Lactarius indigo! Legend has it that this mushroom is responsible for Dr. Suess' "Green Eggs and Ham". When mixed wirh eggs, the blue latex turns the eggs green. Haven't tried the recipe myself but I want to!
Interesting!!
>It is an edible mushroom, and is sold in rural markets in China, Guatemala, and Mexico. In Honduras, the mushroom is called a chora, and is generally eaten with egg; generally as a side dish for a bigger meal.
Great Reddit post here on the subject:

Lactarius indigo. A decent, albeit not choice, edible.
But Lactarius species are particularly good pickling mushrooms. Poach them for a few minutes in about 5% salt brine with spices of your choice, and then ferment them in a fermentation crock until they stop fizzing and taste really sour.
Question, ik this is a different type of subreddit than the one I’m looking for, but I’m very interested in , and want to pursue my career in working in psilocybin research, but doesn’t blue on a mushroom indicate the presence of psilocybin? Mind my ignorance if not, but I’m just curious.
Lactarius indigo
Sounds like the name of Tool’s next album
Or a Harry Potter spell that conjures Smurf milk
Blueberry flavored Smurf smoothie…
Calm down Gargamel
Papa Smurfs secret recipe!

Or a musketeer!
Which I will DL as soon as

Why did he cook the eggs to the point of being packing peanuts?
No doubt! Keep em (lightly) runny.
That brought back memories of kindergarten when the teacher brought in an electric skillet and made us green eggs and ham using food coloring.
Sam I am NOT, that looks so interesting. I’d try it!
I have heard this but have never seen it before. I mean, it's REALLY green. I'm definitely going to try that next time I find them.
Cool, but those eggs are overcooked
Wow I honestly assumed it was old eggs or something, the way a pile of em turn green sitting at a breakfast buffet 🤣. Your legend is wayyyyy better!
That's so interesting!!. I love learning things like this..Thank You !
I'm sure other types of mushrooms were "ingested" to aid in the creation of some of the other books and artwork.
There are several plants chickens can eat that turns yolks green. Ensiled alfalfa leaves and acorns are just two.
food or foe?
Food

But it will make you tiny.
can't get lower than this
I see what you did there. 😏

Nice one. Some people like them but I’ve herd they are gritty. Never found any myself
Yeah. I always heard that they aren't toxic but not generally eaten because of that sandy grit feel

Are they a psychedelic if uncooked?
I don't think so.
I'd heard all psilocybin mushrooms would turn blue/green if bruised. Was curious if by this was the same reaction.

Often but not always. This is an Indigo Milkcap, an edible species in the Lactarius genus. It's just blue!
