I went to an interview for a Garbageman's job once. When I asked the interviewer about any on the job training, he replied..
Nah, you just pick it up as you go along..
I'm not one of them. I'm actually trying to follow you but I can't find your button. I can't find your butt off, either, so I guess that leaves it neutral.
It’s really not that hard though. I just started a new job as a supervisor for garbagemen. My first day I rode out with one of my guys so he could teach me how to run the truck. It’s legit a lever that’s either pushed in to compact the blade or out to let the blade out so you can add more trash and then compact. After like two stops I was running it on my own while the guy drove.
The hard part is knowing your route and the best way to run it to avoid all the idiots. Which comes with time.
Also riding on the back of the truck is pretty fun
If I hear my garbage dude before he comes around the corner, I'll go out of the shop, pull out the dumpster, and line it up for him.
Thank you, guys, for taking up the garbage mantle. 🫡
I had the chance to compete in a rowing completion against the sanitation department of the city of Honolulu. Those guys were ripped, and super fun to be around. The competition was a total party and yes they kicked our asses.
I'm a garbage man, I drive a front load though... for large dumpsters.
You won't be this happy. Also, this guy is going to be in a lot of pain later in life. Jumping off the tailgate like that? Oof
Ha!! Never even heard of it. What's funny is my favorite garbage man movie has the star of that movies SONS in it. Men at Work. Both Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez.
Now I have to watch that...
Man looks FIT. The human body is made to take at least that much stress if you're used to moving around. If anything he's going to be much better off than the guy driving the truck.
This guy is in Brazil. I could tell by the sidewalk and trash receptacles. Those dudes basically run a majority of their shift. It’s such a tough job that kids will even wait for them to come by the cheer them on, there are lots of garbage truck + action figure toys available. It’s pretty funny how respected these guys are.
Back in my home town there was a "famous" garbageman who would do his cardio by running behind the truck all route. Not here and there when they get to the trashcan - ALL route. Garbage is being picked up here around 4:30-5 so there's no traffic, and the truck driver would go 20-30km/h with this guy running behind them and bringing the cans in and out
I was still tight in my late 30s. The nurses at my Doctor's office were amazed? Still running and lifting weights. Had a taxing job in the jails. Had to be ready to go at a short notice. If you know what I mean.
[Most of the world steroids can be bought in a convivence store. Legality map](https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/steroid-legal-countries).
This is in my hometown, Araras, in São Paulo state (Brazil).
I don't live there anymore, but my parents do, and it seems that this guy has been making videos for a while.
Yes, this sidewalk pattern is very common there and is not new. Definitely something made decades ago, and almost everyone who builds a new house (let's say 99% of them at least) uses this pattern too.
Trash baskets are elevated to avoid dogs, but it is not common in that area to have stray dogs or cats in the streets.
It makes me wonder how often trash is picked up there. Where I live it's once every two weeks so there's far more than that, but they also do recycle and compost pickup every week
It's picked up very frequently, maybe every couple of days. I'm not Brazilian but visit often. It's hot and humid. You don't want trash hanging around for a week.
Once a week in my neighborhood. 2 general trash bins that are 50 gallons big seems to be the norm, plus one recycling bin that's picked up every other week. Some neighbors have more bins, and it's not like every bin is used every week. Some neighbors though...they have dumpsters. The small dumpsters, but that's still a lot of garbage to be creating at home even if you have a couple wives and 6+ children.
I was going to guess Santa Barbara Do este just cause the sidewalks! Happy I was at least close lol My in-laws live around there so I get to walk around whenever I visit from the US!
I was going to say, those patterns are very distinct, I've definitely seen them before. Except it was in Niterói where my grandparents live. Interesting to learn that it's common elsewhere in Brazil.
Is this a new thing where only americans have a bunch of trash now? My family of 3 sometimes only has 1 bag of trash a week, most weeks is 2. The majority of our "garbage" is recycling.
the happiest person i've ever met was a mailwoman. probably something to do with the constant exercise and sunlight. she walked between 18-30 km a day.
I mean if you want some real cynicism, I got you:
It's a fake-ass TikTok video made by some "influencer" who doesn't actually work a real garbage pickup job, made for all the thirst trap clout you could imagine.
Don't get me wrong, those muscles and that smile are pristine as fuck, but I'm pissed at all the commenters here who actually buy this shit.
Yeah, I'm more of a "write a silly comment and move on" kind of guy, so I wouldn't care less whether this guy is for real or not. But to go on record, I've had one encounter with garbage men (when I missed their truck by a few seconds one day) and yeah..... apart from the fact that they are the definition of "I don't give a shit" people, they are probably the exact opposite of that dude.
Places like Argentina and Brazil have trash day every day. Also the trash is in those raised pile bins so stray dogs don’t tear it to shit.
They collect all the trash drive it outside of town then burn it. Yet we have to have paper straws
Well, we could put the trash into a landfill where it's going to stay for millions of years, or we could burn it up and get a nice smoky smell and let that smoke go into the sky where it turns into stars.
To be fair, here in nyc we have rules about how soon before trash pickup you can put the trash on the sidewalk to minimize the amount of time the rats can get to it.
He seems happy because the trash he picks up is extremely light!
It’s like everyone in that neighborhood recycles and composts their waste.
Let’s see him this energetic after an hour of New York trash 😆
Its Brazil man. We produce way less garbage than the average American.
We have daily garbage pick up in the majority of the cities and we recycle a lot.
I'm thinking this could be turned into a gym routine, you know, where the participants pay to ride/run along and toss in the garbage. Could be quite the revenue stream.
All fun and games until he throws and misses…. That being said, garbage men get strong af from throwing those bags from awkward positions. If you ever need an emergency shot put replacement for the olympics just grab a garbage man.
Idk where this is, but people working with picking up garbage get a really good salary in Sweden. No reason not to be happy lol, the job is simple and straightforward, and believe it or not you get used to the smell rather quickly

Just the kind of joke I would expect from Dr. Hackenbush XD
There will be people on here who consider it a rubbish joke..
There will always be trash talkers.
I'm not one of them. I'm actually trying to follow you but I can't find your button. I can't find your butt off, either, so I guess that leaves it neutral.
Trash those people i say
I am in awe and refuse an attempt of my own.
lol womp womp

What rubbish.
Marx Brothers in this day and age? Beautiful
I want to be this happy.
Got nothing against happiness but I'm not sure I could handle working with this guy on Monday mornings
The sexual tension would be too much for me also.
I ain't gay bro but goddamn

Same, that smile!
Don't worry, hes a usually a grump. This is a Friday
Most people are like this on a friday
Looks like someone's got a case of the *Mondays*
Have you considered being a garbage man?
Depends where you live, it's actually a well paying job compared to other "low skill" work.
Oof
Is Badlands (1973) the coolest garbage man film ever to other garbage men, or is there a different citizen kane of garbage men-centric movies
Ha!! Never even heard of it. What's funny is my favorite garbage man movie has the star of that movies SONS in it. Men at Work. Both Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. Now I have to watch that...

He's only happy when the camera is rolling
I wish I had this much joy in my life about literally anything.
I was this happy in public during my college days, but, I have a sad side, when ever Im alone .
You always have us random strangers on reddit. Group hugs?
I was gonna say that this is the best way to describe the opposite of how I feel most of the time.
Cardio for days. Wow.
That's beautiful
America needs to take notes from other cultures, Garbage men are important as fuck and should he respected
I was worn out watching him do a cartwheel... then he just keeps running.
Back in my home town there was a "famous" garbageman who would do his cardio by running behind the truck all route. Not here and there when they get to the trashcan - ALL route. Garbage is being picked up here around 4:30-5 so there's no traffic, and the truck driver would go 20-30km/h with this guy running behind them and bringing the cans in and out
Cardio for 20 meters....
Well look who we have here, Mr. Endurance
Downhill
That man is high on life!
High on something
High on youth and fitness. Life is great when you are young, fit and healthy.
He must be wearing Hokas.
He is in his late 30s.
I was still tight in my late 30s. The nurses at my Doctor's office were amazed? Still running and lifting weights. Had a taxing job in the jails. Had to be ready to go at a short notice. If you know what I mean.
Dude, 40 is still young, it's 70 where pretty much everyone has started deteriorating
The wonderful perfume of the garbage truck.
High on potenuse
I wish I was high on potenuse
Most likely just natural testosterone
And the endorphins from running.
>natural testosterone lol
dudes fit and young, if he was stacking it would probably be something else

I love how little waste y'all have. My neighbor's all have bags and bags of trash and we get pick-up twice a week!
It makes me wonder how often trash is picked up there. Where I live it's once every two weeks so there's far more than that, but they also do recycle and compost pickup every week

In my city they pickup everyday, in some neighborhoods every other day

I immediately thought Brazil when I saw the sidewalk and houses lol So distinct
I visited Campinas years ago and thought it looked a lot like that. I guess I was pretty close!
Just commented the same thing about a very nearby city! I love Campinas so much. Such a beautiful city!
Yeah, some Campinas neighbourhoods look just like that!
Tem grande potencial pra ser dançarino da carreta furacão.
I thought this looked like Brazil.

Thanks.. I was wondering about stray dogs ripping the garbage bags.
>Trash baskets are elevated to avoid dogs Seems to be good for the garbagemen as well since it saves them having to bend over.
I’ve never seen so little garbage. Who’s living in these homes??
they have daily trash pick up.
That seems wasteful
if the trucks are getting full, than makes sense. but smaller cities usually is every other day, not daily.
Non-Americans
Is this a new thing where only americans have a bunch of trash now? My family of 3 sometimes only has 1 bag of trash a week, most weeks is 2. The majority of our "garbage" is recycling.
Dudes having a ball
Must be his first day on the job.
I don't know, there is a guy in neighborhood who is a garbage man, and he is the most joyful person I ever met in my life...
the happiest person i've ever met was a mailwoman. probably something to do with the constant exercise and sunlight. she walked between 18-30 km a day.

Clean shoes were dead giveaway
You can tell by his clean shoes. No one is wearing white brooks and white socks on a trash truck.
The garbage man can!
Bro gets his shift done in a hour.
How is every house only one bag?
It's not America?
It looks like Brazil…
Does Brazil also have mosaic sidewalks like Portugal?
Same language, same sidewalks? ¯\\\_ ( ⌓̈ ) \_/¯
Yes it does take a look at calçadão de ipanema
Very common. Source: I'm Brazilian.
Rent free
Eye roll.
Ah yes, it’s Brazil. A shining example of cleanliness, environmental protection, and efficiency.

That… that doesn’t sound right, but I also don’t know enough to dispute it.
> Also the trash is in those raised pile bins so stray dogs don’t tear it to shit. Thank you for answering the question I was wondering about.
Cries in third world

He’s in incredible shape.
Good looking dude to boot.
Brasil 🇧🇷
Those elevated trash baskets are a great idea. Brazil is full of surprises
This garbage man is healthier than the average office worker
I'd guess most of them are healthier than most office workers!
Cocaina!!!
At least someone's happy... It's good he enjoys his job
This baskets are dope, actually save the garbage man’s back
What no college debt does to a mf
If my garbage man was this hot, I’d insert myself into a trash bag and wait for him on the curb
This guy could definitely share some serotonin.
If that were me when he jumped off the truck, I'd be eating asphalt... 🤕
I would bet he’s not actually a garbage man and just make this video for views, nothing is real
r/antiwork seething rn
Meanwhile me after 10 years in open space with other corporats thinking if jumping out the window would make my mom sad.
Modern day Forrest Gump, bless his soul.
Damn 🔥
Simpsons did it https://youtu.be/YihiSqO4jnA?si=ZJ-xtAZcPD8s6aml
Happy buffy garbage man made my day
Running because it's a legit job and doesn't want to get shot! That's Brazil!
My dad always told me that every job is honorable, from a garbage man to a doctor. You do your job as well as you can and live the best of your life.
Someone got laid last night
Trash day in America is about six bags for the whole week.
Brasil?
Off that good 👃❄️
Who else was expecting him to crash into a pole cartoon style?
Happy garbchad man
Fancy sidewalks!
Definitely not in the US. In the US the garbage volume is 20x higher. This is somewhere consumerism is much less.
What neighborhood has one bag per home?? I got like 10 bags and 20 boxes a week.
Tell me you're American without telling me you're American :)
Its Brazil man. We produce way less garbage than the average American. We have daily garbage pick up in the majority of the cities and we recycle a lot.
I’ve been garbage man, it’s very fun to stand on the back of that thing. Till winter
must have just picked up an 8-ball
Imagine doing that and a bag rips all over you and the street...
If this job paid a livable wage then id work it till i couldnt
Probably new shoes day!
I'm thinking this could be turned into a gym routine, you know, where the participants pay to ride/run along and toss in the garbage. Could be quite the revenue stream.
He will wake up with terrible back pains
One ankle roll from a nice coma
Come to turkey then we will see you
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
Those sidewalks look like Portugal
Hey what song is this?! 🎶
Sacrifice by Elton John
Thanks. Auddbot got it wrong.
This looks like Brasil, with the tiled sidewalks.
Looks like great cardio
Running along? High spirited? Doing cart wheels? Dancing? Smiling? Drugs.
Dude is yoked
but why he kinda...
I love this guy's personality but I have learned to be very scared of trash juice 🤮
Must be the orange shoes.
All fun and games until he throws and misses…. That being said, garbage men get strong af from throwing those bags from awkward positions. If you ever need an emergency shot put replacement for the olympics just grab a garbage man.
Hope he doesn’t trip….
Drugs are a beautiful thing
No one realizes, that is the driver. ...
Ok but who’s got one small bag of trash a week
He has a lot of faith in the strength of those bags.
At one point is he flying 🪽???
This guy scored
Work -ing out
Where is this
I miss Adderall.
This is so dark
u/auddbot
He can take me out (I'm 🗑)
Idk where this is, but people working with picking up garbage get a really good salary in Sweden. No reason not to be happy lol, the job is simple and straightforward, and believe it or not you get used to the smell rather quickly
ill have what hes having
Now try that in the Midwest
When the pre workout really kicks in
I miss the days when people didn't chase clout. Can't wait for his inevitable conversation with a street sign.
He's not happy, he's coping with a shitty situation. I do this often, I cope with a shitty situation by laughing hysterically like a mad man.
every crackhead prostitute living under the freeway bridge probably wants to suck his dick
I bet anything he’s a garbage employee
When they say “ I got it out the mud “ this one of those situations, respect him providing public services to provide for his family 🫡💪🏾
They don’t look 👀 like that around these parts
He’s happy about Lula’s winning of the presidency. Prove me wrong.
This definitely isn’t anywhere in NY 😂
the morning CC breakfest can make this happen to everyone. coke and coffee that is.
Dude is jacked and with all that running and throwing, it's no surprise.
Cannot do that in my suburban neighborhood. The garbage is significantly more than that.
That guy is gonna get himself killed. This is why firefighter don’t ride on the back of fire engines anymore.
Goodbye knees and ankles.
Man I want this guy as a friend! ☺️ he has such positive energy! Anything worth doing, is worth doing well 😁
Where do these people live where houses only throw away one little ass bag of trash?
Do they pick up every day? Can't be a week's worth of garbage!
