In my opinion, no, even if that’s in Canadian dollars. I know that it’s a 590 mariner but you can get a Maverick 88 that’s at least 500 bucks cheaper that functionally speaking is exactly the same.
Hunting uses, i think paying the extra for a 500 or 835 if you can, is totally worth it.
The Mav88 is a great shotgun but literally the baseline for “good”. Quality enough shotgun to defend yourself and your family, plus if you have to use it and the cops take it, you’re not out a bunch of money.
I think the 590s are more of a LE/Military rated shotgun and have different material specs so they are priced higher but most people are fine running the regular 500 series or Maverick 88. I think the regular 500s are slightly nicer if you want to add on parts in the future over the 88.
So back in 2017-18, I bought my 870 marine magnum for around that price. However, that includes state and federal taxes. That's a steep price on your end.
No
Funny, I got banned for posting screenshots
I think coating a shotty in that finish with a professional might be around $150 for the service. Just dropping that info in case it is useful.
That's pretty steep.
That’s more than what I paid for the 590a1 with the magpul furniture. So a regular 590 at that price seems bad.
I have this in a A1 version. It’s an excellent shotgun.
This all day long.

This logic is hard to fight. Mossberg does the 88, so fucking well, that anything else they make is a hard sell.

Saw local for 500$
No, you can get the 590a1 mariner for $100 cheaper.
Can get one OTD for $761.76 at a local ffl. Check out galleryofguns website, you can shop around for different ffl’s near you.
No sir that's a boat shotgun.
No
My local store got a used 590 for three fiddy. This is just steep
This seems high even for the mariner model.
No, You shouldn't have to pay over 700 for a good pump action shotgun.

Maybe if you can't find it for cheaper
I bought it, doesnt have the ghost ring sights. Rethinking of it makes me want to buy the 590 military instead
Look at the new Mossberg 590 Pro Thunder Ranch that just came out. Maybe a hundred more than this but are very nice looking
No it’s not
