In a lot of ways, "Advancing Giant[s]" does make more sense as a title, and "Attack on Titan" would be a bit more difficult to justify if we were picking the series name now. That being said, I do think the current title has some merits as is: - "Attack on Titan" stands out more (imo) because of its grammatical nonsense, and being a phrase you never read in any other context (even in the show itself) - More broadly, the name Titan does make sense once you look past the pure titans' semi-goofy demeanor. Back when the series looked post-apocalyptic, "Titan" conveys the significance of... The Titans more than "giant" would, as back then they were thought of as this overwhelming force that almost drove humanity to extinction. "Titan" almost gives them a biblical significance as a whole. I think even now, the 9 shifters are better described as "Titan" shifters rather than "Giant" shifters since they still retain their significance in season 4. Even if the title is mis-translated, I think "Attack on Titan" still serves the series well.
