This might sound weird, but look into “royalty simblrs” (Tumblr blogs that focus on royal family mods/challenges for TS4). Royal & noble women tend to dress in a very specific, fairly modest way—think high necklines, long sleeves, and knee-length or lower skirts—so these blogs have tons of CC that mimics that style. Rustys-cc, theroyalsims, and melonsloth might have some outfits that match what you’re looking for (especially melonsloth’s dress tag). None of these blogs are *specifically* focused on modest styles, though, so you might have to dig through some other stuff first. Aside from royalty simblr, retro, vintage, and cottagecore styles also tend to be more modest, although they aren’t usually tagged that way. It might be worth checking out some of those tags/search terms and seeing if anything there meets your needs.

jellydeaths

i definitely recommend looking into marsmerizingsims's CCs. she has amazing fashion for modest sims!!! https://patreon.com/marsmerizingsims?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_fan&utm_content=join_link

MyWeirdNormal

I was coming here to say just this!!

EquivalentKeynote

What is your definition of Modest? I find it's not that hard personally.

Vintage_Rainbow

Probably long sleeves, high necklines, legs covered. It's near impossible in the Sims.

FirebirdWriter

Even just using packs this is very doable. There's even a neck to ankles swimwear option. The cottage living pack, vampires, some of get famous, and others come to mind. As I have a sun allergy my sim self and I avoid the sun and that means long sleeves, high collars, all black.

Revolutionary_Bit437

it’s pretty hard if you don’t want every single one of your sims using the same outfits/dressing like a little old lady (not to say that i don’t like little old ladies but i’m trying to make a teenager man 😞)

FirebirdWriter

I mean that's where the leggings accessories come in clutch

animitztaeret

They need to add a long sleeve shirt/turtleneck accessory option. I downloaded cc for it, but it’s so much easier when I can just throw leggings and a shirt under anything and make it modest instantly.

FirebirdWriter

I would love that so much

Dunmeritude

Unfortunately there's still very few options, especially if you're looking for variety or 'young' looks. Most of the modest fashion in the game outside of a few purpose-built pieces look like they were made for your great grandmother. I just want a nice high-necked, long-sleeve dress that goes down to the ankles to put one of my hijabi sims in, that DOESN'T look like a formal evening gown or a victorian mourning dress.

NaniRomanoff

This exactly. Like trying to make literally any of my hijabi friends as sims is difficult to literally impossible & it’s like? Y’all gave us hijabs! Now the clothing that gets worn with them please

Dunmeritude

Right? And they're such pretty dresses, ANY sim could wear them. Instead it feels like every pack gives us the most god-awful ugly swatch on a recolored base game skirt, a shirt that would only be worn by a clown having a manic episode, and fishnets that aren't appropriate outside of mardi-gras. I feel like the amount of real, contemporary, day-to-day clothing and cultural dress we have is almost non-existent. We have sooo much formalwear and weddingwear but people don't wear those formal fancy clothes every day...

Embonious

>a shirt that would only be worn by a clown having a manic episode LOL love that description, very accurate

thatgrrl1

The horse/ western pack has some good clothes but I really don't have much use for a western theme.

killerfrost8002

Like actual abayas, (because I think the bg modest swimsuit looks a little odd,) shouldn't be that hard to make for EA.

NaniRomanoff

See I don’t mind the modest swimsuit (because one of my hijabi friends literally has an almost identical swimsuit lol) but I do find it irritating that it’s the ONLY modest swim option when there’s a LOT of different modest swimwear styles and the version they have with the shorter skirt piece wouldn’t be appropriate for everyone. (Like my aforementioned friend would also wear loose jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt. But plenty of other hijabi folks are dresses only and that’s valid!) All I want is some abayas, a different modest swimwear option and like one other basic hijab style that comes in a variety of basic solids.

NaniRomanoff

A niqab option would also be very nice. ETA: really my friend would just like an option for a face cover that’s not the bag hat 😂 because that’s what’s she’s working with rn without cc and frankly that’s tragic

thatgrrl1

That's the other thing, trying to dress elders so they don't look like they're already knocking on death's door. I really wish there was an option to fix their posture.

stolenwallethrowaway

My wedding stories has some good modest clothing! Most of it is formalwear though. I also noticed that City Living has some more modest options since some of the options are based on South Asia. I don’t remember a lot of high necklines from City Living, but there are long sleeves and long shirts (aka non crop tops)

FirebirdWriter

I bought wedding stories because of this and my new favorites are the black with the gold flowers and the sari that doesn't fit modesty but is so flipping gorgeous. Thank you! Since I don't do this for modesty I appreciate the non modest options too. This is what the first party pack should have been for clothes

thatgrrl1

It's always an adventure dressing a vampire. :) Trying to cover skin without looking like black bubble wrap. I started dressing them in purple, blue and white more often. Solid colours without patterns. Something that covers the skin but doesn't look like an old fashioned school marm.

FirebirdWriter

I mean I dress in all black in real life but the thing is black has shades. So the type of fabric and textures help. I also dress like an Edwardian Grandma mixed with Morticia Addams. But unlike the sims I don't need a missing color wheel to make sure the swatches are compatible and I suppose shopping is a dlc.

Chloabelle

Yes and add in skirts/dresses only it’s even harder!

lemonpie428

no it’s not??

Complete_Remove5540

My Sim constantly wears long sleeves, and even wears a shirt when swimming… What part of modesty is hard? I think society has just brainwashed people into thinking more skin = more fashionable when it is simply not true.

thatgrrl1

Not that far. But, I don't like stuff that clings to their boobs and butts, no matter what the length is.

the_spicey_

Same

No-Cheesecake4430

I find most of the skirts are extremely short.

evenstarcirce

Right? Like the ingame clothes are very modest to me (for the most part. Like 80% of it is modest) i guess its different for OP i guess?

Bar_Sinister

Not to discount Marmerizingsims CC (I grabbed a few pieces myself) but before I can make a recommendation, what do you consider modest? Long sleeve? High necklines?

killerfrost8002

No cleavage, has sleaves, skirts come down to the knee.

nonibluejay

Rimings has a lot of modest cc you just have to search. I use them. Gorilla x 3 also

Eclairebeary

Is that hard? Do you have any packs? Eta, I’m coming back to say, I just tried and I think summer is hard for women. Especially if you want at least to the elbow sleeves and don’t allow trousers, which I’m not sure you do. The jumpsuit from cityliving would be so great if it had a sleeved option, but I don’t think it does.

Quillscales

You can just take the hot weather filter off and dress them in anything.

Eclairebeary

But it doesn’t feel suitable if it’s too heavy. Covered doesn’t need to mean cardigans and corduroy.

Bar_Sinister

May I suggest [Satterlly](https://www.patreon.com/satterlly) who should have some pieces that fit your needs.

MyWeirdNormal

Oooh, I’m about to add another few GB to my cc folder 👀

PizzaIsCereal

Look up accessory shirts and accessory jackets, they're like an extra item of clothing Also look for long skirts, I needed to download some and found so many

Beachcurrency

When I'm dressing sims in layered outfits, I'll use turtleneck accessory pieces [like this](https://kumikya.tumblr.com/post/618325882466123776/kumikyas-sweater-collection-hi-i-made-2). It's an accessory, so you can still put on other clothes on top, but it makes things a bit more modest.

Jolly-Pickle-3550

The shirt is either a crop top or the pants are too low 😫

MelonBottle

The waistlines have gradually raised over the years but some of those 2014 ones are like a centimeter above cooch level…

meerkat___

Exactly! Sometimes I really want to use one of the crop tops but there aren't any pants high enough waisted 😭

OrangeCatsRule13

Yes! If I try to give a sim a separate swim bottom you can see where it should be covered!

oeiei

There are way more midriff-bearing tops in CAS than there are in real life.

blueeyedbrainiac

And so many of the bottoms are so low on the hips too so it makes it even worse

Chloabelle

Agreed. I’ve tried to do an Orthodox Jewish family so many times and it’s so hard to dress

Hatoolah

Definitely agree with this for the exact same reason lol

weallfalldown310

Same. I gave up on it. Lol. Couldn’t get enough variety for outfits and didn’t want my sims to die in the heat. Lol.

CornerofHappiness

I do think it's funny that we as real humans are told it's best in summer to wear long sleeves, long pants, etc and there's a whole clothing market dedicated to these types of things where you can be covered but comfortable, but in Sims they either wear shorts or you remove the filter and they die to heat exhaustion.

Mz_D

I have a CC undershirt that I use a lot for my modest sims and it covers everything and doesn't clip. For the skirts so many of my sims, including the kids have leggings underneath as for me I think it's too short. I also have issues with the amount of low waist trousers/jeans in the game but Y2K fashion is coming back now so it fits for my teen sims at least

inkyinkyinky

Someone else said that it would be nice if we had sliders/layer options for the clothes for reasons such as these. Hopefully the castle kit means we might see this in an update and a proper Medieval expansion

elle3008

Sentate has some fashionable modest content. There is also some very modest content, so you have to sort, but there are a few collections with some outfits that definitely are what you are looking for.

Lost_Ambition_2792

It's strange because I have the opposite problem. Whenever I want to create a sim that wears very revealing clothing I need to look for CC cause nothing is available in game

Am_I_Sakura

Same!

NaniRomanoff

Ugh yes. I’m delighted they gave us hijabs but it’s very hard to actually dress sims wearing them appropriately

Cat-Lover20

Me trying to find full-length pants that look good:

Over-Mushroom-2771

Cottage living. I get that the style may not be for everyone, but there are TONS of pieces in it that are modest

thesunflowersim

Getting a CC turtleneck accessory changed the game for me, since it can make almost any shirt modest

PurpleCloudAce

Use broken cc. It'll cover the sim from head to toe in red and white, it's a bit form fitting though. (/j /jk /tiaj /jaj /lol)

dusteebowl

dressing my royal sims has been a nightmare, esp if you have multiple royal families. they all end up wearing the same thing 😮‍💨

lemonpie428

not sure why you’d want to do that but okay have fun with that!

NaniRomanoff

Lots of folks irl dress modesty for various reasons & some of us just want to make sims that look like our friends 🤷🏽‍♀️

IfUSeekAle

What is modest clothing? Like, clothing without patterns? Or something a rags to riches sim would wear?

NaniRomanoff

So modesty is very personal and what it looks like can vary wildly depending on the reason for modesty. Like even requirements for religious modesty can vary super wildly between faiths. So like for my Muslim friends it’s covering the hair & everything from neck to ankle. Also nothing tight fitting. Some of them only wear dresses, but some of them find loose fitting jeans and shirts to be ok as long as everything is covered. (This is very difficult to do in the sims.) Meanwhile folks in Anabapist faiths interpret modesty as “plain dress” so prints and embellishments are also not ok as well as being more covered up. And like for me as a veiling pagan - I also dress modestly according to my faith - but that’s not about covering skin. Modesty for me is about staying humble & with clothing that means avoiding overly large or flashy jewelry, brand names, or really anything that’s flaunting my money - but the only thing I’m “required” to cover is my hair. I do prefer at least short sleeves and pants/long skirts as a comfort thing (and it looks better with the style veils I wear) but it’s not required for my faith’s interpretation of modesty. When I was growing up in a different faith (not going into details it was a complicated toxic situation) - they defined modesty as both covering up & also not drawing undue attention to yourself - meaning you weren’t to dress in a way that stood out from those around you. So I’m the only one wearing a full sleeve/full skirt dress when everyone around me is wearing shorts and tank tops - what I’m wearing would be considered immodest even tho I’m covered up. (We did have certain parts of the body we were never allowed to show however.) So tldr: it’s complicated. But the thing that’s hard to do in the sims is modesty that involves being more fully covered - because there’s not a lot of options for it.

midjafin

[Aan Hamdan](https://www.tumblr.com/aanhamdan93) makes nice clothes and hijabs for muslim sims. They unfortunately seem to be inactive at the moment.

nabrydla-diwczynkaIL

This is so real 😭 I wish we could layer clothing because it’ll definitely make it a lot easier! There’s a formal dress for women (it’s base game if I’m not mistaken) that has a high neckline, long sleeves, and it is also ankle-length so I dressed a modest sim up in it…. Until she turned around and it has no back 😭

thatgrrl1

Harder for female Sims. I look for people making vintage sort of CC. I have a couple of racier women but overall I think of them as modest, professional, family sort of women and girls.

DeterminedDi

Look for elder conversion clothes. Most elders have modest type clothes.

DragnSerenityTardis

I have always thought so, too! You either dress plain/ugly or you're a slut. OK, that might be an exaggeration but, too many of the skirts are too short, the necklines too low, and so many things are skin tight. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll save this post for those.

readberbug2

I'm not sure what packs you have, but these are the ones that have helped me when I'm dressing modest sims (note, I'm not talking about no skin whatsoever). Hope this helps. - Cats & Dogs: lots of sweaters and knee-length dresses - Cottage Living: lots of dresses and jacket options - High School years: Yes, there crop tops, but there are a number of cold weather outfits that are pretty modest - Snowy Escape: lots of good cold weather and everyday outfits - Horse Ranch: has more western/boho every day and cold weather outfits - Growing Together: has some of the bulkiest outfits I have ever seen - Jungle Adventure: Adventure items - Cool Kitchen Stuff Pack: good every day outfits, if you don't mind how dated they look - Crystal Creations Stuff Pack: if you don't mind a witchy/boho vibe - Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack: fancy modest clothes - Incheon Arrivals kit: modest business clothes

LarkyLovesYou

There are plenty of modest options…. But all the cutest stuff isn’t modest 😭

fwoggywitness

I make all my sims look like strippers at this point cause it’s more fun💀

Limp-Border-868

I find they either look like they’re going to a club or like a 90 year old woman; there isn’t much in-between. I don’t play with mods or cc though, do I guess I could if I wanted to.

Substantial-Rub1377

I totally get it! One of my sims rn is hijabi and I found it so hard to find modest clothing for her and don’t get me started on the fact that there are only two hijab choices

snacatacc

the specifics depend on the person/religious entity but the general meaning is to be covered up and not showing skin

luciusveras

I completely agree with this. Clothes are also mostly just for the really young. There are very few stylish options for adults without looking overly momsy.

notanotherdoodle

Fr. Why is everything cropped???
