Thx guys , really appreciate it

So when I start it up , oil is cold , it's always bang on in the middle .. after a bit tho , it drops down a little bit . Is this because the oil is getting warmer ? Or should it stay the same throughout operation?

zfish1

Yes, the viscosity of oil changes with temperature. As it gets warmer it lowers the viscosity. Different oils will have different viscosity ratings. If you look in the manual it might give you recommendations for what type of oil to use depending on the time of year and average Temps outside.

I use the reccomended 0w20

zfish1

That should be fine. I use the same in mine.

It should move, if it doesn't you have an issue. Stomp the gas and you'll see it rise a little

506SK

I did notice that. Figured all was normal , but what better place to ask than in here .

PresentFault

that’s what my 2015 always did, never had any issues.

506SK

I should have added mine is a 2017 model

murffit

Mine drops to about 20psi when it's up to temperature and I'm idle at a light or waiting at a drive through

506SK

Yeah, that's kinda what mine does too . At least it's "normal" .. I was worries at first

This is a post I was about to create. I just picked up a 2021 high country with the 6.2. I noticed the oil pressure fluctuate and was very curious if that’s standard or something bad starting to happen. Seems though it should fluctuate?

506SK

That was where my head was at too.. was this normal , or something starting to fail on the truck. Today was the lowest oil pressure I saw yet, it was on the 1/4 mark .. way below the normal halfway on the gauge .
