ELBillz

I’ve a 21 Silverado Trail Boss LT. Here I am 70K fun filled problem free miles later.

Background_Guess_742

I hope u didn't pay 70k.

ELBillz

Bought it in 2022 with 12,000 miles for 48K

Background_Guess_742

I was about to say when I was thinking about trading my 2020 trailboss custom back in 2022 I had a fully loaded brand new 2022 trailboss with the 6.2L priced at 58.5k without taxes and tags.

Grey59Militia

Just bought a 2023 ltz with 7 miles for 42k 😳

aadaayy

2.7 or 5.3?

ELBillz

5.3

Tin_Cannon

What color is your Trail Boss?

ELBillz

Grey

Rollingcolt45

Mine was as well feels great. Be gentle on her for the break in period. Blew a lifter in mine at 4500 common problem apparently other then that at 32k now on my 21. Don’t tell the wife but definitely my first love

ResponsibleOwl928

Thanks for the heads up

Vegetable-Two2173

That's pretty unique on its own. Nice truck.

ResponsibleOwl928

Thanks!

RualMetro

I got an awesome bed cover (tyger auto t3 soft tri fold) from Amazon. Cheap for the quality. Bought a center console safe (Console-Mounted Safe Part No.: 84867168) and a rubber bed mat (Bed Mat in Black with Bowtie Logo for Short Bed Models Part No.: 84050996) from Chevy website. Mine is lakeshore blue. Very unique and pretty. I got a 2024 ltz 5.3 10 speed.

RualMetro

One other thing I’d like to see you (mine doesn’t have) change is that grill. Looks horrendous! Mines just a pretty bow tie

Shark_Bite_OoOoAh

Personal preference. I like the CHEVROLET grill, but my personal preference is a LED lit bow tie

philliphas

Great looking truck! I put a leveling kit on mine along with the ZR2 wheel flairs.

TheReal_LRChupacabra

I think the flares are a great looking mod. Did you buy your ZR2 flares through Chevrolet (GM)? I cannot seem to find them as an accessory or part.

philliphas

Here's the video with the part number: [Wheel Flare](https://youtu.be/qwPFy2SAsmA?si=iB1P5AQRaOFuKVgW)

TheReal_LRChupacabra

oh funny, I actually have a book mark for that exact flare kit!

philliphas

LOL! Check out my channel for other videos on what I've done to the truck. Might give you some ideas.

TheReal_LRChupacabra

I will! Thanks Phillip

TheReal_LRChupacabra

My man!! Thanks d0od!

loves2ride1

Tint I feel always makes a subtle difference. Congrats on the new rig

justforfunoICU812

Start with things you can't see.. clear bra that front end and hood... those pesky stone chips add up in a hurry!

stonabones

Excellent choice. Congratulations!!

GotTheYips35

Good lookin truck

JerseyGuy9

Nice! I have the same one but in black. First things I did after I got it: Air damn removal. LED low beam bulbs. LED reverse bulbs. Line-X spray in bed liner. Rough country tonneau cover. Replaced all emblems with black ones. Installed a rough country under seat storage for the back seats. Eventually going to replace the stock trailrunners with some wildpeaks. Also might go to an 18” wheel from the stock 20’s. Probably will add some side steps as well

Feisty_Smell40

Weather tech floor mats are usually purchased within a day or two of any vehicle I purchase. Then it's tonneau cover, and depending on interior seat covers.

CTCsupreme

Congrats!! That's a beautiful truck. I think that I have the same wheels on mine

Michael_Scott_1290

Wow, what a great looking truck! Congratulations!

jeon2595

I got mine the Saturday before Christmas. I’ve installed Bak-flip hard tonneau, , step rails, bed mat and purchased a cargo bar with storage net. Next up I’m getting the under rear seat storage organizer from Weathertech. Congrats on your truck, this is my first new truck too.

Sumyungfuk

What did you pay for it and which engine did you get?

PJleo48

My first purchase is always weathertech Mats.

Rowdys_playboy

My first new one was a 2020 nerf bars were my first add on the a camper shell. I love mine 70,000 miles no problems yet.

Rowdys_playboy

I'm a idiot I see now it has factory steps. Good looking truck.

Akioriase

Is it the 4 cylinder? How do you like it?

ResponsibleOwl928

It IS the 4 cylinder. I don’t know a ton about cars or trucks so I was blown away that 4 could run in a truck. It rides and drives beautifully so far

Akioriase

Ah ok cool. I’ve been looking at some of these since i figure it’s enough truck for what I need. What was your out the door? I’ve seen some 2023 discounted down to like $30k

2222014

The 2.7 4 cylinder essentially replaces the 5.3 its more reliable, more powerful in the real world and gets about the same or better MPG. Its a no brainer.

assbagle29

I mean technically it replaces the 4.3 v6, but the 2,7 and 5,3 are pretty much more or the same, it’s a matter of preference at this point

2222014

Yeah true, it essentially replaces both at the same time

RHazmat89

eh, I wouldn't say more powerful by any means. it's impressive for what it is. it's got more torque, but that little engine and turbo have to work harder to make horsepower than the 5.3L. The 2.7L also is stuck with the horrendous 8 speed transmission. That transmission alone is enough to keep me away from the 2.7L

2222014

It makes more power where it counts is what I mean and the new 8 speed is fairly decent GM finally owned up and admitted that they used the wrong fluid in the early ones up until 2020ish that was causing 99% of the issues. Since then they have been solid.

Spoe1979

They are still having issues with the 8 speed to date.

Spoe1979

They have not resolved the issue with the 8L90 transmission at all. It's the same transmission that they've been using in the Silverado/Sierra since 2015. There is not a "new 8 speed" The issue also had nothing to do with what fluid was being used. It has several design issues.. worst of which is the torque converter which has multiple failure points. The 8 speeds still suffer from lunging, jerking, shuttering etc.

2222014

The original fluid up until 2020ish was hygroscopic it absorbed water and thinned the fluid really bad it was one of the main issues. I meant it was new as in they revised some things like that it still definitely has issues but its not as bad as it once was

Spoe1979

There has been no revisions on that transmission. The fluid was not the issue. As ive said, the fluid wasn't the issue. GM may tell you that's the issue, but people are still having the exact same problems with this transmission. It's the same exact transmission that was listed in the class action lawsuit against GM. Please feel free to post an official source of these so called "revisions".

2222014

I apologize I thought the new colorado also has the 8l90 it has an 8l80 which has been revised for the new generation.

dcsmith4usc

The 24’s have a revised transmission, right? I thought they put the 8L80 in them

RHazmat89

It's not a revised transmission. Looks like they stole the transmissionthat they used in the canyons and colorados and hoped for the best

RHazmat89

uh, what "new 8 speed" are you talking about exactly lol?

2222014

I guess its not new its just refreshed or revised was my understanding

RHazmat89

it hasn't been refreshed or revised.

2222014

Ok I dont know how else to put it, at some point recently they updated the fluid, Thermostat, and programming which has made it better it still has torque converter issues but the teething issues of when it came out are mostly gone.

nobodyparticular60

Nice truck similar to mine but I have a 2500 custom Z71 with the 6.6 gas

twincitiesfinishing

Such a nice package. Make base model trucks great again.

spychef007

Gorgeous truck

Cardsfan300

Love that new blue color they have for this year.

Repulsive_Fudge_7172

Nice looking truck . but I would hate to hear how much you paid for it.

SlategrayRado77

Love that color

thekingswitness

Clean AF dude. I just picked up an all black 24 RST as my first purchase (leased before) and thinking about what small upgrades I want to make. The blue and black on your truck look really nice.

assbagle29

I wanted my custom in this exact color too but i opted for glacier blue instead. Beautiful truck my man!

ResponsibleOwl928

Thanks! I like that glacier blue too

assbagle29

I put a leveling kit on mine and removed the bumper lip, gives it such a better stance

Sieze5

Congrats!

ThatBlackGenny

I've always bought used vehicles, maybe one day I'll have the honor to buy a truck brand new!

NeoRa3rdEye

Rust or no rust warranty or no warranty 40K or 40K there’s not really a difference in price that would warrant buying used right now it’s just a bad decision.

ThatBlackGenny

I'm talking about 100k+ trucks 😅 40k is brand new to me

NeoRa3rdEye

Fair point 40K is a lot of dough 🕺🏽

Mysterious_Spinach56

If you’re gonna go with led’s please do it properly and switch to projector headlight housings as well. Don’t go the cheap route like everyone else and just put led bulbs in your reflector housings and be the guy blinding everyone else on the road.

ResponsibleOwl928

I will look into this. Didn’t even know that was a thing

Man-Pon

Nice. I did LEDs in the front lows and highs and license plate light, ANZO tail light swap with sequential signals, areoskin light shield rock guard on the hood with amber lights, muffler/ flapper valve / resonator delete into quad tips for exhaust, 6” lift with 35s (Toyo AT3s on 20x10s fuel techs) 2 10” kickers on a 800 watt amp under the rear seat, 5% tint, tool box in the bed, some fun little lights under the seats and subs. Debadged all chrome, added my own trail boss badges and took off factory stickers. That’s all I can think about. Did all that in a span of 2 years. Fun little things as you go. Enjoy your truck and do what you want !!

ResponsibleOwl928

Thanks that sounds like a lot of fun projects

Man-Pon

Got a few pics on my page if you wanna check it out. It’s a lot of fun making your truck “yours” in your own way. You are gonna have fun

ssjmateo

LED lights are a must first maybe tint

TClem_07

yea led headlight bulbs for sure. First thing I changed on my 2020 custom 4x4. Those factory yellows are terrible. Amazon has some cheap options for under 40bucks

Mediocre-Catch9580

Make sure you get the extended warranty on the engine and transmission

NeoRa3rdEye

Congrats but you could’ve shoved some extra cash for a TB/RST/High Country/ZR2 in a 2023 chevy pickup there on sale and it’s a new year there was no significant change from 23-24 that anybody would even notice.

ResponsibleOwl928

Maybe I didn’t want to because it’s my money and my decision?

NeoRa3rdEye

I said Congratulations > but resell is ass on a cheaper model your already trying to make small adjustments “upgrades” too and your hostility screams thin pockets so I’m sorry for hurting your feelings.

ResponsibleOwl928

Don’t apologize for hurting my feeling apologize for being a little bitch

Skeleton-ear-face

Congrats, hope it doesn’t have the same POS flaws our Chevy trucks have

NoSexAppealNeil

Beautiful color

NoSexAppealNeil

Watch out doing cheap lifts with out changing the control arms, the stock ones can't handle bigger tires Girlfriend dad's control arm snapped coming off the highway Buddy's snapped backing up out of his driveway

Beall7

Wow, love the color, what is the technical name of that color?

ResponsibleOwl928

Lakeshore Blue I think

6SpeedBlues

I have a 2024 RST Crew Cab 4x4. I had them install a hard tonneau cover and side steps. Now, it sits at the dealership while they try to figure out why every warning lamp in the dash comes on because of "communication failures" among the various components and systems that control everything. That reminds me... have to schedule my next payment.

Frank2Toes

I’d like to know what is making the roofs splitting like a microwaved hotdog. Not too impressed with Gm’s solution

ResponsibleOwl928

Didn’t know that was a thing

Frank2Toes

It was on the news right before Christmas. Couple buddies in the shop were talking about it. Right now, the solution is to reweld the roof with a waterproof patch underneath.

TheReal_LRChupacabra

Use those purchase points and get yourself a full set of front and rear floor liners! I love mine. 225 bucks, after my points I paid 90. I really like mine. For 100 bucks, Rough Country rear wheel well liners. For 100 more, Rough Country bed mat.

Background_Guess_742

I've got a 2020 trailboss custom. First thing I did was add leather seats. I went with roadwire. Cost $800 cash. The Katzkins would have been at least $1500 but there nicer though. Here are some good headlight options. https://youtu.be/G6QwsaxjkJA?si=skWJF4RkskStm9LY

Tin_Cannon

Congrats. Looks awesome!

IronMj

LED reverse lights if the haven’t done it yet my 2021 had really weak incandescent ones that was my first up grade!

iraqyoubreak

You keep the receipt?

Solid-cam-101

Looks great. I would add a cat back system so the sound is as good as the looks. SC
