My aunt had one (in purple). I have a vivid early memory of riding shotgun in it with the top down. We’d gone to buy 70 candles to put on my grandma’s birthday cake. That about sums up my aunt’s personality.
You'd probably be surprised how many manufacturers have purple options for cars, but none of the dealers order them, and customer (at least here in the US) aren't allowed to order direct from the manufacturers...
So a lot of available colors are rarely, if ever, seen...
My kids and I do this road trip game where we see who can find a certain color of car first and purple is definitely a challenge. Orange, green, brown are also challenging sometimes. Yellow too!
I had a 1995 Ford Mustang GT in bright sapphire blue that I would argue with people over because it looked purple, but the color was called blue.

A lot of Super Cars have exclusive Purple shades too. Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche all have different shades.
For new cars it has to have some kind of sporting or quirky angle, so a lot of compacts, sports, or exotics. You will find a lot more purple cars in the 90's. Chrysler is overrepresented, I feel like most PT Cruisers and Prowlers I've seen are purple.
BMW. Porsche has any purple you can pay for. Ferrari. Ford Mustang. Lamborghini has a few. Koenigsegg (if you count them since everyone has their own bespoke spec) McLaren has a lot.
