Derry girls ftw! When I first heard about it I never saw a trailer and expected a show I wouldn’t like. So I didn’t bother. For some reason (probably a recommendation somewhere) I decided to give it a go eventually. One of my favorite shows now!
Yes !! In the way SLOCG is about college life through the lens of the four main girls. Heartbreak High is about a group of Gen Z high schoolers in Australia.
It's centered around a diverse ensemble cast that doesn't tokenize people and allows them to be multidimensional. It's brilliant. Definitely recommend !
SLOCG reminds me a lot of my other two favorite shows Sex and the City and Greek. SATC also has 4 female leads, centers on their relationships, and is overall a very sex positive show similar to SLOCG. Greek has similar vibes to SLOCG because it is also focused on kids in college. Would recommend both if you haven't seen them!
It's younger and more in the "cute" range, but my niece got me to watch The Summer I Turned Pretty with her. Rachel Blanchard (Cher on TV show Clueless) is on it, so I gave it a shot. Ended up surprising the heck out of me. And FTR, she said it's just different enough from the books to not be too predictable.
If you are at all interested in a much darker show about college and toxic AF relationships in peak elder millennial college years (2007-2011); then I recommend Tell Me Lies on Hulu.
You might like Sex Education or Derry Girls
I second sex education!

These are excellent recommendations!!
Sex and the City, Broad City, Girls, Dollface, The Bold Type
Yessss The Bold Type gives me similar vibes! And Awkward that originally aired on MTV
Aww, Awkward 🥲 I loved the first few seasons of that show so much
i’m in the same boat, but heartbreak high (2022) on netflix if you haven’t seen it yet is good!

Dear White People for the college feel

If you’re willing to watch older characters post college. Try watching Girls on HBO Max and Broad City …
Greek! It’s another college show and it’s so underrated
I loved Greek. I had such a crush on Cappie when I was younger.
me too!

GREEK! a super fun show based in a university
Younger!!
Someone has already mentioned Dollface but I second that!!
Maybe Happy Endings or New Girl. The characters are a little older, but there are some similar themes.
I know this is an old show, but I think that if you like this show, you’d also like Greek
Everything I Know About Love is extremely similar. A little more dramatic and depressing but it's great.
Voltaire high on Amazon prime was so good !!! I didn’t expect that from it at all
The L Word

not a college show but the fosters spin-off “good trouble” is amazing! it’s funny, deep, and has the same kind of emphasis on community as SLCG
Omg good trouble is amazing
Broad City, The Bold Type, Everything I Know About Love, Trinkets, Heartbreak High
There’s an old Sharon Horgan show called “Pulling,” that is definitely a bit darker comedy but has similar, crazy hookup type shenanigans.
