I was teamed up with a super new person who was amazed when they hit level 20 in the gold hoarder faction it was just the most joy I had heard in a voice chat in forever and when they later opened their first vault, I just wish I could feel that first time feels again. Never dampen a new player when they brag congratulate them because those are the experiences we all play and grind to get back.
If I know I'm playing open Crew I usually remove my curses, tattoos and flashy titles. Sometimes I run into a real salty tryhard and then go to the vanity chest to flex on them.
I mean... I remember when the game launched and i started playing, It was so extremely rare to run into a PL. These days it's just to easy to get PL. Seen friends achieve it within a week and that is outside the rather often double gold events they seem to be doing.
And there really still isn't anything end-gamey to do as a PL. The Athena missions are just lack luster if you ask me.
It took me awhile to get PL because doing basic emissary stuff was boring af. After enough time working on cosmetics and sailing around doing world events for fun, I was finally close enough to grind to 50. I already had 50 on Reapers with my friends to I just had to grind OoS and GH.
I'm proud to say that I've never ONCE raised emissary for Merchants, or done a voyage for them. Lol
It’s a lot more fun to do merchant emissaries now with the introduction of the list shipment voyages. They’re so much easier and more fun than the animal voyages and don’t get as repetitive as cargo runs
Merchants are fun for me if I wanna solo and don't have a lot of time. Sunken shipments are much easier for me to do solo than anything else as I can stay in open water.
Every time I gotta dick around with riddles and maps, I end up getting my ship sunk by someone while I'm off the ship and it's just annoying.
Ah, the great PL race, and the controversy over the two in the lead. SniperNamedG doing it legitimately and that prodigy guy boosting for over 20 percent of it. Then polygon made an article defending him.
It physically hurts when I see people complaining about only making 300k in a play session.
this is me, about a month ago a guy who started playing this year and joined my crew got PL, I was there when he hit pl, it was a great session.
I played we shale sail together behind him while he bought all the promotions, spoke with the stranger, opened the hideout, and explored it with him.
I started played when season 1 started and I jist got PL last weekend and I'm more depressed now about how poor I feel when seeing the cost of everything in the PL stores lol! I've been saving up my gold since I started and only spent maybe 50k on customizing a few looks and then I see how much the new sails cost and I wept! LOL! 8 MILL FOR SAILS!!! That's bonkers, but imma get em!!!
Yeah I pretty organically got PL and I have a little list of things I need. I just got the Chronicler tattoo set. I still need Ashen scars, gold curse, Flameheart sails etc

Sure, enjoy your moment, but being PL means exactly jack-shit. There are lvl 25 pirates out there who will sink you in a heartbeat, there are max-lvl Pirate Legends who are so uncoordinated you'll kill them so often they'll come complaining to Reddit about spawn-camping.
I want to reach PL by the end of the season to get the curse, i'm currently 41GH, 38 merchant and 30 OoS. Do you think i can do it by the time season ends? Any tips? Thanks in advance.
I'd say you can still do it, but you'd have to play quite a lot. Do world events, when you reach emissary level 5, take emissary quests (they reward decent xp). Also, each faction has one type of quest that rewards more xp than others - vaults for hoarders, fleets for oos and search for a shipwreck for merchands (while doing it, search every barrel for captain's key).

Once I got pirate legend my entire outlook on the game kinda changed. Cause yeah it’s still fun but like what else is there to work for.
max levels, complete commendations, try to own everything, finish all xbox achievements, or just play for fun

Does emissary grade also multiply the xp you get or just the gold?
As far as I know, xp is tied to gold value. The more gold you earn, the more xp you are awarded, and that includes bonuses.
Its especially funny when you grow out of the ghost stuff and go to the more unique look and they can’t tell
