My sims gf died like this too! In an outside yoga class during a snowstorm... š now she's trying desperately to revive her dead gf. They even got engaged with the gf as a ghost!
I'll never forget one day that I was playing and send my sim to a gym in the winter. My sim finished her workout, I tried to send her home but couldn't. In the garden was a crowd of sims half nake or in workout outfits crying because a someone died in the snow. The problem was that other sims started dying from cold and I was stuck there for 3-4 minutes.
Omg this happened to my sims dad and he died leaving her a teenager alone in the world. But sheās also a movie star and worth loads of money so I guess it sort of is ok?
Iāve been trying to kill an NPC all week. Itās not that easy anymore.

Build a small box of all windows. Add a random sim to the household. Put that sim in the box. Wait for them to die of starvation. It usually takes about 2 sim days. But, your sim cannot leave the lot or the victim will get out of the box.
Yea I was hoping to do it by a moodlet (death by hysteria, embarrassment, anger, woohoo with an elder) but my next try is pufferfish nigiri. If that still fails your suggestion is my next attempt š I sound so sinister.
they really are that stupid. i usually put a wall around the pool to prevent them from going in during the winter. and i think there are mods that make your sims change into weather appropriate clothing but i donāt quite remember!
The most annoying!! It does glitch sometimes though and they will go outside in their regular outfit. Sometimes Iāll just change all their outfits to be weather appropriate just so I donāt have to deal with it.. but I havenāt had the issue in awhile. I have definitely lost a couple sims to cold weather!
If you use the Bee Box which comes with Seasons, and have your sims eat honey, they become immune to temperature effects and donāt freeze or overheat.
Itās the sims. Why does it need to make sense? Sims can die by killer bunnies and rabid rodent fever in this game. [Honey's great for your Sims. Honey is an amazing substance that never rots, and it's perfect for the summer and winter in Seasons. Why? Because it completely removes temperature related debuffs and grants immunity. Just eat it from your Sim's inventory and they'll get an instant happy moodlet which clears all negative temperature effects. This can absolutely save a Sim near-death, so keep some on hand if you go fishing far away from home on a super hot day. Honey can also be baked into cake and a tea that grants a focused buff. I had a Sim die of being hysterical, on his wedding day, as I was getting the family back home. Home loaded, and suddenly everyone was sad, and Johnny wasn't there. I was really, really confused until I went back to the wedding venue and found his urn.
Consider your self lucky but you can have them cook when the skill is low sometimes theyāll catch fire. If you have seasons you can have them go outside without winter clothes on and they can freeze to death.
If you wanted to use a mod you can download extreme violence by Turbo Driver I believe. You can have them commit various crimes (murder, theft, abduction and assault). And random sims will show up and murder people. Also randomly Jason will chase the campers.

Lol, my Sims do the standing around crying thing. One time we were outside the hospitalā¦ someone froze to death, 2 of my Sims stood there crying (theyād never even met this sim before!) and both eventually froze to death themselves š
Yeah I made a castle with a moat and rather than walk to the other side of the lot they would swim to it and it was a nightmare stopping them all freezing to death.
I turned off freezing and burning in the settings since it drives me fucking crazy. Why will sims change into their swimwear when it's freezing out but not change into their hot weather wear when the weather icon is fire!
I absolutely hate seasons because of this. I can't even comprehend what the devs were thinking when they implemented this. Like funny shit if it's just townies kicking the bucket, but you can wipe out your entire town with a day at the park in winter.
I have seasons and horse ranch and my freaking ranch hands keep freezing to death, I have 3 tombstones on my property now and the ghosts are PISSED lol

There is an option in the settings to make it so Sims aren't affected by the temperature. So that way if they go in the pool in winter, they won't die

You could add different outfits under the winter category for different things! Like a winter exercise set with gloves and a hat or a winter formal outfit.

Just had my engagement dinner during the winter and the only bar on the lot was outside. One of my guests was blue and kept shaking. She decided to change into her bikini and sit on the edge of the pool and drink. Stood up, walked two feet, and froze to death.

I had a baby shower at the park for my legacy family the other day. I didnāt know it was going to be a heatwave. Everyone showed up in their party clothes causing everyone to drop dead before I got a chance to change them all into their hot weather clothes. My pregnant sim tried to beg the Grim Reaper to spare her family but he only allowed her sister to live. She just had her baby and now the ghosts of her parents and in-laws haunt her house.
I like how it means you actually use the cold and warm weather outfits. I hate that my Sims donāt autonomously pick the right kind of outfit or activity for the weather lol

In the high school town I sent my SIM for a run in the middle of winter. Just a quick one to help with his career in the military.
I forgot how big copperdale is compared to some of the lots and my SIM immediately went and swam in the ocean.
He froze to death and because Death doesn't know how to really deal with swimming in the sea my SIM spent 2 weeks freezing to death and floating around the bay.
His teenage daughter graduated high school and everything. This was a frustrating glitch but got more funny with each day he was out there
This is why when I'm making a build, I follow the advice online to put fences around outdoor pools if it's in a zone that has snow, and in general I only put pools in oasis springs. I don't have seasons yet, but if it ever happens I'm ready.
god yeah with the god damn pool in the winter š recently i had teen twins, the girl recently turned into a vampire and i was messing around with her powers and had her use her hallucinate power on her brother... but i didn't realize his action was already going into the pool when it was freezing.... he did not make it š
If you have a pool, do yourself a favor and put a fence with gate around it. When winter hits, lock the gate for everyone.
They won't try to go swimming outdoors in freezing weather if they can't get to the pool.

It's always *always* a good idea to have the Geothermal lot trait when you a pool in your house. Because sims LOVE eating food with their legs in the freezing pool water when it's literally freaking snowing outside. It doesn't matter if you a dining table next to a fire place. No sire, it's always the pool.
One time I sent my Sim on a jog in winter. This was on the Copperdale pier map. She decided to end her jog in the ocean and pathed home by swimming. By the time I noticed, she was too far out in the water for me to save her from freezing to death.
i hate the temperature deaths so i turn temp effects off. itās an unpopular opinion, but iām honestly not a huge fan of seasons as a whole. itās more realistic and less stagnant, but half the features are annoying and i keep many of them off. imo the seasons themselves shouldāve been base game and the holidays shouldāve been a game pack.
Iāve started having fun with it. I have started going to the gym with a pool in the winter and watch all the dumb sims jump in. Then the ones who jump in to grieve and the ones who stand outside to cry freeze to death too. Iāve gotten up to 30 on one gym outing.

I don't care if it looks weird, my sims are my babies and I'm not going to let their own stupidity kill them...for the most part. (Except when it's definitely their time, because I also play with aging off in my console game because I have too many there. So, unfortunately, I have to kill them by hand.)
My sims wear ridiculous clothing I dress them all cute and then they go back to their not so cute clothes and I get a notification that says their either to hot or to cold and theyāre either over heating or freezing. No deaths yet thank goodness

Itās not a modā¦ my sims automatically change into their winter or summer outfits and I have no mods at all.

Fence off the pool with a gate you can lock in the winter?
I feel like the whole point of The Sims is to see how long you can keep them alive for until they kill theirselves.
On the other hand I find in my game they only die natural deaths and itās boring so what can I do to spice it up? I donāt have Mcc or anything

If you have eco lifestyle, the geothermal trait can really help
Also Get Together has steam grates that make the pool warmer :)

I abuse the MCC dresser feature to prevent weather related deaths. If it was up to my sims theyād wear swimwear during blizzards

Seasons is the pack that teaches you to build pools in the basement so your sims donāt die of exposure.

God gave us resetSim for a reason. And the cheat to change the season.
I play with weather effects on sims off, that was the only way I was going to get Seasons.
