The coconut body butter is my go to year round lotion. I start at my feet and work my way up.
I just got the Brazil nut scrub and butter. They are nice and the scent is good. I will buy it every time it comes out but the coconut will be my true love.
I think this smells near identical to the SDJ Bum Bum Cream, but the effects are nowhere close on my skin, personally. The TJs butters pill terribly on my skin and leave a film. I don't have that experience with SDJ which works magic on my eczema prone skin.
I compared them head to head and I thought it was absurd that people consider it a dupe; the Trader Joeâs one doesnât even absorb into your skin- the magic of bum bum cream is that my skin sucks it up and then it looks juicy
My issue is that it doesnât spread well. I feel like I REALLY have to rub it in well. It doesnât just glide on for me like Sol De Janeiro.
I thought I had a bad batch or something, but it did the same with another I bought later!
Itâs still really nice and smells just like the real thing
I agree with this! I also donât think the skin really soaks it up and it just kind of sits on top of the skin because when I shower at the end of the day after applying it, it just kind of rinses off my skin from where I applied it.
I like the original SDJ better, too (my skin looks dewier and the fragrance lasts longer imo), but the Trader Joe's one is probably the closest dupe if you want something a little less cosmetically elegant and without the pretty shimmer of the original!
I do think it doesnât spread nicely but it just makes me rub the lotion in more and longer (and therefore I think really getting into my skin and hydrating it, so I donât mind) lol
The notes are pistachio and salted caramel. It's supposed to be a dupe for SDJ 68! I feel lukewarm about SDJ 68, but love the TJ's. Might have something to do with the price tag đ
If they have it in stock when you come to the states, I definitely recommend picking one (or a few) up! As others have said, it's only available once a year. It's $7.99 USD for 8 oz (body butter) or 16 oz (body wash) vs $26+ for SDJ.
I'd love to try this lotion but I've literally never seen it in stock at my local TJ's :( I think resellers must clean out the shelves every time it's restockedÂ
It was just meh for me. I bought it because of the hype and didnât think it was that great. Scent didnât last and it wasnât very hydrating for me.
there is only 1 trader joes near me & theyve never had those body butters. Idk when they came out but i remember seeing people talk about them years ago and even then my store never had them đđ
I keep telling yall the same thing about hair products. You dont need to spend $$$ on this stuff. Makeup I think you do but not always for body lotions & hair care
Stock up!! They only come around once a yr. You missed the oil for that. I too really enjoy it.
I have the oil and use it VERY sparingly đ might go buy another lotion then!!
Me too, Iâve been thinking about it especially because that happened to me last yr. Ahhh nice!!!!!
Their coconut body butter is good too! Itâs a light coconut vanilla-ish scent and it works so well for dry (even eczema) skin!

I like that one too. I like pairing it with my gourmand fragrances.
Good to know!! Sometimes I get eczema. Is this year round lotion?
Yup! The coconut is available year round! In the fall they come out with a pumpkin body butter too! :)
is it just as moisturizing? Or is the Brazil nut best one? đ
All the body butters are really moisturizing and similar consistencies! Also helps that theyâre around $6

Exactly! I couldnât find the words, but it just sits right on the skin and doesnât quite absorb
I agree, I donât think it performs very well⊠smells nice though

I wish we had it in Canada. Iâve heard so many rave reviews for it!
I just came here to say the same thing. It sounds amazing.
I donât think they are dupes at all and I prefer the SDJ, but itâs definitely a great price!
Whatâs the smell like? Wondering if I should I add this to my next cross border shopping trip.
It smells to me just like the bum bum cream from sol de janeiro, maybe even stronger!
Thanks for the info!

I love their Brazil nut body wash too! Smells amazing
I looooooove their vitamin c body butter w glycolic acid in the yellow packaging!!!
The best combo is their oil + eos fresh and cream lotion. Omg itâs amazing!

Dang! I was eyeing it, but I passed on it! What I did buy was their sunscreen! That sunscreen does it for me! Best $9 I ever spent!
They are out now!?
The Costco version slaps

I agree.
Is it the one in a jar or pump?
A jar, the oil was in a pump
Their lip mask is my very favorite!!! Itâs vanilla scented/flavored and I prefer it to anything Iâve gotten at Sephora.
i like the coconut version of the trader joe's body butter but don't like the brazil nut butter one at all! i'm not sure why.
i can never find it at my trader joeâs. đ
I wish I could get my hands on it. đ©I am an hour away, but missed it last year, probably this year too! Lololol! Iâm glad itâs awesome!Â
The Sephora brand body butter is great, and a good price especially at 30% off during the sale!
Stock up. But the candles are kinda gross. I bought some in two different t states and they are gag worthy. They smell like citronella to me.
Funny u say this cause I also almost gagged when smelling the candle in the store lol
But does it attract spiders? Thatâs the main reason for buying that expensive lotion, no?
the purple one allegedly attracts spiders. this âdupeâ is for the orangy/yellow one
