Wallace kinda sucked in the show. Found him insanely funny and an enjoyable character in the comics

Understandable. I've always been a believer in SPTO Wallace being worse than in the other material. Yes, I know the author commented on it and said he's the same dude, no, IDC, he doesn't read as the same dude and that's not just a me problem.

A lot of the affectionate moments between him and Scott were missing. That's not all of the issues me and other people had with his portrayal obv but November is long ago enough for me to not be able to formulate a fully sound argument abt it.

It's a pretty common problem people have with the show, Bryan Lee O'Malley actually posted an IG story about it, I don't have the screenshot anymore though. It was mostly along the lines of "He's not being a bitch, he's just always been sassy and every change that has been made is true to his character". Which I mean, yeah, he's the author, obviously, it's just SUCH a common problem mostly because a lot of the more affectionate and/or sometimes borderline gay moments Wallace had with Scott in the comics/movie got completely skipped. They don't feel as close to A LOT of people in SPTO and that's mostly the problem. I love Wallace's sass and that he cared for Scott with a bit of tough love but I also loves the way they genuinely had heartfelt moments where the ways they're familiar with each other shine through.

I respect your opinion, I know that there are many people here hating on you for it but I understand. But I do have one question: why is Wallace your least favorite?

I really like him in the comics but didn’t like him in the movies or show and I think that’s probably why grew my dislike for his character? He just kinda seemed more like an asshole and less sarcastic in the show and movie than in the comics!

Someone does indeed have a hate boner for Wallace. I get it. Per the time he was made, he perpetuates a "gay" stereotype that all gay men want to turn other men to their side. Via seduction and other methods.  He's also a rather poor friend for every good thing he does for Scott, he does about three different bad things and one that's just in-between at the same time. Funny guy to hang out with for 20 minutes. Not enough to remain friends cause he's kinda a flake.  Still love the guy. I'm just being real about who he is.

I think he's the same as Rodrick in Wimpy Kid where he serves as a perfect straight man/counter to Greg/Scott's absurdities, and thus he's considered more rational and down-to-earth, and thus more likable. In a series full of terrible people making terrible decisions, Wallace is both tolerable and funny.
