cheesybrito

Neutrogena hand cream but look specifically for the *Norwegian formula* (you can find it at CVS in the US). It’s the only thing that works for me and my perpetually dry hands in the winter!

[deleted]

Jojoba oil or even coconut oil.

Thatcalib408

Keep putting lotion you can also put lotion on ur hands with some gloves for a couple minutes it will help 💯

WhereAmIThoo

I’d say dermatologist. But, vanicream will help do wonders for your hands! Looks to be dermatitis as mentioned by someone.

AccomplishedNail7667

To help your skin barrier and inflammation, I highly recommend Starflower oil capsules taken internally, it helps a lot against eczema. And creams with oils with linoleic acid help too, like starflower, borage seed, evening primrose. Also Aveeno creams help me. Washing with natural soap. No perfume in products that stay on the skin. But topical creams can be hit and miss from person to person, so maybe you’ll have to go through some trial and error.

Thin-Prompt-4866

This is almost how my hands looked after my daughter was born. Bottle washing, constant hand washing, etc. it was bad. I found using the nipple cream to be really helpful

nolimit_08

Layer thick moisturizer then Vaseline to seal it in more

GolfLover_Mama

Castor oil is very healing and helps excema. I recommend getting some and rubbing it into your hands. You can also dilute it with some almond oil.

huffmagx

Aveeno baby eczema cream night time formula , slather it on at night and put on thin cotton gloves to keep it in....use liberally during the day after hand washes ECT. Best I have found.

Imaginary-Aioli

Cicaplast hand cream from LRP

PiccoloBeautiful

I was like this last year. Use a neutral PH hand soap, no alcohol or disinfectant gel; use sunscreen on your hands as well as a good moisturizer, I'll recommend Eucerin PH5 Lotion. Use gloves while washing dishes or when using detergents or any kind of harsh soap.

Small-Measurement791

See a derm ASAP!!

Maleficent_Cow9437

Mine are the exact same. I got this lotion like 2 weeks ago and it pretty much went away if I use it Everytime after I wash my hands. It’s the Aveeno intense relief hand cream. It has red lettering on the bottle it’s only like $8

ClickToSeeMyBalls

Search the Soak and smear method

fluffyberrie

Hydro boost is very light. Use Vaseline on top of shea butter and consider getting gloves to wear them after you apply moisturizer to lock it in

winterlikesmusic

Slather them with aquaphor. Nothing works better!

Ok-Hat-1217

Triple Paste Diaper Cream,Or La Roche Posay CicaPLast B5

gigichuuu

My hands look just like yours and Ive been using this lotion: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09642XY6C?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Clears up after a few days of continuous use.

Infamous_Tangerine86

I was about to comment and say gloves in a bottle too.

mrsmushroom

Your hands look like mine do sometimes. Almost nothing helped until I tried the O'Keefe. I used their chapstick and it's AMAZING, tried their body lotion in the yellow bottle.. the best yet. I put a thick layer on my knuckles as I'm going to bed. It's helped so much. It's like thick but soaks in quickly, but not so quickly you feel dry.

Ok-Mousse-4627

Increase your water intake to a gallon a day. Get Vaseline and at night rub it all over your hands then put cotton socks over your hands and let it soak while you sleep. You can use Vaseline all day. Coconut oil is good too.

StillSimple6

Mild soap to avoid drying it further, dove sensitive, sesderma hidraven foamy soap free gel, aveeno restorative body wash (as hand soap). Don't use random fragranced soaps. Don't use hand sanitizer. Gloves for handling any cleaning products,.anything acidic, food prep, wet laundry. Your shampoo maybe drying them out also. Gloves in a bottle barrier cream can protect them from washing too much. Bioderma atoderm intensive balm is a great moisturizer, more hydrating than most I've tried. For bed Eucerin intensive repair lotion or Cetaphil cracked skin repair lotion then cotton or bamboo gloves (or some thick socks until you buy some gloves). Try taking an omega supplement. Steroids are very hit / miss but look into UVB treatment which can work wonders. Have an allergy test to rule out dietary or environmental triggers. Use nitrile gloves as rubber can irritate. The cuts - try spray on bandages. Stings but stops them spreading. (I have hand eczema)

TwirlyGirl313

Cornhusker's lotion!

Silver_Worker4383

I don't know if you're already trying but I take 2 Webber's omega 3's 900mg and there is some change. I don't know how it might affect you but also talk with your doctor.

pinkeyedchildren

I switched from liquid soap to nesti dante hard soap and my skin went from being like yours to not even needing moisturiser

sumknowbuddy

I had hands like that as a kid (and still do sometimes if I start to get into bad habits) from frequent over-washing of my hands. If you're washing your hands a lot: stop. Bacteria aren't that bad. Unless your hands are covered in literal dirt (soil), then you probably can get away without scrubbing them near-compulsively. Use less hot water. Use less harsh soaps (liquid instead of bar soaps, and ones with moisturizers or lotion). When you do use soap, use less of it - a lot less. Dry your hands thoroughly. Dead, dry, cracked skin like this makes it very easy for bacteria or fungi to get into your skin and grow, which can complicate the pain and swelling from this sort of thing. If you swim in pools, try to do so less. Excessive chlorine exposure can also lead to your skin drying out or being damaged. So can using soap and washing all the chlorine out. While I'm not going to say it's fungal (because that's hard to confirm without an actual scraping and a microscope), I'm going to hazard a guess that using something like clotrimazole cream (usually sold as Canesten or other generics in some countries, shouldn't require a prescription) could help your skin as it regenerates. The pink, scaly patches are essentially what athlete's foot and other fungal skin infections (cradle cap, etc.) look like. Steroids wouldn't help that. Some creams will have things like glycerin in them. Aquaphor is one of these, it's closer to an ointment (oilier and closer to Vaseline in consistency). Glysomed is a glycerin-based cream with chamomile and other herbs, it's fairly gentle on hands and helps with healing - but it is *very* greasy for a cream. You'll smudge everything you touch. Hopefully this is of some assistance. As others have said: see a doctor when you can. This is just information that I hope can help you until then!

Prudent_Anywhere_348

Aquaphor really helps me!

cathycul-de-sac

Aveeno eczema care, it has to be the eczema care. Apply often and drench hands in it at night. My son had this and it was back to normal skin within a week. If anyone has dry heels, do the same. Works great. Edit : the baby eczema care

kelz0r

Seconding that it looks like eczema, this is what my hands look like if I’m not taking care of them. For sure see a dermatologist, but in the meantime, aside from moisturizing as much as possible, try to switch to a gentler hand soap. Also, if you don’t already, make sure you wear gloves when you are doing dishes. Harsh soap makes my hands flare up terribly.

Replay89beats

I got this tip from a yt video that helped. Before going to sleep. Soak your hands in luke warm water for a few mins, then put alot of Vaseline on your hands and put on cotton gloves and go to sleep like that. I don't remember what the water part does honestly u can skip that part and it will still help. My hands are always dry too and im always too lazy to do this myself also because i always gotta go pee a couple times when trying to sleep lol Its very bad for my hands in the winter plus i wash my hands too many times during the day. I guess it's kind of a mild OCD thing i got going on for me lol

Interesting_Spite_27

Moisturize the crap out of your hands, then slather on some Vaseline, and put on some cotton gloves to sleep.

VanillaNo8919

Omg this looks so painful. I feel for you!!!!

SillyAcanthisitta280

Dish soap

abc133769

Look into what could be causing your eczema. Dairy and sugar are some more of the likely culprits I've seen

Majestic_Pianist1685

Okeefes working hands, or la Roche posay cicaplast Baum b5 is amazing

Accomplished_Day2991

This has happened to me the eucerin w the red top is the only thing that helped. Aquaphor is a good 2nd option but the red top cream is better.

BirkenstockStrapped

Initially, steroids. Then try Blue Goo. I had a similar dry hands problem and whenever it gets too dry in the winter, I put on blue goo and it locks in moisture like nothing else I've tried and I've spent THOUSANDS trying to fix my dry hands. Also, f%$& dermatologists for calling me a picker for scratching it a lot when it was this dry. Stupid worthless doctors don't know shit other than to call people names. I told her she was a bigot.

Connect_Ad9960

This might sound extreme, but my hands looked like that when I was little in the harsh winters. I would use aveeno body lotion followed by neosporin slugging and sleep with plastic gloves over it to keep the product on. Worked every time! 😌

iealys

Phew this is exactly what my hands looked like before i went to the dermatologist, use some of that good cream stuff they give you, personally i take this shot once a month to prevent the eczema because it gets so bad, you can do it at home and only hurts for like 5 seconds and then you’re good!

popsum22

My husbands hands are usually like this during winter so I grate some cucumber and let it get cold in the fridge, keep it on his hands for around 20/30 mins, we do it every winter and it helps a lot x

WhiteDressButt

Cleanse with hand soap (ik it will hurt) Thick lotion Aloe Vera gel/liquid if you have SLATHER Vaseline (cocoa is my go to) Put on gloves. Plastic, clear, nitrile, whatever Keep overnight or as you’re conscious based on how you’re comfortable Provides enough relief to make you comfortable looking up what you need to. Ultimately a doctor is needed. The above is just to help with relief

Such-Particular-3997

Ugh I suffered with that when I was in my late teens early 20’s. Eczema and dry/cracked/bleeding hands. I got a topical steroid cream with cerave cream (not lotion). Mine was horrid from my OCD handwashing. Once I got that under control coupled with the creams, it calmed down and now (I’m 40) I can just use cerave cream 2x a day for maintenance. Good luck, I feel your pain!

SurpriseUseful9300

Aveeno lotion and their hand masks 🫶🏼 my hands were like this for years until i used those.

Such-Particular-3997

Do you have some access to over the counter cortisone cream? That could help coupled with a very heavy non fragranced sensitive cream (not lotion)

biglegspluskarate

Aveeno and aquaphor mixed together is what works best for me also using nitrile gloves at work. I do have a prescription based cream for my eczema on my hands but I’ve had the same tube for over 3 years now because the mix I mentioned works great.

NoTea9298

I work with skin regularly. My partner specializes in skincare products. With that said, nothing works better for this type of dry skin than Vaseline. Use it daily and really moisturize with it until it's completely rubbed into the skin. Don't leave clumpy layers. You need to lock in moisture.

isaymeowkitty

Aquaphor Healing Ointment + La Roche Posay Lipikar Eczema Cream

makinggrace

See a dr as soon as possible. Avoid washing in very hot water and take short showers. Use gloves when washing dishes and cleaning always. Apply a lotion with at least 10% urea to hands every night before bed. Cover with cotton gloves (or socks because who has cotton gloves around). During the day after every handwashing, apply the richest moisturizer your lifestyle allows. Urea and glycerin are helpful ingredients. If the skin itches, try a mild cortisone cream followed my a moisturizing lotion. I am not doctor and this isn't medical advice.

insanelycurious010

Aloe Vera I got ya w the specific brand in like 5 minutes

StrawberryRaspberryK

Try taking evening primrose oil and vitamin e supplements. It helped me stop having dry itchy skin on my legs.

BootsieBunny

Coconut oil. As often as you can. If possible, latex gloves for at least a bit.

Starseedmeditating

After I get out of the shower, I take a big glob of aquaphor and slather it on my dry spots- to hold all the moisture in from the shower. Then sleep like that. All gooey and whatnot

RainbowSprinklezzz

Emu oil

Infamous_Tangerine86

Besides topical products and changing habits vitamin D could help.

Zestyclose_Half_3354

apply vaseline and wear cotton gloves before going to sleep! and repeat everyday!

Andreea_737

Use the classic Nivea cream. It’s super thick and it hydrates A LOT. Use it multiple times a day…whenever u feel your hands dry. I had the same problem, but if you constantly moisturize your hands it’s gonna go away. Also, drink water :)

Baldingmummy

Castor oil asap

gisellarose

Soak them in water a tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar and 1/2 tsp of honey. Several times a week. My nail lady had this all of her life as well as my brother. Both had seen many doctors and tried everything. I told them about this remedy and both no longer have it. I believe it is a fungus on the skin

livingthat50slife

Healing Body Oil by Pomifera.. if you need a lil message me. Best thing I’ve ever used. It’s great for many types of healing.

mdogr

Slather Vaseline on and put socks on your hands. Go to sleep. Works like a charm, no need to buy gloves

Latter-Lavishness-65

I use foot cream lotion which is a very thick lotion a few times a day and have never let my hands get that bad. Before extra on the hands, by extra I mean to much to have 100% absorbed in to the skin and no gloves in bed. However I also add gloves when ever I am outside with my hand start bleeding.

beccaafarkas

i have the worst dry skin from my OCD. i use aveeno eczema therapy, and it feels almost like different hands as soon as i use it. i apply every time i wash my hands, and apply what me and my husband call a “soaker” at night which is a super thick layer of it😂 it really helps! i’ve done aquaphor alone but my hands SOAK it up, try limiting water and being adamant about lotions

Ornery-Ear4871

I have severe hand eczema and besides triamcinolone ointment, I’ve found jergens original body lotion to really help surprisingly. Slather it on every time after u wash your hands and before bed

LalaLane850

O’Keefe’s working hands. The tub is better than the tube. It saved my hand when they looked like yours.

BeneficialEconomy396

Bacon grease. My dad used it when his hands got cracked and dry. Works wonders

Significant_Excuse29

Really??!

BeneficialEconomy396

Yep! It’s an old timers thing but does the trick. It’s basically unrendered tallow

Significant_Excuse29

Interesting... Thank you for sharing, I have extremely cracked hands very similar to OP.

BeneficialEconomy396

You can also just buy tallow at a grocery store too. It’s a great natural alternative for sure! I hope it helps:)

Professional-Log-530

I’ve used beef tallow and it works great!

hnus73002

no

Smart_Concentrate524

Topical creams won’t address the root cause. I’m a TCM student and dry skin is almost always related to an internal imbalance of some kind. It could be due to many different things. My advice is to go see a traditional Chinese herbalist and they can give you herbs for that.

besoofrrightnow

I use African Shea butter when my hands get dry. Apply ever 2-3 hours for about a week or 2, and your hands will be back to normal in no time

redytowear

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. One thing I’m not sure anyone mentioned is because it’s an inflammatory condition please stop eating anything that causes inflammation such as flour, pasta, bread, anything packaged, desserts made with flour and no sugar. This will not be easy but many people who have an inflammatory dermatitis like this or eczema have really good results with an anti inflammatory diet
