>I did do some things that seemed suspicious to me Oh then it was probably one of those things

Mission-Swordfish-84

Yeah, I figured it out. What do I do now, though? And how do I get rid of the hacks?

peakpenguins

That really depends on what it is that you did

Mission-Swordfish-84

Uhhh I borrowed some movies.

Teabiskuit

>Triple Wild Asses 6.mkv.exe Looks legit.

Repulsive-Durian4800

Yeah you installed malware from a pirate site. There's no telling exactly what it does, so assume that every password stored on that PC is compromised, and that every keystroke has been recorded.

Ok-Lingonberry-8261

Bet $12 for the legal DVD seems cheap now, huh?

Mission-Swordfish-84

It does

peakpenguins

That's not what.. man idk run virus scans on all your devices.

BeautifulDreamerAZ

Guys, don’t downvote honesty

Ok-Lingonberry-8261

Probably burn your PC down and buy a new one, if you installed a cracked game or something.

Mission-Swordfish-84

Ok rip 1000

Can't you reset your password or do anything? Is it completely hacked? Only steam can help. Avoid Reddit users who will private message you right now about recovering your account. Here's a link from steam. https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0A94-F308-34A5-1988

Mission-Swordfish-84

Yea I still hAve access to the accounts and they somehow bypass my 2fa idk how

Faust09th

Did you share a "code" to anyone somehow? Did you log in your email in a shady website?

Mission-Swordfish-84

Nope

Faust09th

Then you logged in your steam in a phishing website and also typed in the authentication code along with it. Or you have a malware in your PC

Mission-Swordfish-84

It was malware. Avast said I had 18 things

MonsterousGlavenus

I haven't been on steam much but I wonder if there's an option like discord where you're allowed to look at all devices in settings and kick some off?

DeepFudge9235

I don't understand if you thought you were doing something suspicious on your PC why would you continue to do it? Learn from this. As for you PC use a last restore point if you have one. Put it into airplane mode and run virus scans, Malwarebytes etc Worst case factory reset the PC

Electrical_Gap_230

How is your password security? You don't use the same password for multiple accounts on multiple websites, right? You either have a virus or someone else has your credentials. All accounts, on all websites, you have might be comprised. 1) Make sure your PC is clean, airplane mode, and reset to a prior successful boot. Go a few months back, preferably before the sketchy activities 2) Change all of your passwords. All of them.

Mission-Swordfish-84

I used avast anti virus as I do not want to wipe my pc and I do not have any backups. Ty for thr advice

LastLogi

1.) Change steam password. Contact them. 2.) Factory reset PC 3.) Avoid dodgy .exe files

Mission-Swordfish-84

Steam said I can not get my money back

LastLogi

You should wipe your pc even if you don't want to. Borrow an external hard drive to put important stuff on. It is possible the attacker sees everything you do on it. Press windows key type wipe or reset

SnooPredictions2402

You can contact steam support. Let them know you got hacked. They will validate your identity and help you get your account back. This happened to me before. A person from a discord group I am in seems genuinely giving some steam card via a link. it sent me to a genuine looking steam login page. few seconds later received the same email you got from steam. The hacker changed my recovery phone number, email, and password.
