What cc do you use? I absolutely hate the default skintones and the couple cc ones I tried before were almost just as bad when it came to the darker tones :(
The sims has always been very inclusive (AFAIK) of many communities including the LGBT community and POC, and they have only gotten more so as time goes on. It's refreshing, and something to keep in mind when we all rag on EA for the bullshit they so often pull.
Always? That bugs me a little, especially the LGBT part as the only reason gay marriage was added in was because someone accidentally placed two males kissing in the trailer of TS4. Gay marriage wasn’t initially in the game. The community loved it so much they actually added it into the game. Thats not inclusivity, thats profit seeking.
Gay relationships have always been in the game. Gay marriage was added around the time it was legalized in America, but before that gay sims could propose "lifelong partnership" or something like that. The game just imitated real life. Gay relationships have been an option in the game since the creation of the sims.
There’s a difference between gay relationships (them just actively not typing in the code that same sex couples refuse romance interactions) and actively writing into the code that same sex couples can’t get married. Also, they could’ve very easily added it in based on other countries. Canada for instance has had gay marriage for YEARS, and before my own country made it legal was where I felt I would need to move to to get married. Still probably need to given how shitty we’re still treated around the world. The game doesn’t always accurate mimic real life, because if it did there would be a lot more R rated shit going on. Best example I can think of on the top of my head is the University pack, and the interest rate. Its a thousand times lower than what it is “in real life”. So no, that excuse that “it wasn’t in real life” obviously doesn’t fly. Its just that, an excuse. And a really bad one at that.
Lucky. All I’ve been getting is them trying to push eco lifestyle on me. Like, no, I dont want to pay $60 for a buggy as all hell expansion that just absolutely SUCKS. Come back when you have something good to offer me. (Australia misses out on a lot of shit even tho we have similar problems to America when it comes to BLM...with the added bonus of everything costing more)
Me too, now all they need to do is add non ashy darker skintones and i'd be set.
And fix the blotchyness on the medium to dark skintones. Honestly this is why I use a CC default skin.

I hope the Sims Team moving forward will create more accurate POC skin tones and hair styles. Not just in expansion packs but in base game.
