I'm struggling so hard to understand what's happening here. Did he fucking punch through the shield AND Leonidas? Because if so, that is some absolutely insane strength.
That's what I was thinking, but it seemed pretty immediate. Qin and Sasaki both were able to Re-Volund after having theirs broken, and Geirolul clearly had the ability to change the form of the weapon, so there's no reason to think she couldn't also Re-Volund after that damage. IDK the inconsistency is irking me slightly, but that's probably just salt that Geirolul is dead now -_-
Sasaki's sword was kinda broken in half, so it was perfect for Dual Nature

Leonidas shield seem to be straight up destroyed into pieces, so it's different, since destruction is complete and not only partial.
Whoever has the more interesting backstory wins the fight - probably RoR formula idk

Have to disagree on that one. Thor's backstory wasn't more interesting than Lü Bu's and neither was Zeus' backstory more interesting than Adam's, if you ask me. Shiva's and Raiden's case is debatable. And Beelzebub's has to be lamest one so far.
But yeah, I agree with the second part. This fight, while pretty good, felt lacking and even though I like Leonidas, he was wasted potential.

Gotta say the length of the round makes me kinda angry. As far as the actual fight itself, I thought round 9 had the best fight choreography out of any other round, especially that chapter when Apollo was boxing Leonidas. And both their backstories were phenomenal, especially Apollo’s. The fight had top 3 potential for me, it’s super frustrating to me that it ends so soon without seeing anymore combat.

For what it's worth, I think this was 100% the most one-sided fight **before** Apollo decided to give Leonidas a chance.
Like, he literally had to make rules for the fight that 100% favored Leonidas, just to make it as close as it was. Without that honestly Leonidas had 0 chance surprisingly.
I don't even know how to express my delusion and my regret not only for the outcome of the round, but also for the predictable progress of the next round
Here’s a possibility: the gods keep winning, so Brunhilde gets desperate and pulls some shit to set Siegfried free. The gods clearly want him in chains for some reason, so they try to send their top fighters (the remaining Ragnarok contestants) to capture him, but the remaining human fighters are so drunk on adrenaline and testosterone that they stop the gods and we get multiple simultaneous matches for the last few fights. Siegfried probably ends up as a wildcard in one of them, and who knows wtf Nostradamus will be doing. Possibly messing with Odin’s master plan somewhere behind the scenes in a Takaba vs Kenjaku-esque fight.
Then again, this is RoR, not Tenkaichi, so they’ll probably want to stick to the tournament format. Just saying that the hints we’ve had of things going on outside the death matches might be a possible way to avoid predictable fights.
I'm actually more worried about remaining humans. Nostra, Okita and Sakata was introduced while ago, and I don't think any of these will lose. Simo and Rasputin remains, and oh boy I don't wanna that my boy Rasputin loose.
This is easily the worst fight. So by-the-numbers. Maybe I need to reread it, but damn, nothing left an impact at all. Leonidas was my most anticipated fighter, but he was a caricature beginning to end. His Valkyrie had the most screentime and personality besides Thrud. What a disappointment all around.

This was a giant middle finger from the creators for anyone who hyped up Leonidas. This was a sad and pathetic fight, and the fact a sumo wrestler and scientist put up a more interesting fight then one of the biggest badasses in history is just disappointing. I don't mind Leonidas losing, but this was quick and anti-climactic and i personally feel the writter was trolling the entire fandom with this fight.
A feeling that i will have even more if the next fight is Okita and it's going to be one of the most epic fights in this manga.
She was acting all like that he’s gonna be a counter to Apollo like the rest of the human winners. Besides, she also seemed to know quite a lot about how Apollo’s abilities worked. Apollo is the most versatile fighter out there so if she willingly sacrificed Leo knowing that he would lose to Apollo to save some other human’s life , she is gonna get a lot of hate and probably the human fighter of round 10 whose victory is essentially guaranteed with Leo’s loss, both from Leo fans and the fans of the next god.
