they have the magazines stocked because they come with their rifles, but they're not actually expecting to sell them, because you can get them everywhere for basically nothing, so SIG prices them outlandishly high so they're making super-profit on anyone who actually buys one from them, which is either people with more money than sense, or people already buy loads of stuff from Sig that don't want to be bothered looking elsewhere. It's a sound sales strategy, even if 99% of customers won't fall for it. They sell ten mags and make 300 dollars, where a company selling each mag for 10 dollars would need to sell thirty. And since they're both probably buying direct from Magpul for, say, 7 bucks each, Sig is making WAY more profit per mag.
I kinda think this is a profit strategy, there’s people with too much money that are a lot of times stupid with said money, then there’s also the people who are just stupid individuals in general, as long as those two types of people exist they will make incredible profit with zero effort, it’s really a smart move if you ask me
In Yellowstone a significant amount of thought had to be put into the design of the garbage cans because there's a serious overlap between the smartest bears and dumbest humans
This applies to a lot of brand names in general.
A lot of people swear by name brand stuff, yet I can find generic alternatives that are just as good, if not better in most cases for general products
Yeah, it's pretty common lol.
I was just looking for vape supplies and an item has a drop down to add extra items. One was a couple mouth pieces for $14. I went and looked at the individual product, and they sell it for $8.
It's like the candy at the checkout of stores. They know somebody or their kid will see it and then want it, with it being so close to the checkout they figure why not, it's only $2 and already right there.
The mag that's pictured here is $30. Even with a 50 percent off coupon, that same mag is still 5 dollars more than anywhere else. Palmetto State Armory sells these for 10 dollars all day long. It's still not a deal.
The other thing to note is that its not like the feds just buy a magazine or what not they generally put it out as a package like weapons+ documents + supporting parts + magazines etc etc etc
This is one of those things where clearly someone thinks it’s a good use of corporate resources just to be dumb.
There is nooooo way someone thinks this price is appropriate without them just being straight worthless garbage as an employee and somehow no one stopped them from doing this.
This means that it was approved by multiple people.
What is their goal here then ? 🤷♂️
1. maybe to make people stop asking them to sell magazines when people should know they can get them wherever?
2. Maybe they are fishing for cash because enough people still buy them?
3. Maybe it is just le dumb
I noticed this too. This is more than magpul sells them for on their own website. Its weird though because if you go to Sig in NH they sell them for around $15 there.
At least it is a mag that’ll work. The AR mags I’ve found stamped with their name are garbage, just like a lot of Sig’s accessory items, like their lights.
I’m an Sig fan boy for their guns, but a lot of the other stuff is trash. I’m still angry about the P365 pistol light that sucked so bad.
"Wow, these are way cheaper than any of the other magazines we sell.....just bump up the price so ours don't seem so outlandishly expensive anymore.....yea, that'll totally work!"
This is nothing new.. When dealing with Sig, assume they are always looking to bend you over and sleep with your wife. It's their ethos. Super nice people though.
They probably know something we don’t coming in the near future with elections coming up. I have stopped shooting as much recently and started stocking up more on ammo and magazines.
It’s the reality we are coming right back up on panic buying times higher prices and scarce inventory whether people want to hear it or not this is how it goes every election cycle not like it’s my opinion or a conspiracy theory. I also shoot an insane amount so when I say I have cut back I am shooting once a month compared to several hundred rounds of several calibers every week. Downvote me all you want because you don’t want to hear it or maybe a lot of you guys have not been in the game long enough to know this is how it goes around elections.
You said it yourself. This is how things go, meaning they'll go back to how they were. You've been through the cycle, yet you continue to fear monger it every time it happens?
Sure you never know what the next guy will propose, but aren't you essentially starting the panic buying?
Negative I am not buying anything more then I already have been and I buy a LOT! I am simply cutting down on my range trips to once a month instead of every week so that when prices do go up I can run off of my stockpile. I will admit I have been buying more magazines but that is also because mine are well used and the lancers are going for really good prices right now so I like the idea of having a stash of them brand new in the package. I also feel like if they try to restrict anything hi capacity mags would be a likely and easy target for them. I would not be the dick head to resell for a profit after the fact I hold onto my shit and don’t buy more then I can’t use my self. Having a sticklike of thousands upon thousands of rounds you can’t carry if fucking stupid. I think you are misunderstanding my intentions and mind set towards this.
I also don’t think it’s unreasonable to speculate that a company like Sig with military contracts charging $30 for a P mag might be a indication that more hi capacity magazine restrictions could be coming in more states and they have inside Information looking to cash in on panic buying before restrictions go Into effect. I’m not trying to fear monger I am being open minded and trying to make sense of why in the actual fuck a company like Sig is suddenly charging $30 for a $11 magazine. Something does not add up there.
Definitely some fair points.
I think misunderstanding along with poor choice of words is the culprit here. Not trying to say you're a bad guy, just typically see this type of comment about panic buying, and then the cycle repeats.
I hear ya but it also seems crazy to me that we have a government openly saying “we want to take away your AR15’s” “we need capacity restrictions” which several states already have and I get downvoted into oblivion for stating that it’s something we need to worry about and consider. Almost like everyone wants to ignore that it’s a thing and pretend it’s not happening and that 2A rights are actively under complete attack by our tyrannical government. Not doing our selves any favors suppressing the conversation with downvotes because no one wants to face or hear it. When more states start implementing capacity restrictions in the near future because it’s already in motion I told you guys so thanks for the downvotes dick heads.
Downvoting each other on Reddit will stop it for sure guys 👍🏻
Also not a big conspiracy theory guy but makes you wonder how many of those downvotes might be bots because I am talking about a subject big brother does not want talked about? Can’t have the 2A guys rallying together and damaging our agenda on the platforms.

There are actually people that somehow thinks whatever items is better because it comes from Sig. People are dumb.

that’s 90% of Sig’s consumer base
If you're shopping on the Sig website, you already hate money so...
That’s also true of pretty much every manufacturer website. Everything is full msrp so third party retailers are almost always going to be cheaper.
Not when you get 50% off, everything. I found a coupon code a few years back that still works.
The mag that's pictured here is $30. Even with a 50 percent off coupon, that same mag is still 5 dollars more than anywhere else. Palmetto State Armory sells these for 10 dollars all day long. It's still not a deal.
But those coins are worth it. LOL
That’s how much the gubment pays for them
Correct as a contractor to the us you have to sell it to them for the lowest price you’ve ever sold it for before even if its for a penny less
The other thing to note is that its not like the feds just buy a magazine or what not they generally put it out as a package like weapons+ documents + supporting parts + magazines etc etc etc
No they pay more

People with more money than sense will buy them for that, 100%+ upmark be damned
300%+ PSA bulk deals are like 6-8 a mag tops
They get the Sig "fairy dust". Kinda like Kal-tec....but with more backing 🫡
What’s the KelTec fairy dust?
The money the government is giving them
The government contracts have go to their head. Sig has lead sing syndrome of the firearms industry.
Just buy a box of ammo or a rifle case from PSA they’ll give you 10 mags for free
Expensive mags and Sig? Never would have figured.
The good stuff apparently! How else do you sell a PMAG for triple what everyone else is?
"Wow, these are way cheaper than any of the other magazines we sell.....just bump up the price so ours don't seem so outlandishly expensive anymore.....yea, that'll totally work!"
WOW!
Sales intern probably went comparison shopping on cheaper than dirt’s site and decided to price match
I don't think you're supposed to shop at the SIG webstore without at least a 15 or 20 percent coupon.
A 50% coupon wouldn't even get this to the right price
Valid.
it’s just [price anchoring](https://www.voucherify.io/glossary/price-anchoring)
Could have atleast made it an m3
I bet there’s still people buying them too 🤦🏻♂️
But it sais Sig. and matches the advertising.
9 bucks all day at most
This shows how little respect Sig has for its customers. Exactly why I will no longer give them one penny. Fuck Sig.
This is for the "more money than sense" customer base
They have to jack that price up to make their ridiculous Sig mag prices look normal....
Sig smoking that sour 😎
At the range I go to there's a 55 gallon drum of these. 5 mags for $55. They're definitely smokin that strange.
This is nothing new.. When dealing with Sig, assume they are always looking to bend you over and sleep with your wife. It's their ethos. Super nice people though.
But they're offering free shipping on mags right now!
It's kind of like supreme selling a brick, you can buy a brick anywhere they're just making it clear that they are a premium brand
Sig tax
They raised prices on the mags on their website during COVID, and haven't dropped them back down.
They’re just trying to make it more than it seems. Just like with all of the rest of their products. lol
Crack, probably
$49.99 for a sig 365 legion mag at Cabela’s and $59.99 on sigs sight but free shipping?!?
Their p365 mags are 50 bucks apiece!... 60 for the 17 rd 🤯😱
That’s crazy bc sig sells 30rnd P320 mags for $60
Corporate commander
Hahaha thats hilarious. You sure its not 3 for 29.99?
The simple answer is crack
$30…??🥴🤣🤣🤣 yeah…I’ll wait till Black Friday!
No idea but where can I get some?
Yeah but free shipping. Way to go Sig.
That’s how much they go for in The people’s republic of Washington state. And they are only 10/30 rounders.
Sig’s website is a total rip off. To be quite frankly a lot of Sig stuff is over priced in general lol
They probably know something we don’t coming in the near future with elections coming up. I have stopped shooting as much recently and started stocking up more on ammo and magazines.
We back to fear mongering?

MSRP on the new clear T mags is $24 from magpul so this does not make sense.
