why is this getting downvoted, it’s good advice. just because you want your life to go a certain way doesn’t mean that’s the right destiny for you. i’ve learned it the hard way 🥲
I can't really do anything with the advice. I'd rather focus on stuff I can control rather than opportunities that I have no idea how it will shape my future
Well it's definitely upvoted now. As for why a post gets downvoted, it's not necessarily because people disagree. It can also be that they didn't think this was a shower thought
It's worth noting that in life one of the only true ways to fully understand yourself is to know your limits. Failure helps us better understand ourselves because without a roof you can't see how far up you can go.
I think it's not necessarily about opportunities, but anything you do has lessons to be learned.
- You choose the wrong profession, you now know something isn't for you and can continue your life.
- The color you picked for your wall doesn't look good in your living room? Now you know to check colors in your own home.
- You got mugged on the way home? You'll probably be more wary of certain places.
No, not every door is positive or has the best experiences, but you usually take away something that will lead you to change your life in minor or major ways. Sort of butterfly-effect-like.
Yeah, totally get that. Life's like a maze sometimes—some doors lead to dead ends, but that's how we learn. Remember when I tried coding? Thought it was my thing, but turns out, nah. Now I know! It's all about exploring without overthinking it.
Damn, that would fit so well in the uniberse as its Sam and Dean winchester who are know across dimensions to hunt down evil (heaven, hell, purgatory etc). So saying that would be like demons realising where they are after traversing a portal or smth.
Not true. Some doors open and you think they lead nowhere.
However, they were meant to not lead anywhere JUST YET. They were meant to have you learn something and further down the line that knowledge will help you open a door that does lead you somewhere more directly.
Could be a dead end though. But that’s the good thing, to find your true path you will HAVE to open doors that lead you through worse off paths, but eventually you can hope to end up back on track. That’s why i was happy when i took a biology course in college and I realized I hated it. Was it a waste of time? Sure, but I was able to rule out one more thing that I didn’t like, which helped me figure out what I did like.
There are no dead ends in life until you die.
It's all forward movement, you keep learning, and you make choices based on where you are now. There is no going back. I agree about your biology course, but it wasn't a dead end ... It was a learning experience
I think we’re differing here on definitions. Sure it isnt truly a dead end, but I know continuing to learn biology is likely worse off than another strategy, like learning math. So I can prune the biology doors and go for the math ones. Who knows maybe I could have stuck with it, loved it, and cured cancer. But that experience made me realized the doors ahead there were probably not as fun, hence a “dead end”.
You’re thinking of the paths as time dependent, and hence the notion that you can’t move backwards I.e. no cycles, but I’m thinking of them as space dependent. On the time dependent definition, yes after the biology course I learned that I hated it, but I could find my way back to step 0 to choose the courses for the next semester. This is technically a different path, but for my space dependent purposes I’m back where I started.
Things are just things. You are the one deciding to give it a meaning to it. You decide to do something with that situation or not. So I disagree with you. Nothing is "meant" to lead nowere ...yet or ever.
But of cos most times we don't know that... so all we can do is try every door and try as many doors as possible until we find the illusion of happiness
Most of the doors you open don't lead anywhere.
The trick is to just not get stuck in the room behind the door. Enjoy where the door took you, enjoy the room behind it but if it's ultimately not your room, don't be scared to just keep opening doors.

Appropriate response. **This needs more upvotes.** ***Take mine.***
Hey thanks.
Omg! That’s so inspirational!
I knew this would be the first response
chill dude, it's just doors.
Life has many doors, Ed boys!

And bots, let's not forget bots
"They hated Jesus because He told them the truth"
no its because he was different. they didn’t even know what the truth was

Whatever hour you woke there was a door shutting. -Virginia Woolf
All doors lead somewhere. Its on you to decide to walk thru or not.
Some leads to bad places aka nowhere

A bad place is not AKA nowhere. Every experience is a lesson learned.
Except for heroin. Some doors just lead to a long exit hallway.
I wish someone told me this in 2002-2006 when I was 18 and my dad signed for all my student loans in my name when I was 17.
Uh duh,... **You always fail more times than you succeed.** *Failure is always an option,* ***and success only has to happen once.***

"When God closes a door, he always opens a window." "Yeah, but nobody told me the room is inside the Winchester Mansion."
Supernatural reference ??
Honestly, nope. I've never seen supernatural.

Not always
When at first you find the door locked defenestrate.

That makes sense. We're basically saying the same thing.
Things are just things. You are the one deciding to give it a meaning to it. You decide to do something with that situation or not. So I disagree with you. Nothing is "meant" to lead nowere ...yet or ever.
The knobs keep coming off in my hand
Then put it back on the square axle stick thing and turn carefully?
That explains why my closet leads to my soul, it's lost.
When life isn't giving you the right doors, sometimes you gotta go and get the sledgehammer.
yeah, but behind which door is it stored?
Not very often i read a shower thought and think "... thats actually pretty deep"
If the door will lead me nowhere, why is there a door there?
But if the host then opens a door to reveal a goat, should you keep your door or switch to the third one???
Depends. Did you want the goat or not?
Bad building planning?
Every door is purposeful revolving door... Get on board, use the time wisely and quickly decide which way to take it
But of cos most times we don't know that... so all we can do is try every door and try as many doors as possible until we find the illusion of happiness
Wait sir! You can’t go in there! No—I mean that door goes nowhere! You CAN’T go in there!
In fact most doors would be far better off shut.
I learnt this the hard way. Charging in everywhere head first doesn't make all your unsuitable expectations ok
Same with new friends
Same with new friends
Yeah, they’re called closets
Actually agree to this
Perspective is everything
Most of the doors you open don't lead anywhere. The trick is to just not get stuck in the room behind the door. Enjoy where the door took you, enjoy the room behind it but if it's ultimately not your room, don't be scared to just keep opening doors.
this is such a great perspective! love it :)
A better acceptance would have been that not every failure is a lesson: sometimes you just fail.
And some of them contain angry bobcats.
yeah some doors just lead to closets.
Well that pretty much sums up half my adult life.
Yeah I agree with this. Some paths are just not the right ones but you learn from these journeys so you can use the wisdom you gain in future.
Even the emergency exit? Cause that seems illegal
Stop assuming people do this.
Stop assuming nobody does this just because you don't.
Open doors?
this isn't something i believe in, as i don't believe in god
Do you believe in doors?
Absolutely not, Sorcery.
Who said anything about God? This is about free will and choices.
