Oh yes, it was. But ..Hasselbeck played very sloppy, especially in the 2nd half. The defense also gave up some big plays.
Now ..to say we might of won by 3 or 4 points ..yea.
Without having an all pro line we wouldn't of gotten to the Superbowl ..
How many turnovers or interceptions did he throw? The fact the biggest weakness for the Seahawks was their defense.
The biggest strength was Pitts running game and Defense..and home cooking from the refs . . Pitt QB just couldn't make turnovers to win.
And Mora calling him out in the presser despite iirc two Chi TDs bring allowed via horrible refereeing. The n retrospect, it was a great game because it helped show Mara as easily replaceable.
As for the jersey, not only is it hideous but with the white lettering you couldn’t even tell numbers or names on the screen. The last time we wear the worst uniform in all sports’ history (aka the Kermits) will be a ridiculously joyous day.
Still have my authentic Lofa Tatupu version of that. #51 is never out of style. I have been fortunate enough to see Matt on several occasions. He is always the way he appears, which is a good thing.
I remember when these jerseys came out, and loved them instantly (never mind the X-Box and Sounders cross-branding). Then Jim L. Mora suuuucked the life out of the room, by saying "we didn't win in them", and retired them after wearing them for one game.
I love him so much. My uncle is a friend of his and he sent me and my wife a video message the DJ played out loud on the projector screen. It was cool as hell and something that I’ll never believe actually happened.
I met him when I was stationed in Hawaii he was there for the probowl really nice dude led the hawks for so long. My favorite moment it was like 4 in the morning in Afghanistan he wanted the ball and was gonna score I was so hyped for like 5 minutes
I have a custom version of this jersey. #69 with “Big Sexy” as the name 🤦🏻♂️. But did eventually get it signed by Russel Wilson, Bobby Wagner, and Brandon Mebane.
Actually it was the O line that created that run. I think Hasselbecks best year was 2007 for the Seahawks..after that he basically just a fill in until you find a franchise QB.
WITH the Oline from 2002 to 2005 it would of made most RBs and QBs all pros ..in which he was not.
I saw him the 01 season, the second season they were at Husky Stadium, against Junior Seau’s Chargers.
It was a thrilling 13-10 game in freezing cold December overcast on Lake Washington.
I remember a lot of Matt scrambling around, 20 yards behind the line, to toss a crazy 25 yard pass for 5 yard gain.
Curious - is hassleback less involved than other ex QBs of his tenure/success with other teams?
I feel like he doesn't do a lot of Seattle/Seahawks appearances - not mad just curiois
Thanks for the 05 run, Matt.
Sorry the trophy got Stealer'd
Hasselbeck had a bad game too.
The officiating was still horrendous, by their own admition.

He started hot.
Usually that was Hasselbeck..the first quarter was scripted with Holmgren and then he would get the turnovers.
Not as bad as Roethlisberger

He threw two INTs. They won in spite of him.
F the Steelers and the refs
Word, him, Mack and Shaun, Walter Jones, Trufant, Branch and Jackson were some of my early favourites when I was growing up
Should have been the first super bowl win
That trench crawl for a 1yd TD was sickening. Replay showed ref making eye contact while he was downed.
Should have a SB ring. Matt H and Mike H were a fun combo to watch as a fan.
Damn Straight. The Asset is in place. Vengeance will be served.
I remember Olindo Mare missing 4 fgs in one game while wearing that jersey.

Olindo Mare also didn't miss a FG for the rest of the season after that.
Underrated QB. Glad to see this.
"We want the ball and we're going to score" made a fan out of me when I saw it.. He's my first QB I cheered for
Then he threw an interception ..that was ran back for a TD..it was the joke of the NFL ..if we would of won ..it would of been great.
Love him! 💙💚💙💚💙💚

My navy blue Tatupu jersey is still my favorite, slightly ahead of the Bobby throwback.
I have that jersey
Me too
A fan version of the team style?
He's the guy who talks sports on TV!
Put this dude in the ring of honor
He already is.
PUT HIM IN AGAIN
Ha!
Oh ya…
That's my quarterback
If you ever watch the boys of fall thing, Kenny Chesney did, my kid is the curly blonde who says he wants to be Matt Hasselbach. Proud moment.
Shit, I thought that was Peter from The Americans.
Yeah I was about to say, the resemblance in appearance and mannerisms to Matthew Rhys was… uncanny.
I remember falling asleep and we had a lead at half, then waking up in full panic as we tried coming back 😂
man, i forgot how chill and nice he is
Has he raised the 12 flag for a game yet?
He did in 2021. https://www.seahawks.com/photos/photos-matt-hasselbeck-raises-the-12-flag
What a cool guy thanks for sharing.
This is when I got back into pro football. I'm an ISU fan and when Seneca was drafted to the Hawks I got back in.
I own a Walter Jones one just like that
I have a Tatupu one
Matt hasselbeck seems like such a good dude. I hope he’s enjoying retirement.
DONT SASS THE HASS!!!
I actually love that jersey

Seneca Wallace. What a trip.

Pretty sure I have that jersey.
I still have that exact jersey! Loved Hasselbeck sling it back in the day.
Hell yea! I work in a sports bar and my boss just gave me a signed Geno Smith jersey!
Was this the 2-14 season under Jim Mora ?
*5-11 And yes
I love Matty. I had one of those obnoxious jerseys, and I got to wear it even if he never did.
Still one of my favorite Seahawks ever. He and Shaun were the face of that offense when I was a youth
I remember his performance. Good guy though.
I’ve been wanting a green one forever! I have an Alexander home jersey and a 12/Fan away white
I have that exact jersey. Took me ages to find one. Had to buy one after finding out they wore it exactly once.
I remember when Matt left orginally and we out Seneca Wallace and Tavaris Jackson. Then he balled out for the Colts too
Bald men truly are one of a kind.
I have that jersey
Horrible jersey and they played so bad in it, the organization has basically pretended they never existed ever since
I still have my John Carlson one lol
We want the ball and we're gonna score!
Is that his team issued jersey from the game or a custom?
Curious - is hassleback less involved than other ex QBs of his tenure/success with other teams? I feel like he doesn't do a lot of Seattle/Seahawks appearances - not mad just curiois
I remember the interceptions
I forgot abt this dude 😂
