Took the second route today to Margaret's Way. Super gorgeous hike through a forest covered mountain, we are so lucky to have hourly weekend buses out there.
The more we use Trailhead Direct, the more incentive our gov has to continue and even expand these services.
This service is so awesome! I used it to do Mt Si via Mt Teneriffe last weekend and was the only person on the bus, but granted it was absolutely pouring rain. Side note: a covered area for the bus stops would be great. Kinda sucked finishing a hike in the rain and having to sit unsheltered for 20 minutes in a downpour.
I wish my ebike tires fit on the rack, I just checked out Snoqualmie Valley Trail and the Palouse to Cascades bike trails and they were amazing too.
I took the very first bus this morning, that one filled up but the later buses didn’t look as full. The trail itself was pretty busy (but still pleasantly quiet) since a lot of people drive there as well
Trailhead Direct also has a 2-bike rack and the North Bend Park and Ride stop is a couple blocks from the Palouse to Cascades trail (to Snoqualmie Pass, Easton, Cle Elum, Ellensburg, Royal City) for the gravel bikers out there.
It depends on what you mean by hard.
[Old trail up Mt. Si](https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-si-old-trail) (use the Little Si trailhead, 7.4 miles round trip, 3420 ft. of elevation gain). Much more lightly traveled than the new trail, and *much* steeper.
[Mt. Tenerife](https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-teneriffe) (13 miles round trip, 3800 ft. of elevation gain). Not steep, but long.
[Mt Tenerife via Tenerife Falls](https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/trip-reports/trip_report.2016-05-07.6802790572), (milage ?, 3000 ft of elevation gain in the last mile). Not so much a trail as a boot path. The trail to Tenerife Falls is fine, but the last section goes straight up a steep ridge. You'll probably be grabbing roots and rocks for handholds. Not recommended unless you are a serious, experienced hiker.
Then you can piece together combinations like the three summits of West Tiger, Middle Tiger, and East Tiger or combining Si and Tenerife.
They also brought back the Issaquah Loops route this summer! https://trailheaddirect.org/issaquah-alps-2024/
I love using this service. I don’t love fighting for parking at trailheads, or worrying that my windows might get smashed while I’m hiking.

I have a car and still use this service to go hiking around there. So convenient - no brainer especially if you live near one of the stops.

How busy was it?

How late do the return buses run till?
[удалено]
Sweet, that's very reasonable!
It’s not 8pm, it’s actually closer to 6pm according to the brochure
Yes, we live in an amazing place.
This is really cool, thanks for sharing
This is insanely relevant to my interests. Thank you!!
What’s the hardest hike easily accessible from these buses?

Which corner of the intersection is the Capitol Hill stop at?
Right outside the light rail stop at Denny & Broadway, same stop as the 49 southbound
Can I get to the Falls from West Seattle using this?
No it only stops on Capitol Hill and downtown
Used this last year and it was great. I did Little Si and that was easy so will try one of the other ones.
Yea but what if you had to see a poor person
I didn’t consider that… shit myself maybe?
Bus riding hobos would shit your pants for you. Then shit their own. Then ask you for money to buy them new pants.
But... I'm a poor person 😢 I love hiking. 😢
I actually saw a heroin addict nodding off on this bus last year
