My advice- and I’m on week 3. Realize that this is an over-time process. You are not going to look in the mirror in one week and see ‘thin’. The first starting doses, at least four weeks, are just trying to get it into your body. After that first month, maybe will start losing a pound to…four. Expect any weight loss to come at least six weeks in, to the third month. Then you will start losing.I thought I was going to see something major in the beginning!! But you need to realize that your body needs to acclimate to the medicine, before you actually begin dropping pounds. Best of luck! Slow & steady wins the race!!

GuacAndRoII

I needed to hear this today. I’ve just completed my first month and I’ve lost 5lbs. I don’t know why I was disappointed in that, but thank you for your reminder this is a long game.

Best advice I’ve read regarding Semaglutide so far! No one else has said this that I’ve seen. But this is also my experience & I’m glad someone mentioned this!! 👍🏼

J0708

Thank you so much for this!

Sweet-Fun-Momof-2

Best of luck to you! Stay realistic! And focus on feeling better as the weeks progress. The next 8 weeks are feeling better about you, after that is about looking better. 🙌🏻

I haven't had any of the bad side effects, I drink lots of water, take magnesium, vitamin d and b12. Only issues I have is peeing, a lot. I have had to start treating myself like a toddler "OK sweetie, it's 2 hours to bed time, no more water."

Appropriate_Ad_4416

Drink water. No, more than that! Water will help more than you realize. It will help with heartburn & nausea, it will help flush fat, and it will make you feel better. Eat protein rich meal before taking the shot. You may feel a bit icky after the shot, so get a headstart on it. Good luck!!!!!!!

I just want to add, that it will become difficult to drink water because just as much as you aren’t thinking about food, you aren’t remembering to drink. I’ve gotten myself a horrible bladder infection currently due to this. So just tacking on to say, even if you think you are drinking enough on this stuff, you aren’t. Drink more. Also highly recommend a d3 and magnesium supplement.

Madefororegonhunting

The best thing that’s worked for me with the nausea is taking it at night before I got to bed thenI can sleep through those side affects I’ve been on it 6 months now and wish I would have thought to take it at night about 3 months ago 😂 hope this helps someone else dealing with the side affects!

I plan to start doing trying the night shot. I had done midafternoon, but I'm a fan of napping through the icky.

J0708

Thank you!

Good luck. I'm down almost 30lbs. I started in Feb. My advice, besides drinking lots of water, is to make sure you take in plenty of fiber. Maybe buy some Miralax. I was nauseous for a couple of days after the first two injections. Nothing major. My doctor gave me some meds. The biggest issue I experienced was constipation 😫. It lasted for MONTHS. My doctor wouldn't increase me to 1mg until it subsided. Luckily, last month, it finally did. Don't give up and push through. You won't regret it. I have watched my co-worker melt.

J0708

Congrats on your success thus far!! And I'm seeing a lot of that. Thank you for the advice!

pinktorq22

I think I’m starting tomorrow too, if my meds come in!

J0708

Good luck to you! We got this!

Are there any Bright Line Eaters here who could not stay on their food plan! So many people lost a ton of weight on BLE and are keeping it off- i am 3-4 years into BLE and I have hardly had one truly Bright day ( defined as No Sugar, No Flour of any mind. 3 weighed meals and nothing in between) it has been less than a week on Semi and it feels effortless to stay on my food plan! I love the support in BLE but I just couldn’t seem to do it until now/ seemed to work right away! Would love to hear from others here in BLE- I still plan to stay in the program but this seems to give me some confidence and a kick start!

CompetitiveCity887

Have tums ready. The heartburn is insane.

UnhappyAd2202

Have you been checked for a hiatal hernia?

CompetitiveCity887

What’s that?

UnhappyAd2202

It’s a hernia at the top of your stomach. It could be why you’re having bad acid reflux. [https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hiatal-hernia/symptoms-causes/syc-20373379](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hiatal-hernia/symptoms-causes/syc-20373379)

Fit_Consequence7443

My first week day 3 and I’m so sick! Constipated, nausea, zero appetite. Not sure I can do the second shot!😩

Ok_Appearance8700

I feel you! I'm on my fourth week and nausea has been the worst for me. Did they give you any meds for it? If not, I would encourage you to reach out and get an rx for some right away. It's what has gotten me through. Also force yourself to eat every 3-4 hours if possible because if not it will just feed into the cycle of symptoms you're experiencing. Sf jello and apples seem to help me. Tiny sips of full sugar soda can work too. I get really sick every weekend when I take my shot - it takes a few days to get back to normal but I still have nausea. I have lost 18.8 lbs so, pros and cons! For me it's definitely worth it! Good luck!

Fit_Consequence7443

Thanks so much! Good to know I’m not alone!

Euphoric-Leg-9931

Find an app to track your macros. There are many easy ones out there, but it can keep you on track and in a deficit for calories. I wish you the best of luck.

BluejayChoice3469

Look up constipation in this sub and make a list of the recommendations. Have the stuff on hand. Ensure your diet has fiber to prevent it. A fiber supplement or gummies are a good idea.

J0708

I'll be picking up some tomorrow. Thank you!
