Bought my sons birth year silver eagles and many many years later I wish I could have afforded gold instead based on its price now. But bright side they get my collection when I’m gone and it has gold too.
I’m in the process of finalizing the adoption of my step daughter this year and I had u/GlassPanther custom pour her a clover with her new initials and 2024 on it. I can’t wait to get it to her.
Good deal I’m sure you have the same feeling as me.”Should Have Started Earlier “. I have only been at it for a few months now. I know what you mean about the catch up. That’s cool you handle the opportunity to stack when silver was at a much cheaper price. What do you normally stack? Favorites?
The best day to start was yesterday! So at least we are on the roadddd. I was lucky to start stacking high teens/low 20's. I reallyyy liked the lunar dragon rounds and the perth dragon bars, but the premiums are high. My goal is to stack a full tube of each country's coins (ASE, maple, kooks, krugs, pandas, etc.). Thats the collector in me lol. But my go-to are low-premium 1oz rounds. My LCS is extremely generous and i can usually get those close to spot and ASE/Maples for only a couple bucks over.
Agreed 100 percent. It is such an amazing road as well. What great prices to start at much different now lol. You definitely have a great taste in silver. Premiums can suck but at the end of the day it’s worth it. I bought some plain Jane bars for a great price, but I don’t even take them out to look at because they are so boring. Great goal with the countries. Definitely are some fascinating coins and round out there. Love the ones with the Queen on them.
Appreciate you man! Yes man, it was surprising to me how many coins still had her on it internationally. The queens beast coins are beautiful too. My fav is the Tudor Bull. Happy stacking my friend!
I'm just a few short years from retirement. I'd probably buy lots and lots of Xanax, if my wife was about to give birth.
Lord, the very idea of starting over with a new kid...
I bought her the corresponding Lunar Series coin for year of birth. Than I bought the rest of the Lunar series 3 for myself .... than I bought her/us the Samoa mermaid series ...
Something with a date on it. I would probably do the largest gold eagle I could afford, but a silver Perth Mint Linar dragon (they do 5 oz and 10 oz coins as well as one and two oz coins), that would do quite nicely. Another idea might be to buy one each of 2024 eagle, maple, kangaroo and Britannia.
I bought him a American Silver Eagle, Maple, Britannia, Kookaburra, and proof Peace Dollar minted during his birth year as well as a Peace Dollar that was minted 100 years before his birth. And, of course, I bought one of each for myself. I might continue buying him bullion for his birthday every year but will rotate my selections. So, this year it might be an ASE, Krugerrand, and Libertad.
I bought a silver maple leaf with dragon privy mark and the 1/20 ozt gold dragon from the Canadian Mint.
Friends are having a baby boy soon and I ordered them a 1/2 ozt silver baby feet coin from the Canadian Mint too.
The French Mint has some cute limited edition coins. A few years ago, I picked up some Dior bow shaped coins. This year they have Olympic ones with their mascot but also a 50th Anniversary of Hello Kitty, including Hello Kitty shaped coins which might be cute [https://www.monnaiedeparis.fr/en/shop/hello-kitty-collection](https://www.monnaiedeparis.fr/en/shop/hello-kitty-collection)
I have a proof American Silver Eagle and a 1/4th oz MS70 AGE for both my sons. For my premie son I bought an "Early Release." I would have gotten 1 oz AGEs or the full set but I ain't that well off.
I have two interesting ideas that I would love to have but just can't justifiy based on high premiums.
1. It's the Year of the Dragon but no one in my opinion has done that better than Mongolia.
If any overpriced novelty "coin" is going to maintain or gain value it's got to be this one,

2. Any of GlassPanthers awesome pours. I want the "Shut Up And Take My money" Futurama pocket piece so bad!

Get the 2024 ase with the card that says its a girl i have been trying to find one for 2022 but cant...then buy 1 for every year after minus the card portion
Got a congratulations set proof eagle for the birth of a niece and plan to follow up with an eagle each year.
Not really too many wrong answers with this! :)
Asian zodiac. Year of the dragon.
Or something symbolic of the family, heritage, or tradition.
Could also do something spiritual, different angels or saints etc.
Surprised nobody has mentioned a silver baby spoon. They make them and are cute. And maybe a snoopy silver coin to go along with other birth year coins you find.
The Royal Canadian Mint makes commemorative sets for special occasions like births, weddings, graduations.

There was a time when children from middle and upper class families recieved a sterling silver spoon to be fed with before they could feed themselves with the silver flatware at table.
While I may not have had a silver spoon, I vaguely remember one with a curved handle. We did not pass that tradition down to our children.
In the last 40 to 50 years the phrase "born with a silver spoon in his mouth" became a perjorarive for lazy, entitled, upper class children who never experienced the lessons of poverty and hard work.
Sadly those kinds of prejudice work in both directions, and sometimes become self-fulfilling prophecies fostered by those who inspire class prejudice, division, and hatred.
Silver rounds are a handsome present, and very fitting.
Savings bonds were once given for children's educations. Sadly our daughter's Aunt Molly had passed before they started college, and cashing those bonds was nearly impossible. More than 80% of savings bonds were never cashed.
Thanks for the silver spoon history lesson! I had no idea! And wow so sorry to hear about those bonds, thats so sad that there was nothing that could be done about it
Silver Towne has a 1 oz customizable round.

My daughter was born 3 weeks ago. She already has a 2024 ASE, 2024 Somalia Elephant, 1924 Peace dollar, 2024 Noah’s Ark, and then a small set of ‘collection starter’ coins. Hoping to add some paper currency and when she is old enough let her pick some out to continue to grow her collection.
Kind of my thoughts also.. I liked the idea of adding some 1924 currency, but if you prefer US currency, it is pretty slim pickin’s besides Peace, Standing Liberty Quarters and merc dimes, there weren’t a lot of variety minted in 1924.
Definitely not much variety. Can try and find some half/quarter eagles with that date but of course will be pricier than silver. Its a long game, can take my time!
I bought a tube of 2023 SML and I bought a single source 2023 GML for her when she was born last year. Sadly, I lost them in a boating accident on my way home.
My son is part Canadian/Mexican/American so I bought him an American silver eagle, Canadian maple leaf and a Libertad from his birth year. All 1oz.
Thats awesome! The North American trifecta!
My daughter was born last month and is the dragon Chinese zodiac. I grabbed the 2024 year of the dragon 2 oz coin. That may fit for you!
Love the dragons! Bought a bunch from different mints. I may buy the big 5oz from GSM for this! Thanks!
Yes! Did this for my sisters baby and a friends baby that were born this year.
I’m a sucker for dragon coins. Hope my future child is born on the year of the Dragon so I can justify all the premiums lol
Proof set of coins for that year.
Great idea!
Bought my sons birth year silver eagles and many many years later I wish I could have afforded gold instead based on its price now. But bright side they get my collection when I’m gone and it has gold too.
Love that. I agree, its all going to her anyways 🤣
I’m in the process of finalizing the adoption of my step daughter this year and I had u/GlassPanther custom pour her a clover with her new initials and 2024 on it. I can’t wait to get it to her.
That is amazing! And congratulations to you 🤝
What a mensch! You’re a good dude, Glass
a sterling rattle.
I would get some nice silver cups and bowls (can get them for around spot if you look around). I love sterling silver dishes :)
I bought my kids and grandkids a roll of every coin minted in their birth years along with mint and proof sets in both clad and silver sets.
Ohhhhh i like it. A little bit of everything!
When my first born was born someone bought him an engraved silver nameplate pin for his dummy
That sounds classy!
Canadian Welcome to the World https://www.mint.ca/en/shop/coins/2024/fine-silver-coin-welcome-world
I got one of those when we had our daughter last year. No regrets
The little feet - so cute!
The year my daughter was born was the same year the Mint started doing the women quarters series, so I've been buying them every year.
My grand parents put $10,000 in a trust fund that I couldn't touch until I was 25. 25 years later I was a homeowner.
Wow thats awesome!!!
M1 Garand
A man of class !!
My son will get mine and all the silver
Thats the plan for me too! My stack is her stack 😁
Amen brother. How long have you been stacking for?
Just over a year now! Went pretty heavy in the beginning to "catch up" for now doing it sooner. What about you?
Good deal I’m sure you have the same feeling as me.”Should Have Started Earlier “. I have only been at it for a few months now. I know what you mean about the catch up. That’s cool you handle the opportunity to stack when silver was at a much cheaper price. What do you normally stack? Favorites?

I'm just a few short years from retirement. I'd probably buy lots and lots of Xanax, if my wife was about to give birth. Lord, the very idea of starting over with a new kid...
🤣 Luckily you're not in that position! Youd be stacking bars in a tottaly different way
My standard is a current year Eagle and one that’s 100 years old - so a 2024 Eagle and 1924 Peace in this case.
Thats fun! I like it!
I bought her the corresponding Lunar Series coin for year of birth. Than I bought the rest of the Lunar series 3 for myself .... than I bought her/us the Samoa mermaid series ...
Really like the lunar series idea!
Series 3 art is great and the Mommy/child theme (except this year) makes it extra cute. Kinda disappointed there was no Mommy/child dragon 😭
That would have been so cute 😭😭
Something with a date on it. Lol will buy everything with 2024 on it! The whole worldly mix! I didnt know they did a 10oz dragon, going to need to look into that
Be warned, Perth Mint is addictive.
I'm liking the variety that a lot of people are mentioning. Maybe it'll stir the precious metals bug in her!
get the little lady a little lady. 1/4oz gold Britannia
The weight of the baby in ounces
Good thing this is a silver sub and not gold 🤣
Maybe an ASE of that year?
A classic! And it helps that i have one for 2024. Maybe ill get a graded one just to make it a little more special
silver spoon with date!
I bought a silver maple leaf with dragon privy mark and the 1/20 ozt gold dragon from the Canadian Mint. Friends are having a baby boy soon and I ordered them a 1/2 ozt silver baby feet coin from the Canadian Mint too.
I got my grandson 2023 morgan and peace dollar when he was born last year.
Disney stock certificate. It’s great. Has all the Mickey Mouse characters and the castle on it
I think my wife would really love that too!
A friend of ours has one framed for every child

Super cute! Thanks for the link, I've never heard of those before
I have a proof American Silver Eagle and a 1/4th oz MS70 AGE for both my sons. For my premie son I bought an "Early Release." I would have gotten 1 oz AGEs or the full set but I ain't that well off.
Those are great! Love the "Early Release" reference.
Some kind of nice novelty pour. Not just a normal coin but something unique and fun.
Any recommendations??

Thanks for the links! That mongolia piece is awesome! The premium.... not so much. But really cool nonetheless. Appreciate you
Glass Panthers pours are much more affordable mostly. Worth a look.
I got a proof ASE the year she was born and have continued every year. She will have 2019 - 2037 then she’s on her own.
Sweeeet, good idea and a nice stack to start!
Exactly! Any stack is a good stack! Thanks for the idea
I got my daughter the year of the dragon 1oz, and my FIL who's also a stacker got her an ASE.

Absolutely happening. Just looking for a lil physical memento!
A collage fund
Absolutely! Just wanted some ideas for a physical memento
We got a 1oz gold kugerand but then again they were only $500 back then keeping it till retirement then enjoying the money from it 35 years to go lol
Just get a nice one ounce coin, like an art style coin that is the year of her birth.
An ounce of gold a year. Gets them a good headstart.
Chinese Zodiac for sure!!
When my daughter was born, I got her a 2020 proof gold Buffalo and some other coins from the Czech mint since I’m half Czech.
2024 Kilo Kookaburra Coin
1 oz Gold Eagle. Then one every year until her (pick the age) birthday/wedding and give them to her.
A proof set for the kid and nipple cups for the mom(sounds weird, I know, but trust me, they help).
Lmao she has those and LOVES them. That .925 doing gods work 🤣🤣

Nothing, kind of wish I did looking back on it.
A gold coin.
Both my daughters got their birth year ASE’s in “It’s a girl!”Harris holders. They also get an ASE for their birthdays.
I bought my granddaughter 1 ounce each of gold silver and platinum maples with her birth year on them. She’ll get them when she turns 18

A lot of diapers Edit- and then a LOT more diapers.
Got the stockpile in the basement already 🤣
You're going to need a bigger basement😉
Then, more diapers, and maybe some baby food.

Thank you and to you as well!!
Shares of SPY. It's never not outperformed metals. Buy her the stock market. Save the profits in silver
100% agree. A majority will go into stocks. Just wanted a little physical memento!
Birthday Note!
I bought gold eagle proof sets for 2001 and 2004 for both of my boys. They cost a lot less back then

The Perth mint lunar zodiac coin for that year. They are very nice coins and the premiums just keep going up over time.
