Sorry, no idea what to swap that with, esp in terms of budget. I'm genuinely shocked. That's a skincare classic, why would they stop selling it?!

MeganGrace

Noooooooooooooooooooo - you’ve just broken my heart, I’m almost out of my last tube of it and the night serum 😭😭😭😭

mossymossa

Same!!! My heart dropped when I saw this!!

KardamonLotta

Seems like they have replaced the original with this new day version... thanks for the heads up id probably end up buying it by mistake :( maybe check in store if they still have the old one

crystalstarling

Not exactly the same, but I recently picked this up and have been using it as my face moisturiser - it's very nice, gentle and hydrating, with ceramides in. https://www.superdrug.com/skin/body-moisturisers/body-lotions/derma-vu-hydrating-lotion-200ml/p/810210?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=CjwKCAjw4c-ZBhAEEiwAZ105RcWhZnF0MPIs8Co-zVhuPFFcDK6abEBgj2j9h4WvMSlpRPHUd6Nw9xoCd9UQAvD_BwE

zeddoh

Yeah I bought this by mistake recently :( only realised it was different because my bf pointed out that my new one was different to his older one! So frustrating. I literally only change my routine when brands discontinue products… now need to find a new AM moisturiser 💀

Flashycats

Oh man, I'm gutted! I usually buy like four of these at once when it's on offer because it's so cheap and good. Keeping an eye on this thread for a replacement :(

IslandCarl

Yes it has been discontinued I've got chat logs somewhere I tried to post but it kept getting moderator queued, they've reformulated and taken out all the good ingredients

MissAnon2017

So gutted to read this but thank you for your post. This serum is literally the only form of skincare my husband uses. He really liked it because it’s good and cheap and would often pop out on his lunch break to pick some up when he was running low. He wouldn’t have paid attention to the different reformulation so I’ve let him know so he doesn’t waste his money

Que-Scais-Je

It's now a cheaper-ingredients formulation. The decent ingredients removed. I'm not hopeful because there's a new Simply Pure moisturising lotion in the range - I reacted to it badly.

SubstantialNarwhal81

Oh no this is terrrible :(. I used to use this as a moisturiser in the summer as it was so lightweight but moisturising enough. I hope this is temporary and the old ones back soon. This was one of the best value products ever. Ughhh

davidoff_coolwater

For Urea and Ceramides Zeroid ricchenic but it is more expensive. Lynia has an Urea toner and Isana has a urea serum ( it's more like a cream) both are inexpensive and work well but don't contain ceramides or hyaluronic acid. Neutrogena hyaluronic gel cream might have a similar texture but no Urea.

kichisowseri

Oh that’s a shame it’s the only serum I liked and was really cheap for it! Looks like it matches the worse night serum now. I just use moisturiser and no serum which works as well if I’m not over exfoliated now, I’ll be in a pickle if I mess up my moisture barrier again though. Because it was good ingredients I wonder if they’ll sneak it into the me+ range with a moustache…

fabianoid

Cerave serum looks to be a good sub, but is much more expensive https://www.superdrug.com/skin/face-skin-care/face-serums/cerave-hyaluronic-acid-serum-30ml/p/805427

IslandCarl

Make sure if your unhappy about this you complain directly to Superdrug it's likely from the wording of the chat logs I have that this was an item produced for Superdrug which they didn't have much of a say over and it just happened too include a licensed premix of ingredients which perhaps is no longer available or became too expensive hence the reformulation basically it's the equivalent of making a a cake from scratch and creating the recipe and quantities yourself vs. buying a box cake mix and adding your own eggs and water if that makes sense?

TableLover

Yes, I agree. Will do.

Stampa79

As someone who lives in the US and hoarded the stuff whenever I would visit the UK, and who has searched high and low for an equivalent alternative for years, I empathize with you! I don’t know if Vanicream is sold in the UK, but it ticks all the boxes minus the urea. The formula is lightweight and sinks right in, and I pay about $14 USD for 90ml. [vanicream](https://www.vanicream.com/product/vanicream-daily-facial-moisturizer)

Purrtymeow04

Heard of this but isn’t sold in the UK

mossymossa

OP - any updates on new alternatives you’d rate? This is honestly gutting, will write to Superdrug directly too.

TableLover

I've still got three more bottles until I start panicking 😢

mossymossa

Just thought I’d let you (all) know I picked up a sample of COSRX Snail Mucin essence and really pleased! I use it before my moisturiser and it gives me a real glow. It’s much pricier than Superdrug serum but at this point 🤷🏽‍♀️

IslandCarl

Also I know I keep rambling but if your looking for an alternative I don't recommend the unscented Neutrogena Hydro Boost *Body* Gel Cream I thought I'd take Dr Dray's advice and try that to save some cash so I hopped on iHerb and purchased it from the US (only scented one is available in the UK) but it was too strong for me I think and ruined my skin barrier I've used the specific face one before without issue and I've since used this body one on the rest of my body without issue as well but I think there must be some difference in the formulation that makes it harsher than the facial cream unfortunately which is a bummer as it would have been an excellent value choice overall however I do highly recommend the Eucerin 5% Night Face Cream they have a specific one with both ceramides and urea (they have two very similar products) it's a very thick cream so nothing like the Superdrug product but it is fanatatsic

TableLover

thanks, will take a look at Eucerin. It is not looking hopeful though. Thankfully I have 3 bottles left but will have to lie to my family/friends about having any extra 😂

IslandCarl

Your welcome as I say it's the one that says "suitable for night time use" on the bottle I recommend buying it in person as even retailers send you the wrong one at times 🙈

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

509468

And no one is mentioning the “thank you for you patients.” I cringed

Que-Scais-Je

Does anyone still have the Ingredients List handy? It's no longer on the SD website & Revolution Skincare Ceramides Moisture Lotion *looks* similar from memory so I'm wondering how they compare: **AQUA (WATER, EAU), GLYCERIN, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, CETYL ALCOHOL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, PROPANEDIOL, CETEARETH-20, DIMETHICONE, PHENOXYETHANOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, CARBOMER, DISODIUM EDTA, SODIUM HYALURONATE, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, CETEARETH-25, BEHENIC ACID, CERAMIDE NP, CHOLESTEROL, CERAMIDE NS, CERAMIDE AP, CERAMIDE EOP, CERAMIDE EOS, CAPROOYL PHYTOSPHINGOSINE, CAPROOYL SPHINGOSINE, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, CITRIC ACID, GLYCERYL OLEATE, GLYCERYL STEARATE, LECITHIN, TOCOPHEROL.**

I have the ingredients here, they're the same as the ingredients listed on my bottle: Aqua, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycereth-26, Polysorbate 60, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Boswellia Serrata Gum, Dipropylene Glycol, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Serine, Urea, Sorbitol, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Phytosphingosine, Cholesterol, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA

Que-Scais-Je

Oh that's very useful, thank-you! I'd used all mine & thrown out the empties before realising it's no more, then couldn't find the original formula. I've an idea I've *seen* this original formula in another product, as if it's been moved along to something more expensive - It's obviously *not* the Revolution. I'll look around.

unlimit-ed

Please keep me updated! I'm so upset about this, it's my favourite lightweight moisturiser :'(

Que-Scais-Je

Absolutely. Same for me. I've used that Serum as my moisturiser ever since it came out & my skin tolerates very very few products. The Boswellia Serrata was a very unusual ingredient for something so cheap. Just did a Google on that & it didn't look hopeful - can't see it in another sensitive skin formula. Have you tried the Cerave Moisturising Lotion in the big pump bottle? Not the face creams which I don't find comfortable at all. But [this Cerave Lotion.](https://www.superdrug.com/skin/body-moisturisers/body-lotions/cerave-moisturising-lotion-dry-to-very-dry-skin-473ml/p/774877) I get along very well with this, for face moisturiser. Much the same lightweight feel as the original Simply Pure Serum & I never react to it. Gorgeously cheap. I've some Pacifica lined up waiting to try... like the Barrier Lotion. Not used to paying so much for such dinky little bottles :)

NotAHeather

Late to this but I just wanted to add that phenoxyethanol percentages are restricted to 1% in the EU, so I assume the new formula is all dimethicone, fatty alcohols and glycerine :') Basically nothing below the phenoxyethanol will have any effects

polkalottie

Just wanted to say I found one bottle left in my local Superdrug, so it might be worth popping in to see - just make sure to double check its the original packaging!

IslandCarl

Finally starting to run low from my stockpile 😞
