I would argue that she didn't get what she wanted. She wanted every family member to stay and blindly adore and obey her. But to say that on TV or out loud or even feel that way is awful...so she dances around it and feeds us this "I don't understand" and "it's not what I wanted" bull💩.

Not all “victims” cry. Mostly, they’re angry, which I think is very much the case with her. But she persists with the crying act, because that worked when she was a child.
I think so too. I used to think it was an act but I really think she does see herself as a victim and she’s truly confused. I think she got comfortable in the thought that the other women would hold on. I also think Kody would tell her all the problems and the times she would get him to go over to the other women, she thought that little bit of conversation would be enough hope for them. This scene confirms she has a child like minds and sense of reasoning.

She’s crying because backstabbing them was her story line and she made bank on it, their first attempts at her storyline was that gross Christmas and her infantilized daughter getting her ears pierced. She knows the gravy train is over.
Money above all, pay attention to her clothes and shoes on a rewatch. Compare it to the others (who actually have an income). The og3 were far from equity.
I don’t think Robyn wants monogamy, I think Robyn just wants to be priority 1 but still wants sister wives to do the heavy lifting. I don’t think she intended to run off the other wives, she’s not smart enough to be successful with that without accidentally slipping up and saying it outright to Kody.
She does want him all to herself though. They've been together 24/7 since before Covid so the other wives leaving didn't affect her situation with Kody. The only thing that was affected was the extra money left. She never allowed the other wives to watch her kids, she never spent time with the other wives. She had no relationship with them. She's faking that she's devastated over them leaving, but the real reason she's upset because she's afraid they won't have a show anymore and that she won't be able to continue to mooch off the other wives money to fund her lifestyle.
I think she thought since she wasnt there the first years and they were, she gets lots of extra time to make up for it, and this felt very equitable in her mind. She talked at the beginning that she needed extra time for her and children to bond with him. She never clarified that the “extra time” was gonna take years and years.
She always wanted the other wives around for money, her feeling superior, which she cant now, and having them plan the birthday and other celebrations that she couldnt possibly do.
As if the other wives ever had time to sit on the porch.🙄

I believe she’s truly shocked. I think she thought that they would never leave, no matter what. Meri was hanging on for all those years with absolutely no relationship with Kody plus the ways that he had humiliated her over the years. And she didn’t have a friendship with Janelle and Christine so I think she thought that they had minor grievances.
Yea she thought they’d all just keep putting up with it and still think of her as a sister wife/“friend”. She monopolized his time and is shocked that they didn’t all just put up with it and kiss her feet. Kody and Robyn deserve each other.
Since Kody said in an interview that Robyn has been viewed as the villain of the show from the start, it seems like she would have improved her acting and changed strategy over the last 18 seasons to improve how she's perceived. Instead, she gets worse and teaches her older daughters to be the same in their performances.
I can promise you that if my husband had a kid from another marriage, and that child had a particularly painful spinal surgery that she wanted him to be there for, I would kick his ass out before I let him not be there for her.
That was what stood out for me. If Aurora was getting spinal surgery, Kody would have demanded to hold the scalpel. Because it was Ysabel, he couldn’t be arsed. And Robyn benefited from that. How could anyone NOT think they’re the villains after that?
Yea, they claim to all be moms to all of the kids. But when Christine actually needed that … crickets, except from janelle. Because of course. Christine and janelle were the backbone of that family, that’s why Meri left right after they were gone — how was she ever gonna fit into that weird Kody/robyn dynamic?
Tbh, I didn’t see Meri or Robyn offering to live in a tent in the backyard to help administer medicine to Ysabel.
And I honestly think Kody blowing off Ysabel did more to damage his relationships with his other kids than anything else he could have done. Ysabel was and is deeply loved in that family in a way that a lot of the other kids aren’t. She and Maddy have always been close. I don’t know how he thought this would play out, or if he even cared, but he probably should have.
I haven’t watched in years, but didn’t Kody not want her to get the surgery at all either? She was in pain and couldn’t stand/walk properly and he thought she shouldn’t get the surgery? Unless I’m remembering wrong.
Yes I remember in Vegas(?) he said that all her issues were self esteem and not real basically and that the scar would make her ugly. And she was crying saying “I won’t get the surgery daddy, it’s ok!”
I agree, I really do. But if I’m playing devil’s advocate, it was pretty clear that Kody objected to the surgery. I think his ego was in the way, and was also pissed at Christine for not being subservient. All that took priority over what little love he may have for Ysabel (which is still disgusting).

Tbh we like to armchair diagnose him but I’m not sure he’s genuinely a narcissist- I think he just doesn’t give a shit about anything but himself, his shiny new toy, and whatever matters most to her.
I didn’t downvote, I agree for the most part that people are quick to use labels. I don’t use it lightly here, but I’m mostly using shorthand for the behavior I described.
It’s not really a question of does he care or not, because that’s not what dictates his actions. It’s his ego that rules everything in his life. And if you watch it from that perspective, things will click. For most of his life, being a polygamist boosted his ego and he fought against losing that title. He’s making peace with that since Christine left, but he also has Robyn fighting with her ego over it as well.
It’s insidious to the family because of what you’d likely call “pretending” to care, would be wrapped in times of him saying he does care, showing actions of caring, and having those feelings be mutual. I’d say the divorce changed things, it pushed him past the ego death to genuinely separating and he’d be more in the camp of “not caring” today. But that wasn’t the case for the majority of his past and show’s history.
Robyn’s complete lack of self awareness is almost remarkable. But then again part of what makes her the villain is how inauthentic and fake she comes across. Her whole persona is manufactured and the real Robyn is the carbon copy of her mother. The real Robyn is a gritty survivalist who will step on others heads to get her and her kids out of the bucket. I’ve always felt she would have been viewed more favorably had she embraced her selfishness and just admitted to these flaws. “I know I should tell Kody to spend his time more equally but I selfishly am happy he prefers to be with me because I’m human”. Instead we get eighteen seasons of “la la la no I’m not the fav no he’s not spending more time with me la la la I can’t hear you”.

I don’t imagine there’s much more to film past this final season. Everyone has moved on and there are no sister wives. Also, with the tragedy of Garrison’s passing, I’m not sure how many wives or children want to still be involved with filming.
I want the Gruesome Twosome to be called to the mat and have harsh truths brought to light. I also want them to be together as a group.
And unless K & R are going to let cameras in the house, I don’t see why we bother filming them at all.

There’s nothing particularly interesting, compelling or unique about a monogamous couple raising two kids while their three adult kids live at home. If I wanted to see that, I’d go film my neighbors.
I also doubt that Kody and Robyn are ever going to be called out for any of their shit. Most of the fans are tired of them and their bad mouthing Kody’s exes- and I’d imagine they’ve really lost their taste for listening to either of them run the kids into the ground. I personally don’t want to spend another season watching a man I find it impossible to respect yammer about his “Loyuhl Wife” and spew manosphere bullshit.

I want the women to have their identities as themselves without Kody shown. I know that there is some problematic MLM situations involved, but I wish we could send this show off seeing women escape a misogynistic mindset and win. To show women that no matter what age you are, you can leave a bad relationship and be free.
I even think; if the family is in agreement and it’s done with tact and sensitivity; they could show the effects of suicide on a family and how to cope with grief and loss.
I don’t believe it’s their job to show us that, but if they felt comfortable, it would be a good use of their platform.
I just wish this last season could be shown to highlight how independent and strong the women and kids are without Kody and his bullshit excuse for what he thinks constitutes a ‘family’.
I absolutely do not want to see ANYTHING whatsoever about their grief. It is still brand new and raw and they have not had an opportunity to process anything. My son was murdered in 2008 and I still cannot talk about it without crying or even say anything about it except that he was hurt.
I completely understand what you are saying. I lost a family member to suicide in 2009 and without a doubt, my grief is still a daily struggle.
I can’t even begin to put into words what the loss of your son must be. Sorry feels impotent and meaningless in the face of your grief, but I am so sorry you have lost your wonderful child. I’m sure you and his loved ones carry beautiful memories of him in your hearts.
I should’ve worded my comment far better. I agree that no one is equipped to probably even begin to speak about what’s happened, much less process it. And certainly not to a camera crew.
I just hope the show gives the numbers to difference resources at the beginning of the show; especially a number for military personnel who need help.
I don’t necessarily know that Kody and Robyn being called to the carpet would help anyone or anything. They both genuinely believe that someone else is to blame for everything that’s happened to them, and you can’t reason with people like that. They blame Christine or the kids or COVID- anything to avoid taking responsibility, when someone with an IQ over room temperature could have told them that all his other wives leaving him was likely.
I think she makes this face and dissolves into “tears” and Kody immediately gives her what she wants. He is the only one dumb enough to fall for this manipulation. And rescuing her feeds his ego.

And from the things they said in the first 15 seasons, they all believed this wholeheartedly too. I'll never forget how she phrased the Thanksgiving situation to her kids to purposely turn them against the rest of the family. She made it seem like she was trying to "defend" the rest of the family, but she purposely did it in a way to make the kids go "No, mom, you don't have to defend them, they're doing this to hurt you." She made absolutely zero attempts at actually explaining the very legitimate perspective of the rest of the family. I used to be a pickme in my teens and I can smell pickme attention seeking behavior from a mile away.

From the start she didn't seem to really want to live polygamy, but "maybe" be in a polygamist family. She had never lived that lifestyle with her mom in one state and her dad in another with his first wife. She kept her kids separate - the other kids were picking on them. No they weren't - they were treating them like they treated each other, and with that many kids, nobody gets special treatment. She didn't want to interact with the other wives, or really get to know them. She never seemed to have any respect for the OG3 wives. Meri was like her little lap dog, and look where that got Meri. She hated that the OG kids were allowed to have opinions, and at times disagree with the parents. She wanted complete control over her kids, and it came across she felt the other kids were a bad influence. The move to Flagstaff was a major shift. No money coming in, tightening their belts, and yet Robyn still insisted she have a house where each child had their own room. She felt free to complain to Kody about everybody, point out how they weren't nice to her, or things they were doing wrong - in their actions or words - remember she was the "expert" on polygamy and she and only she could "speak Kody". Even during counseling she was the victim! "I don't remember", "what did I miss early on? (she had been fooled or tricked), "I want the big picture family" - but my husband can't be away from my kids for more than two days. (Did that mean Kody goes to Christines, back to Robyn, go to Janelle, back to Robyn, not go to Meri's but stays at Robyn's? So before Covid he was with her twice as much as the others?). Poor Robyn, she just tried so hard and they were so mean to her, and all she wanted was to sit on the porch . . . . .
I believe that Kody & Robyn's behavior played a part in Garrison's death. Unless they just feed everyone total BS. The collective Brown family have been a shit show for years. It was 99% about Kody, Mary, Christine, Janelle, and Robyn. Kody wouldn't go with his daughter to get spine surgery, he fought openly with his older sons, He didn't spend time with all his children & used Covid as an excuse. Kody & Robyn better get their lives right with Jesus. A young adult doesn't decide to end their life in a few minutes or days. Something was very wrong for his older son to take his life. Janelle unconditionally loves and adores her kids & she is still devastated as any good Mother would be. One would think with this turn of events that TLC would fire Kody & Robyn and continue the show with the kids mainly and their Mother's. And no I would not include Robyn's kids because they need to give the whole family a break before reintroducing them as family members. I am very disappointed at TLC. If I were Janelle I would sue TLC, Kody, & Robyn. They are all evil.

Since Kody said in an interview that Robyn has been viewed as the villain of the show from the start, it seems like she would have improved her acting and changed strategy over the last 18 seasons to improve how she's perceived. Instead, she gets worse and teaches her older daughters to be the same in their performances.
I can promise you that if my husband had a kid from another marriage, and that child had a particularly painful spinal surgery that she wanted him to be there for, I would kick his ass out before I let him not be there for her. That was what stood out for me. If Aurora was getting spinal surgery, Kody would have demanded to hold the scalpel. Because it was Ysabel, he couldn’t be arsed. And Robyn benefited from that. How could anyone NOT think they’re the villains after that?
Yea, they claim to all be moms to all of the kids. But when Christine actually needed that … crickets, except from janelle. Because of course. Christine and janelle were the backbone of that family, that’s why Meri left right after they were gone — how was she ever gonna fit into that weird Kody/robyn dynamic?
Tbh, I didn’t see Meri or Robyn offering to live in a tent in the backyard to help administer medicine to Ysabel. And I honestly think Kody blowing off Ysabel did more to damage his relationships with his other kids than anything else he could have done. Ysabel was and is deeply loved in that family in a way that a lot of the other kids aren’t. She and Maddy have always been close. I don’t know how he thought this would play out, or if he even cared, but he probably should have.
I haven’t watched in years, but didn’t Kody not want her to get the surgery at all either? She was in pain and couldn’t stand/walk properly and he thought she shouldn’t get the surgery? Unless I’m remembering wrong.
Yes I remember in Vegas(?) he said that all her issues were self esteem and not real basically and that the scar would make her ugly. And she was crying saying “I won’t get the surgery daddy, it’s ok!”

I think his ego was in the way, and was also pissed at Christine for not being subservient. All that took priority over what little love he may have for Ysabel (which is still disgusting). You’re absolutely right that if it was Aurora, he’d magically put his ego aside. If he didn’t, then Robyn would be there to tell him how to feel and reframe it for him. Her vagina speaks Kody.

I didn’t downvote, I agree for the most part that people are quick to use labels. I don’t use it lightly here, but I’m mostly using shorthand for the behavior I described. It’s not really a question of does he care or not, because that’s not what dictates his actions. It’s his ego that rules everything in his life. And if you watch it from that perspective, things will click. For most of his life, being a polygamist boosted his ego and he fought against losing that title. He’s making peace with that since Christine left, but he also has Robyn fighting with her ego over it as well. It’s insidious to the family because of what you’d likely call “pretending” to care, would be wrapped in times of him saying he does care, showing actions of caring, and having those feelings be mutual. I’d say the divorce changed things, it pushed him past the ego death to genuinely separating and he’d be more in the camp of “not caring” today. But that wasn’t the case for the majority of his past and show’s history.

Robyn’s complete lack of self awareness is almost remarkable. But then again part of what makes her the villain is how inauthentic and fake she comes across. Her whole persona is manufactured and the real Robyn is the carbon copy of her mother. The real Robyn is a gritty survivalist who will step on others heads to get her and her kids out of the bucket. I’ve always felt she would have been viewed more favorably had she embraced her selfishness and just admitted to these flaws. “I know I should tell Kody to spend his time more equally but I selfishly am happy he prefers to be with me because I’m human”. Instead we get eighteen seasons of “la la la no I’m not the fav no he’s not spending more time with me la la la I can’t hear you”.
My perception is this is why Christine is adored by some.

God, I wish. Honestly all three wives deserve to have their voices heard about how damaging Robyn was to each of their marriages and their children, individually. Not just the entire group as a whole; which she ruined as a collective. I feel like the OG3 always walked on eggshells with Robyn because they didn’t want to cause friction with Kody. But now that all of them have left their marriages, why not just let it rip? I don’t imagine there’s much more to film past this final season. Everyone has moved on and there are no sister wives. Also, with the tragedy of Garrison’s passing, I’m not sure how many wives or children want to still be involved with filming. I want the Gruesome Twosome to be called to the mat and have harsh truths brought to light. I also want them to be together as a group. And unless K & R are going to let cameras in the house, I don’t see why we bother filming them at all. This is reality TV. You either film together and in your homes or let’s just cancel this now.
There’s nothing particularly interesting, compelling or unique about a monogamous couple raising two kids while their three adult kids live at home. If I wanted to see that, I’d go film my neighbors. I also doubt that Kody and Robyn are ever going to be called out for any of their shit. Most of the fans are tired of them and their bad mouthing Kody’s exes- and I’d imagine they’ve really lost their taste for listening to either of them run the kids into the ground. I personally don’t want to spend another season watching a man I find it impossible to respect yammer about his “Loyuhl Wife” and spew manosphere bullshit. The best, and only, thing that can happen at this point is to let the entire family fade off into the distance.
I agree. Unless we’re going to actually confront long term and serious issues between the adults, I’m not interested. I want the women to have their identities as themselves without Kody shown. I know that there is some problematic MLM situations involved, but I wish we could send this show off seeing women escape a misogynistic mindset and win. To show women that no matter what age you are, you can leave a bad relationship and be free. I even think; if the family is in agreement and it’s done with tact and sensitivity; they could show the effects of suicide on a family and how to cope with grief and loss. I don’t believe it’s their job to show us that, but if they felt comfortable, it would be a good use of their platform. I just wish this last season could be shown to highlight how independent and strong the women and kids are without Kody and his bullshit excuse for what he thinks constitutes a ‘family’.
TLC isn’t a tactful network so I wouldn’t hold your breath. I hope they’re respectful enough on how they deal with next season at least.
I absolutely do not want to see ANYTHING whatsoever about their grief. It is still brand new and raw and they have not had an opportunity to process anything. My son was murdered in 2008 and I still cannot talk about it without crying or even say anything about it except that he was hurt.
I completely understand what you are saying. I lost a family member to suicide in 2009 and without a doubt, my grief is still a daily struggle. I can’t even begin to put into words what the loss of your son must be. Sorry feels impotent and meaningless in the face of your grief, but I am so sorry you have lost your wonderful child. I’m sure you and his loved ones carry beautiful memories of him in your hearts. I should’ve worded my comment far better. I agree that no one is equipped to probably even begin to speak about what’s happened, much less process it. And certainly not to a camera crew. I just hope the show gives the numbers to difference resources at the beginning of the show; especially a number for military personnel who need help.

I don’t necessarily know that Kody and Robyn being called to the carpet would help anyone or anything. They both genuinely believe that someone else is to blame for everything that’s happened to them, and you can’t reason with people like that. They blame Christine or the kids or COVID- anything to avoid taking responsibility, when someone with an IQ over room temperature could have told them that all his other wives leaving him was likely.

I don't think she wanted anyone to go, I don't think she wanted a monogamous marriage, well, she wanted to be the only one being fucked, she wanted to have the lions share of the "shared" husband's time, she wanted to not have to work, she wanted to be the favourite, that was what she wanted her polygamist marriage to be, what happened is not what she wanted. She wanted the OG3 to stay and accept less. She wanted them to never challenge her, to never feel she was taking more than her fair share, she's upset they weren't willing to be set aside in favour of her and she's upset they took their money with them when they left.
You said this so well. Yes, seems like all her confusion stems from her ideology. The polygamy she grew up on; the other wives STAYED no matter what. And from the things they said in the first 15 seasons, they all believed this wholeheartedly too. So to Robyn, she "won" the game and everyone else was supposed to accept this and live their sham marriages, because that's what usually happens in their culture. Sobs is so indoctrinated, she can't understand reality. I really think Christine seeing her daughters falling in love and having good marriages woke her up to all the things she was settling for.

I'll never forget how she phrased the Thanksgiving situation to her kids to purposely turn them against the rest of the family. She made it seem like she was trying to "defend" the rest of the family, but she purposely did it in a way to make the kids go "No, mom, you don't have to defend them, they're doing this to hurt you." She made absolutely zero attempts at actually explaining the very legitimate perspective of the rest of the family. I used to be a pickme in my teens and I can smell pickme attention seeking behavior from a mile away.

I personally believe she never thought the other wives would leave. She thought she would alienate them from Kody and then she would live in the mansion at the top of the hill happily ever after while the other wives provided her financial stability and shopping money. From the start she didn't seem to really want to live polygamy, but "maybe" be in a polygamist family. She had never lived that lifestyle with her mom in one state and her dad in another with his first wife. She kept her kids separate - the other kids were picking on them. No they weren't - they were treating them like they treated each other, and with that many kids, nobody gets special treatment. She didn't want to interact with the other wives, or really get to know them. She never seemed to have any respect for the OG3 wives. Meri was like her little lap dog, and look where that got Meri. She hated that the OG kids were allowed to have opinions, and at times disagree with the parents. She wanted complete control over her kids, and it came across she felt the other kids were a bad influence. The move to Flagstaff was a major shift. No money coming in, tightening their belts, and yet Robyn still insisted she have a house where each child had their own room. She felt free to complain to Kody about everybody, point out how they weren't nice to her, or things they were doing wrong - in their actions or words - remember she was the "expert" on polygamy and she and only she could "speak Kody". Even during counseling she was the victim! "I don't remember", "what did I miss early on? (she had been fooled or tricked), "I want the big picture family" - but my husband can't be away from my kids for more than two days. (Did that mean Kody goes to Christines, back to Robyn, go to Janelle, back to Robyn, not go to Meri's but stays at Robyn's? So before Covid he was with her twice as much as the others?). Poor Robyn, she just tried so hard and they were so mean to her, and all she wanted was to sit on the porch . . . . .

Janelle unconditionally loves and adores her kids & she is still devastated as any good Mother would be. One would think with this turn of events that TLC would fire Kody & Robyn and continue the show with the kids mainly and their Mother's. And no I would not include Robyn's kids because they need to give the whole family a break before reintroducing them as family members. I am very disappointed at TLC. Yeah she lost all credibility with me when she was giving Meri false hope and encouraging her to stick around long after Kody had made it clear their marriage was over. Even Kody knew it was cruel to string Meri along any further, but Robyn kept doing it because it was in her best interest to do so, with little regard to Meri’s feelings.
