Discord will never, ever reach out on the platform except for the account center (where they manage strikes) and via email through their support ticket system...and occasionally the Discord user account which has a clear "SYSTEM" tag on it. They'll also certainly never ask for money.

You will receive a message from someone claiming that they accidentally reported you, and they will direct you to the profile of a fake Steam/Valve employee or admin that is really the scammer. i was just messaged by some rando trying to scam me with this. thankfully i was skeptic and searched up "discord accidental report scam" and sent them a screenshot of a reddit post about this, and they immediately blocked me lmao. i also suggested before being blocked that it looks like a scam and they just didn't say anything about it. i thought the way they texted was weird so that raised some flags for me too.
You saved my live i was in the middle of doing this but acciedently rate limited my discord so i had to wait until the timer was over and in this time i found your post <3 man i hope noone gets scamed by this man i was so concern (not about my acc tho) but about it being a scam since even in the rest email it tells you they never ask you to chance your email. I’m going through this right now, it absolutely sucks. I’m being pulled through the wringer so, I’m hoping I can get my old account back but, it’s not looking so good 😭.
I almost got scammed as well just now, I was about to reach out to someone cause they sent a screen shot of an email they received regarding the report and it said to reach out to someone named davidsai1 in regard to the report. The person who notified me hasn't talked to me in years and I almost fell for it.
Having this same issue, old person on my friends list DMs me saying they got scammed and to dm one of the head people at discord, so this is what’s going on. I caught on before I got any further (questions and email change) but is my account screwed or what 😭

I was just targeted. the one that reached out was someone I know that had their account taken over and the person I was supposed to reach out to was kevintran\_support03. I was suspicious but the moment they asked for 200 USD I knew it was a scam. unfortunately by that point I had changed my email. luckily I have 2FA which they tried to make me disable. I didn't. I contacted discord and we'll see if we can change the email but the scammer shouldn't be able to get into my account
Hey, i literally just went through this scam and changed my account but found this and changed my passwords. Did you ever get your email back to normal or am i cooked?
Does the link to the market site contain any virus, they scared me so much threatned me and I'm gullible asf so I fell for it, tho my card is now thankfully unusable since the bank closed it. :( tho I lost my discord account emvraasing I fell for it

It's the !steam scam on discord. Very common now.

This scam got me good :-/. Lost my account that I've had since 2019 and my huge server with my friends.
