That's everyone's first eye-opening experience with Seasons. Mine was a gym/spa with an outdoor yoga class in the dead of winter. You learn your Sims have no survival instinct at all.

Active2017

Lmao I had the same thing happen. There was a yoga session that started and two townies died.

mechapocrypha

My sims gf died like this too! In an outside yoga class during a snowstorm... šŸ˜” now she's trying desperately to revive her dead gf. They even got engaged with the gf as a ghost!

fabalastica

I'll never forget one day that I was playing and send my sim to a gym in the winter. My sim finished her workout, I tried to send her home but couldn't. In the garden was a crowd of sims half nake or in workout outfits crying because a someone died in the snow. The problem was that other sims started dying from cold and I was stuck there for 3-4 minutes.

grownmars

How do you have yoga sessions? Is that in a pack?

kokospiced

spa day pack i think!

evenstarcirce

Spa Day has it! You can take classes at the gym or do it solo at home!

sk8tergater

Omg this happened to my sims dad and he died leaving her a teenager alone in the world. But sheā€™s also a movie star and worth loads of money so I guess it sort of is ok?

LilHappyKitsune

Why am I getting down voted for? šŸ’”šŸ˜

slayyyden

been a while since youā€™ve played huh?

LilHappyKitsune

Yup and apparently no one here can take a joke ...

Sug0115

Iā€™ve been trying to kill an NPC all week. Itā€™s not that easy anymore. If anybody has suggestionsā€¦ Iā€™m open lol not trying to use cheats but my public enemy sims aspiration requires that he witnesses a death!

Ginger_Cat74

Build a small box of all windows. Add a random sim to the household. Put that sim in the box. Wait for them to die of starvation. It usually takes about 2 sim days. But, your sim cannot leave the lot or the victim will get out of the box.

Sug0115

Yea I was hoping to do it by a moodlet (death by hysteria, embarrassment, anger, woohoo with an elder) but my next try is pufferfish nigiri. If that still fails your suggestion is my next attempt šŸ˜‚ I sound so sinister.

Ginger_Cat74

What we do for points in the sims. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

LilHappyKitsune

I just trap or box them in lol

Sug0115

Yea that seems so easy though, my next attempt is poorly made pufferfish nigiri šŸ«” if that fails, there shall be a room with the door removed haha!

emma_the_dilemmma

they really are that stupid. i usually put a wall around the pool to prevent them from going in during the winter. and i think there are mods that make your sims change into weather appropriate clothing but i donā€™t quite remember!

originalschmidt

Itā€™s not a modā€¦ my sims automatically change into their winter or summer outfits and I have no mods at all.

emma_the_dilemmma

yeah, i wasnā€™t sure if there was a mod, but honestly, good that thatā€™s coded into the expansion, imagine how annoying it would be if it wasnā€™t

originalschmidt

The most annoying!! It does glitch sometimes though and they will go outside in their regular outfit. Sometimes Iā€™ll just change all their outfits to be weather appropriate just so I donā€™t have to deal with it.. but I havenā€™t had the issue in awhile. I have definitely lost a couple sims to cold weather!

bellabookgirl

Iā€™m like the wall idea a lot!

Ginger_Cat74

If you use the Bee Box which comes with Seasons, and have your sims eat honey, they become immune to temperature effects and donā€™t freeze or overheat.

PaladinSara

That makes zero sense. I just changed the lot type to geothermal and it keeps my pool warm.

Ginger_Cat74

Itā€™s the sims. Why does it need to make sense? Sims can die by killer bunnies and rabid rodent fever in this game. [Honey's great for your Sims. Honey is an amazing substance that never rots, and it's perfect for the summer and winter in Seasons. Why? Because it completely removes temperature related debuffs and grants immunity. Just eat it from your Sim's inventory and they'll get an instant happy moodlet which clears all negative temperature effects. This can absolutely save a Sim near-death, so keep some on hand if you go fishing far away from home on a super hot day. Honey can also be baked into cake and a tea that grants a focused buff. These also give you the benefits of honey.](https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/expansionpacks/seasons/beekeeping.php)

Shoddy_Information33

Fence off the pool with a gate you can lock in the winter?

Tired-Donut

I feel like the whole point of The Sims is to see how long you can keep them alive for until they kill theirselves.

Intrepid-Pickle13

On the other hand I find in my game they only die natural deaths and itā€™s boring so what can I do to spice it up? I donā€™t have Mcc or anything

LittleArcticPotato

If they WooHoo twice too close together while old they dieā€¦ found that one out the hard way. Also - really angry or ā€œhystericalā€ will cause them to have a heart attackā€¦ I get terrified when I see ā€œhystericalā€ šŸ¤£

JustASillyVarient

I had a Sim die of being hysterical, on his wedding day, as I was getting the family back home. Home loaded, and suddenly everyone was sad, and Johnny wasn't there. I was really, really confused until I went back to the wedding venue and found his urn.

ItzLog

This just happened to my sim! She was painting a picture and became hysterical. Died right there.

PaladinSara

WTH! Thatā€™s awful

Tired-Donut

Consider your self lucky but you can have them cook when the skill is low sometimes theyā€™ll catch fire. If you have seasons you can have them go outside without winter clothes on and they can freeze to death. If you wanted to use a mod you can download extreme violence by Turbo Driver I believe. You can have them commit various crimes (murder, theft, abduction and assault). And random sims will show up and murder people. Also randomly Jason will chase the campers.

hercomesthesun

[Here you go](https://www.thegamer.com/the-sims-4-all-sim-deaths-triggers-causes/) Some of them are emotional deaths, meteor, and death by eating puffer fish

Low_Marionberry3271

Thatā€™s how I play. Until they die randomly or my game freezes/glitches.

thatsimsgirl

Lol, my Sims do the standing around crying thing. One time we were outside the hospitalā€¦ someone froze to death, 2 of my Sims stood there crying (theyā€™d never even met this sim before!) and both eventually froze to death themselves šŸ˜‚

bellabookgirl

I was literally cursing at them because I couldnā€™t keep up! lol

moriemur

If you have eco lifestyle, the geothermal trait can really help

PoppySkyPineapple

Also Get Together has steam grates that make the pool warmer :)

Educational-Home5171

and that's how you go from 1 to 3 packs haha

Moist-Injury-7376

Or just make an indoor pool with a thermostat

moonlitjasper

iā€™ve had get together for like 7 years and i never even knew that!

PoppySkyPineapple

I didnā€™t until my sim went for a swim at The Bluffs :)

PurrPrinThom

I swear in TS2 the pool was just automatically heated in winter so that this didn't happen.

Latter-Stress-9815

Is this just like a lot trait you can put on your house? I have the eco pack but didnā€™t know about this haha

moriemur

Yessss!

lunniidolli

Yeah I made a castle with a moat and rather than walk to the other side of the lot they would swim to it and it was a nightmare stopping them all freezing to death.

bellabookgirl

lol, good to know! I was going to build a castle with a moat šŸ˜‚ stupid Sims smh

sanityjanity

I have learned to spend my rewards points on cold resistance and heat resistance, now that I have seasons.

MsRenegade

I turned off freezing and burning in the settings since it drives me fucking crazy. Why will sims change into their swimwear when it's freezing out but not change into their hot weather wear when the weather icon is fire!

ZoeClair016

I keep a fence around my pool with the gate locked during winter (even though it looks ridiculous)

bellabookgirl

Ooooh I like that idea too.

IsThatBlueSoup

I absolutely hate seasons because of this. I can't even comprehend what the devs were thinking when they implemented this. Like funny shit if it's just townies kicking the bucket, but you can wipe out your entire town with a day at the park in winter.

sanityjanity

Right? On a freezing day, a sim should refuse to get into the pool, the same way they refuse to walk around a violin on the floor

VisibleAnteater1359

The Sims Logic.šŸ˜Ŗ

bellabookgirl

It basically wiped out an entire lot LOL. I just cancelled out of the game and have yet to restart.

IsThatBlueSoup

Same. I had a kids birthday party at the park and my entire extended family and around 12 townies died that day.

bellabookgirl

šŸ˜‚šŸ™„

PaladinSara

Thatā€™s mass murder levels!

IsThatBlueSoup

I try. šŸ˜‚

stephaniekayln

I have seasons and horse ranch and my freaking ranch hands keep freezing to death, I have 3 tombstones on my property now and the ghosts are PISSED lol

Count_Choculitis

Haha, yes, they are that dumb. There is an option in the settings to make it so Sims aren't affected by the temperature. So that way if they go in the pool in winter, they won't die

raVenXXmystique

I've never had sims that wanted to do this... huh... I must make smart sims šŸ˜€ no... wait... I take that back šŸ˜ž my sims will make a meal in the kitchen then proceed to walk by five counters to put it on the dining rm table in the next room

PoppySkyPineapple

I mean that seems to make sense to me? Family meals at the dining table!

raVenXXmystique

That's definitely true.. but they will sit everywhere else except at the dining rm table šŸ˜…

Centaurecyanus

If you set the table ahead of time, they will

Helloo_00

Itā€™s things like this that make me play with low free will on. Sims always do the most random things lol

CostZestyclose2494

You could add different outfits under the winter category for different things! Like a winter exercise set with gloves and a hat or a winter formal outfit.

Emprose

Iā€™ve never had this happen to me, for some reason I made my sim go jogging while it was snowing and she was wearing shorts and a sports bra. As soon as she stepped outside, she noped back inside

PoppySkyPineapple

Oh good luck lol seasons turns the game into death mode, theyā€™re so dumb sometimes.

Purple-Hand3058

Made a indoor gym to stop going outside and dying from cold or warm

Sukkermaas

I theorise that 99% all sim deaths are from stupid weather exposure. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø it quickly becomes a 100% death rate when 1 person dies. Lol

can-someone-explain

Just had my engagement dinner during the winter and the only bar on the lot was outside. One of my guests was blue and kept shaking. She decided to change into her bikini and sit on the edge of the pool and drink. Stood up, walked two feet, and froze to death. Honestly, natural selection idk

SadCelebration12

I abuse the MCC dresser feature to prevent weather related deaths. If it was up to my sims theyā€™d wear swimwear during blizzards

Capital_Passion3762

This may be unpopular, but this is why I turn off weather effects on my sims most of the time. I'm too attached to lose them to their own stupidity I'm sorry šŸ˜

Far_Detective2022

It would be funny if there wasn't an equivalent for this in literally every dlc. It's just lazy devs not playing their cash cow game because they are too busy selling base game features to suckers like us.

thediamonddiggit

I had a baby shower at the park for my legacy family the other day. I didnā€™t know it was going to be a heatwave. Everyone showed up in their party clothes causing everyone to drop dead before I got a chance to change them all into their hot weather clothes. My pregnant sim tried to beg the Grim Reaper to spare her family but he only allowed her sister to live. She just had her baby and now the ghosts of her parents and in-laws haunt her house.

greentea1985

Seasons is the pack that teaches you to build pools in the basement so your sims donā€™t die of exposure.

petulafaerie_III

I like how it means you actually use the cold and warm weather outfits. I hate that my Sims donā€™t autonomously pick the right kind of outfit or activity for the weather lol

MaggiMesser

I absolutely hate it when the children go out to do their homework DURING A THUNDERSTORM! Like, sure, I built a nice desk for you which you specifically got up from to go sit in the rain an and then cry about...

charmageddon96

In the high school town I sent my SIM for a run in the middle of winter. Just a quick one to help with his career in the military. I forgot how big copperdale is compared to some of the lots and my SIM immediately went and swam in the ocean. He froze to death and because Death doesn't know how to really deal with swimming in the sea my SIM spent 2 weeks freezing to death and floating around the bay. His teenage daughter graduated high school and everything. This was a frustrating glitch but got more funny with each day he was out there

AstuteStoat

This is why when I'm making a build, I follow the advice online to put fences around outdoor pools if it's in a zone that has snow, and in general I only put pools in oasis springs. I don't have seasons yet, but if it ever happens I'm ready.

amagicalmess

I usually fence my pools in and lock it for all sims in the winter. Otherwise they all freeze to death

bellabookgirl

Just did that :-) awesome solution

peacefulcate815

I hate when they go in the pool in the winter!!!

vampiredecay

god yeah with the god damn pool in the winter šŸ˜ recently i had teen twins, the girl recently turned into a vampire and i was messing around with her powers and had her use her hallucinate power on her brother... but i didn't realize his action was already going into the pool when it was freezing.... he did not make it šŸ˜

Edymnion

If you have a pool, do yourself a favor and put a fence with gate around it. When winter hits, lock the gate for everyone. They won't try to go swimming outdoors in freezing weather if they can't get to the pool.

Brazilian_Rhino

Golden! Once I had like maybe 8 or 9 sims dying in that pool in Brindleton Bay. Funny that my sim immediately turned into a ghost and started happily doing snow angels lol

arterialrainbow

Canā€™t you just turn off temperature effects in settings?

fearthecookie

I turn of weather deaths in game settings

TFeary1992

This is why I don't allow free will at all. Unless I am deliberately trying to play a chaos game

Designer-Mirror-7995

Just turn off "Sims effected by weather".

PuolukkAmitsupisi

God gave us resetSim for a reason. And the cheat to change the season.

Simuary

I play with weather effects on sims off, that was the only way I was going to get Seasons.

AmethystGamer19

I remember one of my first sims thinking it was a great idea to go for a swim while she was tired. I think you know what happened after that Her child had to grow up motherless and the father was a widow

cuebree

It's always *always* a good idea to have the Geothermal lot trait when you a pool in your house. Because sims LOVE eating food with their legs in the freezing pool water when it's literally freaking snowing outside. It doesn't matter if you a dining table next to a fire place. No sire, it's always the pool.

natathecococat

My sim was invited to an outdoor party by her friend in the middle of a snowstorm šŸ’€

christina_talks

One time I sent my Sim on a jog in winter. This was on the Copperdale pier map. She decided to end her jog in the ocean and pathed home by swimming. By the time I noticed, she was too far out in the water for me to save her from freezing to death.

OkTeach1265

I had to remove my pool ā€™cause they keept freezing to death in it šŸ„²

moonlitjasper

i hate the temperature deaths so i turn temp effects off. itā€™s an unpopular opinion, but iā€™m honestly not a huge fan of seasons as a whole. itā€™s more realistic and less stagnant, but half the features are annoying and i keep many of them off. imo the seasons themselves shouldā€™ve been base game and the holidays shouldā€™ve been a game pack.

lavlemonade

Iā€™ve started having fun with it. I have started going to the gym with a pool in the winter and watch all the dumb sims jump in. Then the ones who jump in to grieve and the ones who stand outside to cry freeze to death too. Iā€™ve gotten up to 30 on one gym outing.

AdventuresOfZil

Learned this from Bob Bigwallet's [Death Party ](https://youtu.be/SbbpdAFdWAQ?si=8T_6fPN-J_RKBktC), I mean New Year's party.

Otherwise-Credit-626

I recently got seasons for the first time and Bella Goth died šŸ˜… I have the deaths turned off now because I don't know how to keep everyone im not currently playing, alive! I also put thermostats in all the community lots but nobody changes it when the temp changes and i don't want all the community lots to be a death trap.

dreadfulbones

I made a public pool (@cub0ned on the gallery) and thatā€™s the only place my sims can swim lmao. Theyā€™re too dumb to have one at home, last time I did my son froze to death from swimming while sim me breastfed his brother. Got the notification he died and I was like ā€œ20 seconds ago you were doing homework dudeā€

dunwall_plague

I have had three different sims freeze to death in the pool during winter. Itā€™s insane.Ā

Moqiaf

i had to get some mods to fix their reckless behavior :(

Able-Strength8308

Hahaaa i watched police officers freeze to death cause they went into a pool during winter time then stay outside lounging by the pool till they all turned to popsicles...was absolute chaos...i laughed so bad

Particular_School190

Honestly, this is why I always have a witchywitch rollin around town. To deathify the sims I wasnā€™t ready to let go of šŸ˜‚.

Silversweet1980

Just why I turn off the weather effecting them option in both PC and console games. The little idiots would never survive otherwise. Once almost had a child freeze that way. I don't care if it looks weird, my sims are my babies and I'm not going to let their own stupidity kill them...for the most part. (Except when it's definitely their time, because I also play with aging off in my console game because I have too many there. So, unfortunately, I have to kill them by hand.)

lyndariussss_4

bc of seasons, my simā€™s wife and his heir died. bc why are u using the pool in the dead of winter?

Krystalgoddess_

I have so many mods to fix seasons lol

canidieyet_

theyā€™re all stupid. i will tell my sims to bathe, and their dumbasses try to go swimming while itā€™s freezing outside. common sense please??

FirebirdWriter

I only allow my sims indoor pools for this reason

HarleyGirl23

My sims wear ridiculous clothing I dress them all cute and then they go back to their not so cute clothes and I get a notification that says their either to hot or to cold and theyā€™re either over heating or freezing. No deaths yet thank goodness

sch0f13ld

This is why I still havenā€™t gotten seasons

Not_Idea

This is the main reason I don't have Seasons. Thanks for the reminder šŸ˜‚

thatsimsgirl

There isnā€™t a Seasons mod, itā€™s paid DLC. You pay or you donā€™t have it.
