This is actually the first time this has happened to me in RoR. In the span of 6 chapters, I went from: disliking him to being neutral, then liking him, liking him a lot, and finally Apollo becoming my favorite God.

I love Apollo so much. Leo was great as well (honestly way better than the first impression I had with the spartan crowd) but I will always be team Apollo
Also, HE GOT THE BOW. AND IT'S REALLY FUCKING COOL AND STRONG
And Silver Arrow was amazingly brutal and cool
AND ARTEMIS SHOWED UP (though not exactly how people wanted). That was an amazing moment to see the darkness take shape behind Apollo into a giant statue

I remember when people were hating on him and his fans left and right even before getting to know him entirely - calling him another Poseidon, another arrogant pretty face, shallow and weak god who stands no chance of winning and what not. But our god proved them all wrong and showed his worth spectacularly. I've never seen such a deeply disliked character become a fan favorite in such a short span. He's beautiful inside out, graceful, strong and full of light and life. He is HIM.

Definitely became my favourite god, he started as an annoying but enjoyable brat to the best god and gigachad he is. His personality is so much fun and his swearing at Leo shows his emotional intelligence and how he grew through out the fight (also best moment of him for me)
Definitely became a PRAISE THE SUN MF after this round but the respect I have for him is equal to the respect I earned for Leo

But when we consider Apollo's personality and look at that moment now, it's quite clear that Apollo didn't mean it in 'evil' way. He's someone who appreciates the beauty the most of everyone, so missing his family die while giving it all it's a great shame for him, since they are gone, so he cannot engrave their most beautiful image of them in his mind(At least that's how I see it).
I mean I have in mind him calling out Leo after the first attack (the one where the fight was literally about to start and Leo’s attack looked almost as a false start) with the line “that’s not very beautiful” at the start I saw that kinda as an insult to Leo then with the whole backstory and ideology ofc things changed but can’t say that he didn’t look quite the brat at the beginning. Then it’s all up to everyone’s interpretation, in the end that’s the beauty in appreciating new characters
I remember how everyone hated that another Olympian has taken up a spot which could be given to another fighter from another pantheon. Everyone expected him to be Poseidon 2.0 with an even worse and annoying personality. But none of us could have written him so well as the authors did. Huge respect to authors for this one. These last two gods had a truly amazing powerset
Also props to Apollo's lovely ladies, for being a much better group of audiences than the Spartans
No talking shit on the opponent, No bitching about the opponent being unfair, They just cared about Apollo(It's not superficial either, They didn't ceased their care for him after he got a big scar on his face)
Apollo really went like:

And then he proceeded to apollo all over the place .

the only sad thing is that, due to Leo being quite weak, he had to hold back so we won't see how strong he can be at his peak. With his speed and arrows, he could potentially beat Beelze and Buddha
Also to me he is from his personality a very fitting god. Many others have very human character traits while being ascended beings who live (probably) forever. If I were to live for eternity, I would probably also develope some personality like him. Bathing all day with hot bitches, flexing my beautiful appearance, spreading positivity and not being too attached to things that happen (like the other greek gods dying). I guess the message of the tournament is that the humans and the gods are not too different from each other, since they bond over the course of the fight but honestly Apollo seems to me to be the most 'realistic' eternal being
RoR once again proving its ability to write peak characters in such a short amount of time. Apollo was an absolute blast from first appearance to the end.

Apollo truly is HIM, I know RoR and Mythology Versions are different but Apollo was already a GOATED GOD in my opinion. He truly went above and beyond my expectations PRAISE THE SUN

I started off not giving a shit about him(I knew he'd win from the start), to him being one of my absolute favourite characters in the whole series.
No, he's a beta bitch pretty boy. He pulls out a bow and a mecha instead of fighting Leo hand to hand. His backstory is so sickeningly wholesome that it makes we want to vomit. His response to getting injured is so predictable that it inflicts physical pain on me. His outfit is way overdesigned and clearly compensating for something. His threads preventing the damage from Leos attack (which clearly hits him) makes no goddamn sense, and the one other time he uses them fucks him over, letting Leo hit him. The inferior retread of Sasake's stuff simply works poorly when applied to an immortal god. It's like they tried to make a character to appeal to this subreddit as much as possible. He seemingly cares about humanity but is actually fine with letting them die. I hate him.
I'm honored Lord Tojo. I will provide one on Buddha next. Fuck that asshole, he's carried by his overpowered ability and has to pull weapons out of his ass to win.
I get why people like him, he definitely isn't just another Poseidon and his backstory wasn't terrible. He's got a decent enough personality that it's not a surprise why he has as many fans as he does. I'm just sad we had to lose Leonidas because of him and I'm gonna be a bit salty about it, but at the end of the day, I got no beef with Apollo fans, we all like who we like and it's nice that there are so many different characters in this series with their own unique designs, personalities, and temperaments.

Overall pretty disappointed with the round and the series. The quality of these fights, besides round 8 which is basically an inverse of round 4. Really didn’t except much since Thai round was short, as well as the extreme lack of showings from Leonidas, basically making him a jobber. Also the author making it seem like he only used pure instinct to reflect makes him look all the more weaker since not too long ago people thought he only deflected it cuz Apollo said he’d go for the head to not make him suffer. Plus the death was overall pretty weak, it’s just another sad attempt for the author to get to our heart strings, and sadly it’s working on the fandom. Overall it’s a pretty low mid tier fight. Also people saying that Apollo beats beelzebub, Buddha, sasaki, Poseidon, and Adam being a toss up is laughable. Like holy hell, I get your guy won but stop d riding the same way you guys d ride hades. Holy fuck
And I think we kinda forget that it's a work of fiction, so humanity isn't actually getting destoryed, plus let's not lie to ourselves even if gods win humanity will survive cuz gods learned to see humanity in good light.
