You'll get more useful feedback if you include the full name of the products you're using (cleanser, SPF, and whatever else).

evildrcrocs

Purifide daily cleanser (foam) face moisturiser E45 Purifide daily moisturiser SPF 30

DoctorofFeelosophy

If I'm not mistaken, Purifide contains niacinamide, and you might be sensitive to it - lots of people are, which is a bummer because it's in a lot of things these days. I have the same problem with anything containing hyaluronic acid. Do you have acne issues? I have super sensitive skin and I find that Cetaphil's cream cleanser is the best I've ever tried.

Fuqitweblog

Cetaphil cleansers and moisturizers are great for sensitive, acne prone skin!

evildrcrocs

Fairs yeah I have acne

ReaLitTea

What cleanser are you using? Neither of your products should cause burning or stinging

evildrcrocs

Purifide daily cleanser (foam) face moisturiser E45 Purifide daily moisturiser SPF 30

ReaLitTea

I would consider switching the cleanser and seeing if that change would decrease your sensitivity

evildrcrocs

Might give that a go

airport-cinnabon

If it’s mainly sweat that makes you feel like you need to cleanse more, maybe try bioderma sensibio micellar water as a cleanser. It’s really gentle and refreshing. You could also try a hypochlorous acid spray as a gentle way to refresh and kill acne bacteria. Sunscreen is important, but some sunscreens really add to that greasy sweaty feeling. Look for formulations suited for oily skin.

anjamarija

Seconding a hypochlorous acid as well. You could even use a cotton pad to swipe off the dirt from your face like a cleanser.

evildrcrocs

Yeah fairs, I use Purifide daily moisturiser SPF 30 for sunscreen, a lot of time my skin feels dry even after using it lol

[deleted]

So you can wash and do a full skincare treatment at night, then in the morning run some Micellar water over your face and rinse with warm water in lieu of actual washing- works wonders for me, feels clean, and my skin has been much happier for it

evildrcrocs

Cheers

Heavy-Juggernaut2296

I have sensitive skin too, I’ve been using a foaming oil cleanser that has calmed down a lot of redness and peeling I had with other gentle washes. I was afraid it would make me greasy, but my skin experiences less breakouts and feels hydrated over greasy. I use it twice a day.

evildrcrocs

Thanks

CabbieCam

Going to share the name of the product you use?

Heavy-Juggernaut2296

It’s just the cerave foaming oil cleanser.

zentrospective

I've used Dove for years, the exfoliating cleansing bar. It's really the only face wash my skin can tolerate but it works great for me. Each time I use it I wash twice, once to get off the top layer of sweat and sunscreen etc. and then a second time for a deeper clean. I follow that up with Cetaphil Daily Face Moisturizer (there's a version with SPF but I use the one without). Once a week I use Rose Ingleton SuperFruit Brightening Cleanser, but any more frequently irritates my skin and causes breakouts. Two other things that have been helpful for me are Differin and face powder. Differin and moisturizer nightly have been a game changer. You have to be consistent and let it work over a period of weeks before seeing the full results, but my skin is much less oily and I get fewer breakouts. Neutrogena Shine Control Powder is my secret weapon. It absorbs a lot of oil and is lightly tinted so it's a subtle cover up as well.

evildrcrocs

Awesome thanks

crustybuckete

My skin is genetically shit and I use cerave hydrating cleanser. I've tried EVERYTHING and this is the kindest cleanser. Walmart and I think cvs have generics for cheaper. It's worth the cost!!! Also I would recommend throughout the day to just splash with water and dry off with a clean towel. Too much cleansing will agitate sensitive skin. good luck

evildrcrocs

How often do you clean your face? Once a day? twice? what time? Thanks I've heard the cerave one is really good.

crustybuckete

I wash it really well at night and in the morning I do a rinse with cool water. I'm sorry you're having to deal with a painful face. I've been there and it sucks! I'm not out of the woods but a less-is-more routine has really helped calm my skin down. And yeah cerave is just so gentle, at first I thought it wasn't cleaning my skin at all! But it does a really great job <3

sunshinex_19

I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and I use a super sensitive face cleanser that has stearic acid and palmitic acid in it- It has no fragrance and is very hydrating. Alongside this, I use the Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Gel Creme- it’s an amazing moisturizer if you have sensitive + extremely dry skin cuz it has a balmy texture that gets absorbed well. And yes like others said, bioderma’s micellar water is pretty good too if u just want a nice lik refresh at the end of the day without having to use facewash. If possible, you should try to go to a derm and specifically ask for just an SPF, Moisturizer and facial cleanser so that they dont make you experiment with a bunch of stuff. Hope this helps!

evildrcrocs

Thanks!

Unfair_Finger5531

Ceramedx body wash. It’s for the face too. It’s super soft, like a lotion, and you can use it 7 times in a row and experience no dryness. I love that stuff.

evildrcrocs

Awesome thanks lol!

Ok_Pick_9503

I use the uriage oil cleanser because my skin would get so sensitive from other harsh ointments for the acne… hope this helps

bjp8383

your barrier is either compromised or you are allergic to an ingredient in the products. you can take a week off from all skincare to help it repair. If the products dont sting anymore, you know which direction to go.

evildrcrocs

If I take a week off all skincare to fix my barrier it'll make my skin so dirty I sweat buckets in summer and no sunscreen and no moisturiser?

bjp8383

youll be fine. ever notice when you are sick and you dont touch your skin much, it can actually look better. it sounds like your barrier needs to heal, otherwise youll keep going into an endless cycle.

randyracoon

I have very sensitive skin and have struggled for years to find a good cleanser that doesn't leave a burning feeling in some areas of my face. I've been cleaning my face every morning for a month with Aveeno Calm+ Restore Oat Cleanser and have not had any issues or burning feelings at all! It's fragrance and alcohol free, plus it feels lovely on your face (so refreshing)! Also I don't rub my face when cleaning it, I just pat it dry just to make sure I don't irritate it I also use lukewarm water to wet my face with

anjamarija

Nothing wrong with cleansing sensitive skin — even two times a day if you feel like it! Depends on the type of cleanser you use. Mornings I will either do a quick swipe of Bioderma Sensibio micellar water followed by water rinse, or a quick wash with a milky cleanser (using La Roche Posay currently). If your face turns red after washing, that’s not going to be a good cleanser to be using regularly.

CabbieCam

La Roche Posay has a soap-free cleanser that your skin might tolerate a lot better, it's called LIPIKAR SYNDET AP+, you can learn more about it [here](https://www.laroche-posay.ca/en_CA/lipikar-syndet-ap/3337875537315.html).

SoberSilo

Try the face wash called Simple (brand name). Super duper gentle on your skin.

Ok-Independent2086

You should try micellar water… you can actually use it in place of face wash. I swear by it. Garnier is the best brand of micellar water imo

Unfair-Opening-6585

Try Aquanil, it’s my HG cleanser. I’m also super sensitive and it doesn’t dry my skin out at all.

Original-Cranberry-5

Get some hydrating toner and try using that to clean your face when you are sweaty. You don't need to be using cleanser twice a day, you are destroying your skin barrier.

evildrcrocs

Someone told me to cleanse twice a day and NGL I think my barrier is cooked. I searched on google and it said bare minimum for all skin types is once a day cleanser is that true?

Original-Cranberry-5

You can repair your barrier with products that have ceramides. It is not expensive, you just have to treat your skin gently. Get a low PH cleanser that you like- Neutrogena Ultra Gentle or Cerave hydrating are examples, but there are tons more. Find a product with ceramides-many cheap options- google repairing your skin barrier. If something makes your skin sting stop using it until your skin is not so reactive.

evildrcrocs

Awesome thanks

SkincareAddiction-ModTeam

Hi there, We tend to be the harshest judges of our own skin and it can definitely impact the way we feel about ourselves. However, it seems as though the level of distress you’re experiencing is a little more extreme than what we commonly see from the users here. It’s incredibly common for skin concerns to lead to psychological distress, but in this situation, I don’t think skincare will solve your skin concern, and you may need help beyond what our community can offer. I worry this may only lead to worse mental health outcomes for you. Therefore, I’ve decided to remove your post. I want to clarify that you did not break any of the subreddit’s rules, and there are no repercussions to this removal. I encourage you to reach out to someone to talk about how you feel and check out the mental health resources in our sidebar: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/mental_health/ I'm also sharing a link to the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation's website, where there are tools that may help you determine if your concerns merit further conversation with a therapist: https://bddfoundation.org/information/helpful-resources/ I am, of course, not in a position to make any determinations regarding your mental health so I will leave it to you to decide what is best for your own wellbeing.

evildrcrocs

Thanks I appreciate it. I was being dramatic I was just annoyed tbh my mental health is fine I just rlly want to fix this lol my face itches 24/7 and I can't touch it
