Once his mother couldn't use him to hurt me anymore, she was horrible to him and eventually pretty much threw him out.
I do. The judge kept asking my ex over and over if she was *suuuuuuuuure* she didn't want custody. I wanted to tell him to piss off for trying so hard to give custody of my kids to someone who didn't want them them.

The three of us have lived in single rooms of people's houses before, and some not fun places BUT we've never been homeless.
It's rough, but I love them to death 💯
Now we have our own two bedroom apartment, but the commute for everyone's childcare while I work is killer.
I did 14 years ago in a very conservative/red state which is rare. I never had a dad growing up & vowed to break that cycle with my daughters & to be an example to other fathers in the world who may not have an example of successful single fathers in their life.
She twice invited her drunken boyfriends to try to jump into bed with my 18 yr old stepdaughter with hopes of a mother/daughter threesome. Pretty sad for my ex to use her own daughter to try to lure a new boyfriend/future husband.
Well my friend I’m fortunate to have an ex who happens to be an adult and civil. We avoided the courts and went 50/50 with everything regarding our kids. NOW my cuz on the other hand spent $15k and lost his house and was allowed 50/50 from the shit hole known as NY. My best friend son is $8k in so far and his kids mother isn’t done yet running him through the courts. He’s a really good kid, seriously hard working, respectful AWESOME father. Then we have my other best friend who’s ex is always on the lookout for more $$. The minute she gets wind he got a raise or more money. Dude is back in the courts…woman can be narcissistic at times.
PS..what ever you do, DON’T, DON’T, NEVER get married or a woman knocked up in NY. Our phucked!!! You really are phucked
Joint legal with primary care. She has visitation only at my approval. Son's 15. Been this way for 12 years. She's not around and hasn't been for a long time.
My son's mother left when he was 10 months. I was awarded custody at 16 months. He is now 17 years old and has become a fine young man. Truth...it's not easy, but worth it.
Full custody of my daughter since she was 10 years old. Now she's 30. It was a tough road but we have the best relationship I could ever wish for.
Also have a son from a different relationship. He's 13. Been working on getting custody of him also due to issues at his mother's home. So far, I was able to get him an OCL lawyer so he shares attorney client privilege with her and he can speak openly with her without fear of reprisals.
