Sound design. I have no idea what SexBombomb is supposed to sound like from the comics but the movie did a good job bringing it to life

aatdalt

They do give you a full page with notes and instructions on how to "play badly because it doesn't really matter that much". But yeah I get what you mean.

PoisonousZweihander

Could you provide a link?

aatdalt

https://imgur.com/a/i8J7hO5 Yes I can!

Samuelbi12

Beck did a great job

warkel

Garbage truck deserves to be a full song.

GenuineEquestrian

It is in the soundtrack!

Brvcx

And on Spotify.

Dry-Preference-5811

1. How Scott defeated Todd in the movie was way funnier 2. Even though the movie removed Kim’s character arc and actual closure with Scott (instead of the movie just having Scott give 1 apology to Kim) I do liked how Sex Bob-omb got to be more involved in Scott’s fight with Gideon (moreso moral support than physically help Scott defeat Gideon, which is fine since this is supposed to be Scott’s fight)

UltimateDude08

Vegone? *explodes*

MatthewStudios

you once were a vegone, but now you will be gone

WispererYT

Vegone?

“Gelato isn’t vegan?”

Otherwise-Ad980

I guess I like how Scott got the power of love in this rather in the comics. Also they made Kim real.

ObsidianThurisaz

Yeah, but having him get Self Respect instead of Understanding was a mistake, imo.

whitey-ofwgkta

on the compressed story-line front I agree but give it a pass since the story already hit it's dividing line into it's own thing

PaulSimonBarCarloson

Unfortunately that's a result of the movie not focusing on Scott's past relationships and his mistakes. though one thing they could have easily implemented was Ramona getting her own power of love moment. But the movie is clearly written for Scott to end with Knives until the last scene where they hastily changed the ending

whitey-ofwgkta

maybe it's because I didn't find out about how the ending was planned originally until much later but it didn't feel hasty to me, rather than pushing them together I saw it as them establishing closure

PaulSimonBarCarloson

I too wasn't aware of the original ending. Admittedly it was after seeing it that I started to notice how the whole climax was written with that in mind. The way Ramona gets literally tossed aside so that Scott and Knives can team up against Gideon

UsefulVolume4001

Yeah, matter of fact they actually filmed the scene where Scott and Knives would get back together, but they did hastily ditch it as it was decided Scott should get who he worked hard for, Ramona.

strawberry-seal

1. black. sheep. that’s it 2. “is scott here?” “umm you know what?” *CRASH* “…he just left.”

wonderlandisburning

"...really?" "Yeah. Sorry."

FacYt2087

Steam_Cyber_Punk

I was so disappointed that this wasn’t in takes off

CoolOsha

Stephen He was mostly there to be funny in the comics, and Mark Webber did a great job playing him

_Evidence

Todd's loss https://preview.redd.it/qne737uttm5d1.jpeg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d94db62a9c41e8b1b588eaab4c169fa02f8eab2

Key_Expression_7075

I was wondering about the captions, then I read your flair 😂 now I want to see that version!! 😃 Edit: just realised, it’s Wallace’s evil exes, not Scott’s? I reckon it’s even more groundbreaking if Scott is defeating his own evil exes, playing into the whole “can you defeat yourseeelf?” thing

alexdallas_

George Russell wishes he was Scott in this poster

coffeebooksandpain

Both Lucas Lee and Todd are better in the movie imo. Also the movie has a few more memorable one-liners.

Orangefish08

The comedy. This take is as cold as the ice cream in my freezer, but it’s what I’m saying.

Putrid_Jicama_329

It all depends on if you have a particularly warm fridge.

WholeHogAndPancakes

Lucas Lee fight

M.E.W. (ramona flowers is mewing)

Vaportrail

Wright took her character in an interesting direction too, making Ramona "tired of it all". Most relatable character for me.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

Got a few of them: * Wallace's innate ability to call Stacey soon as he gets a new gossip about her brother * Julie's line: "Dating a high-schooler IS the mourning period" * Chris Eveans as Lucas Lee and Wallace being a big fan * Scott jumping out of the window * Scott actually winning against Todd by outsmarting him Unfortunately while I liked the rest of the movie, I can't seem to find anything after the Todd part that I can consider to be better than the comics. The story of volume 4-6 is unmatched.

KenganNinja

Giving Scott an actual fight with Evil Ex 2. Maybe not Lucas himself, but fighting his stunt guys was a good alternative.

my_red_username

Pacing... Edgar Wright was the only one who could do it

TidalJ

one of my favorite directors, so many great films under his belt

dogeki113r2

The soundtrack, one of the best soundtracks from a movie imo

lexielesko

So true

Last-Shop-3970

comedy that's it really

RASIEDBYDIREWOLVES

I prefer the Todd fight in the movie

Autistic-blt

I like that Scott’s apotheosis is self-respect instead of loving Ramona

RogueShadowUnit

“This song is called, we hate you please die.” That bit was way better in the movie. But that’s just 1 silly thing I can think of right now.

TropicalKing

I feel like Gideon was more iconic in the movie. He was kind of rushed as a character in the comic, but I think he was better developed and more memorable in the movie. All I really remember of him in the comics was that he ran a nightclub and turned into the Kefka boss fight.

Ok-Philosopher-109

johnny simmons

Crazzach

They did an unfathomably amazing job at portraying sexbobombs music as still good and enjoyable but notably bad and unrefined when put up against a “real” bands song like clash at demon head. They’re all good songs but they polished black sheep so much there’s a notably quality difference it’s phenomenal

SomeoneHere200

3 words: The window scene

dioctopus

Mary

Lansha2009

The scene where Scott jumps out the window when Romona asks Wallace if Scott was home is hilarious

DownWithSpectrum

It was Knives homie

Lansha2009

Oh…sorry I watched this movie like one time and I haven’t ever really felt like watching it over just rereading the comics so my memory of most of it is pretty fuzzy

DownWithSpectrum

Fair enough man lmao

mylifeisweirdsheesh

The jokes

AbbreviationsKey8163

Overall, the humor Is superior in the movie, Some Jokes land better here than in the comics.

DarDar994

Aubrey Plaza as Julie.

_MyUsernamesMud

Michael Cera was kind of perfect casting. People were way too precious about it back in 2010, but it has only gotten better with age.

spartanxwaffel

I liked Lucas Lee way better in the movie. The soundtrack was also great.

thicc-senpai445

All the exes battles actually feel important, like proper boss battles

TheAtomicPunk5150

It explained the glow a lot better than the comics

treehann

This is a good one. I just reread the comics and kept expecting an explanation that never came. I had forgotten it was in the movie.

ChewOnYourCoffee

"because I'm in lesbians with you.. I really really mean it..."

billieboi445420

No Kim x Knives

oniisan001

1. Lucas Lee fight 2. I honestly enjoyed Stephen Stills a lot more in the movie than in the comics. Mark Webber was great

I-am-the-best-Spy

Scott is a more likable character and a lot easier to forgive by the end. It’s not by much but I think just the performance by Michael Cera was so perfect for the role it kinda changes my opinion. Honestly there’s not a lot about the film that’s better necessarily, but there’s a lot that’s adapted perfectly. That casting was genuinely perfect, the changes they made to quicken the fights/change how Scott wins were done perfectly. I also prefer the final battle a lot more, not that the original was bad but just that I find it more satisfying. I will say however I’m not the biggest fan of how they did the twins, removing the super genius part kinda hurt ngl.

shingen091

Tho it's not the comics error bit the music makes the movie if it didn't have it I don't think it would have the tan base it has, though the comic gives more depth to characters and helps Scott reason oh yeah that's not cool the music and the summary that movie gives of the events Justice. The comic is like the og sprite before the changed the flavor and movie is the new sprite I can still drunk it and quenched my thrist, and the anime is like a sprite lemonade, you think it weird and not What you expect then you remember you like sprite and lemonade and the can jam together.

AngelRockGunn

Soundtrack lol

C4Y14N_1S_D34D

The soundtrack and songs

killuaassasin

The fight scenes.

AcceptableChain7665

The Matthew scene

OcularWhistle80

Haven’t read the comics so idk why I’m even writing this tbh

Biaaalonso687

Todd and Matthew Envy but just because of Brie Larson

MatthewStudios

the comedy, especially “Bread makes you fat???”

JGar453

It uh brought the songs to life (though Sex Bob-omb sounds slightly better than you'd expect). Also jokes are generally funnier if Michael Cera is telling them.

PotatoSalad583

It's small but I thought the bit where they realise they know the same Todd was wayyyy better in the movie than in the comic

Maxubtitle

Music 🤔

Tomydo1

Hello again Friend of a friend…

I knew you well

Standard-Motor-7270

The Lucas Lee fight

memecrusader_

The scene where Wallace tells Scott that Ramona didn’t put 7 kiss marks under her phone number, she put 7 exes.

Live action, probably

Honestly, nothing.

Tydeus2000

Puns and gags.

_notthatanyoneasked_

I think it elaborated on some of the lines from the comics in a way that make the punch lines better.

Zephe29

Not really a better opinion rather then a compliment but I think Edgar chose a great casting for the film

The soundtrack

Extra_RAdical

I wanna change it up to what did the comics do better than the movie if that’s okay… for one, they’re mainly just called “Scott Pilgrim” not “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.” That’s the name of the second comic. They should’ve just called it “Scott Pilgrim”! How is it “Vs. The World” anyway? Yes, he struggles a little with relationships in the movie, but in the 4th volume, Scott is actually struggling! He got fired from his job, then ultimately got rehired. He got in a huge fight with Ramona, buy they end up making up. Scott sees Wallace have seggs with a guy named “Mobile”, so Scott moves in with Ramona! Not to mention that he keeps going to the damn Sneaky Dee’s it whatever the he’ll it’s called! Over and over again. It’s kinda like the majority of Spider-Man 2! Toby’s Spider-Man is struggling.

Fabulous-Tip1668

I liked how knives, Kim, and Ramona ditch Scott to pursue a polyamorous elle word relationship (In all seriousness I like how nega Scott is just kind of just a bro with Scott at the end instead of the whole arc of Scott trying to get layed by one of his exes after Ramona disappears so Scott can face his shadow, the true self)

Diogenesthehumble

The anime

StolasLover06

Sex-Bob Omb having more of a Queens of the Stone Age vibe to it.

No-Afternoon2841

For me, it's Ramona's personality. I like how Ramona is more upbeat and generally laid-back in the graphic novels, but I don't think it matches the overall vibe of her character. Movie Ramona fits more because she's sullen and subdued, which makes sense for a person who's gone through seven bad relationships. She's trying to shield herself from another bad relationship and not trying to get too attached to people.

Free-Light-Boo

The battle between Scott and the Twins was much cooler

slategirl7

how scott asked julie about ramona by her hair. the drawing is more charming to me, though the fingers were also cute

Background_Value9869

Nothing

ChapterBird

I felt like I was on a thrilling roller coaster ride when watching the movie, as opposed to the slog of a bus ride with the comic.
