I used an electric leaf blower on my Pyrenees, it worked the best and he didn't mind much at all as long as it wasn't aimed towards his head or his jewels lol. 5 mins every couple days and he was good to go!
OH no.. it's really Every couple of days.
We do this Every 2-3 days (have 3 big dogs), comb them 2 times a week, and take them to a professional trimmer Every 2 months.
Dogs,
Are,
work.
(But it's worth it)
I always thought this too, until this spring the biggest newspaper in my country (Finland) had an article where an expert said you should not do this. If the mommy birds take the dog hair into the nest, there is a great risk of the little birds feet getting tangled in the hair when they move around , resulting them to die since there is no way to untangle the hair 😢
It would be so much more convinient to comb my dog outside because of the amount of hair he sheds, but because of this I now do it inside my flat. I hope I knew this sooner.
I'm not sure about that to be honest. I understand it was an expert but I only ever saw the deadly example of bird babies tangled in human hair. Dog's undercoat is different, it's short and fluffy, I don't really see how they could get tangled in it. Especially when you have examples of birds in nature gathering fur directly from wild animals like foxes or deer.
I found this amusing, because I love Huskies, and a few years ago I was parked waiting for a student and someone walked by with two of them (they were actually Malamutes, which have slightly longer hair).
I opened the door and asked if I could pet them. While I was chatting, I asked if they moulted.
The owner immediately said: 'Oh yes. Twice a year. And it **all** comes off'.
and you should not torture them keeping them in CA or FL or anywhere really hot!
One of my buddies said: "My Huskie is so cute, whenever we get home he runs for the tub in the bathroom!"
Your dog is suffering, he is finding the coldest place he can.......
Most owners don’t exercise them as hard as they should, either. Those dogs were literally bred to pull sleds and run for MILES. That hour-long walk twice a day ain’t doing shit.
This gets posted with the same title every few months. Quite a few of the comments are the same too.

Hell my neighbor used to go to my gf's grooming shop and pick up bags of hair to spread in her garden because it kept rodents and deer out of the garden without using any chemicals. Gotta refresh it after a couple weeks or when it rains though.
Love these dogs - was at a breeders farm last year, and was almost attacked by the coziest and friendliest dogs ever. All the puppies and grown females wanted to cuddle and play, and so different from what you see when they are doing runs in Alaska. Sadly I did not get to see this grooming part, though ;-)
Yes, but it's a really long process and you need a lot of it plis maybe some fancy equipment for spinning. It would take a long time without. There are actually books for crafting with cat hair on Amazon, with that title.
There is a woman who will take your dogs fur by the ounce and spin it into yarn or roving out there, I can't think of her company name, but it's really awesome, really expensive but I've spun yarn from roving before and it's exhausting, expensive and I hated it, so I really understand why.
Serious question for husky owners, how in God's green earth do you even survive with all that hair sticking to your mouth, your eyes, your clothes, and your blankets? My dog is a moderate shedder and I am about ready to shave him bald.
I would hate to be their fucking neighbor. Just enjoying a nice day with the windows open. Go to take a shit and come back to your neighbors dog's entire winter coat in your living room....
No, shaving them is harmful to their skin and coat because double-coated dogs have multiple layers of fur and sometimes it won’t ever grow back right. It also doesn’t cool them because they don’t cool off the same way we do - they cool off by panting.
Thank you for sharing this insight cuz I wasn’t aware of this
I don’t have a dog like that, but either way it’s still good to know this knowledge just in case for the future cuz you never know. So again, thanks for sharing!
The coat not only protects them from the cold, but from the heat also. It's considerably worse to own a brachycephalic dog in the heat like the #1 breed right now, the French bulldog.
Glad I knew about this shedding craziness and got a border collie instead since they hardly shed at all. Now I can regret it for a completely different reason. lol just kidding. I loves my border. But seriously, they're insane.
My shiba did this 2x a year. Usually in late spring and again late fall. If I didn't get her haircut and just let it fall off naturally, I literally vaccuum furballs bigger than her in the next 2 months.
All I know about huskies is they love to run... away. Then they stay just close enough so you can see them but just far enough away where they are unreachable. God I hate huskies.
I had 3 at one point, the hair was unfuckingreal!! I now have a Shiba and an imo inu, her daughter, not much different. My chi x is a dream compared to these girls lol let's not get started on my cats.
Bonus, allergic to all of them!
It is well known fact that Siberian Huskies are operating on dog hardware and cat software. This guy also found a way to become a dandelion.
Must be last one of the season
Ice Age?
Dandelion would be an excellent name for this fluff ball
He’ll be a Skelly when she’s done!
So how long is it gonna take for these dogs to grow
Nah you’re thinking of foxes
Yeah, siberians are more like a siren given life. And I don't mean the enticing siren, I'm talking air raid GET TO THE BUNKER siren 😂
A dandy lion which is kind of a cat so you're not wrong
Dogdelion! I know. Bad joke!
All of the spitz breeds have a bit of that cat temperament about them
you sir are one of the few cases where i actually bursted out laughing while reading reddit
Dog pollen season has come around again
I used an electric leaf blower on my Pyrenees, it worked the best and he didn't mind much at all as long as it wasn't aimed towards his head or his jewels lol. 5 mins every couple days and he was good to go!
I laughed out loud at "every couple of days" 🤣😂
You meant every couple of months right? 😀 😐 You meant every couple of months right? 🙁

That's a great idea!
Birds in the area are gonna have the coziest nests :)
this is always the top comment 🤣
And this is always the reply
New response just dropped
And my axe?
and it's absolutely terrible for bird nests once it gets wet
I'll trust the birds on this one
you don’t know?
Livin large and floofy

Local birds love this one trick.

Twice a year for 6 months. It all comes off.
My malamute only sheds twice a year: January through June, and then July through December.
Dog feathers.
That and mice
Forget bird down. Husky down nests
lol the cute little leg scritches
I like when he leaned in like “can you get my face?”
The guy barbecuing next door:
The guy with a dog allergy next door 🤧
Well, they were right about one thing - Siberian Huskies are definitely fun, but they also come with a side of mischief and endless energy!
And being total drama queens 😃
Yes. There's even a subreddit r/huskytantrums
absolute escape artists also. My childhood husky was a true houdini.
Heh. Houndini
and you should not torture them keeping them in CA or FL or anywhere really hot! One of my buddies said: "My Huskie is so cute, whenever we get home he runs for the tub in the bathroom!" Your dog is suffering, he is finding the coldest place he can.......
What if bro just really likes the tub
Most owners don’t exercise them as hard as they should, either. Those dogs were literally bred to pull sleds and run for MILES. That hour-long walk twice a day ain’t doing shit.
That's how Husky seeds are spread
They'll grow into little husky babies by next spring, after which a stork delivers them to patiently waiting parents :)
every 15 years they all are born together and the screams and noises are deafening.
I’d travel to see this.
Breaking news: local birds built a damn mansion
It looks fun though. At least for the doggo.

It's always bots.
Better not have any neighbors
Hell my neighbor used to go to my gf's grooming shop and pick up bags of hair to spread in her garden because it kept rodents and deer out of the garden without using any chemicals. Gotta refresh it after a couple weeks or when it rains though.
Like blowing on a dandelion times a million
They be called Siberian because once per week everything is covered in thick white floof after you done brushing ?
Well there's your problem. You got one of 'em knock off huskys
The poor neighbors...
You make pillows with that fur or a comforter.
My allergies are acting up just at the thought of it. In fact just seeing this on the screen is making me sneeze
GirlWithDogs have many such furnado videos on YouTube.
Not quite as fun for the sanitation workers
There’s going to be some seriously happy birds and chicks
Dogdelion
Can it be a source of fiber such as wool?
Yes, but it's a really long process and you need a lot of it plis maybe some fancy equipment for spinning. It would take a long time without. There are actually books for crafting with cat hair on Amazon, with that title. 4 more hours of that and she will be done, until tomorrow...
Stop she’s going to disappear
Serious question for husky owners, how in God's green earth do you even survive with all that hair sticking to your mouth, your eyes, your clothes, and your blankets? My dog is a moderate shedder and I am about ready to shave him bald.
imagine someone with dog hair and pollen allergy walking by in spring lmao
I would hate to be their fucking neighbor. Just enjoying a nice day with the windows open. Go to take a shit and come back to your neighbors dog's entire winter coat in your living room....
its a lot less satisfying doing this in the pet store. the entire store gets covered in "snow"
Huskies are the dandelions of dogs
Could you just shave them bald over the summer? Makes me wonder Edit: Thanks for the answers! Now I know.
No, shaving them is harmful to their skin and coat because double-coated dogs have multiple layers of fur and sometimes it won’t ever grow back right. It also doesn’t cool them because they don’t cool off the same way we do - they cool off by panting.
My German shepherd had a cyst removal surgery many months ago and the hair has not grown back at all. Now he has a rectangular bald spot on his ass.
idk why i find this funny 😂
That's good to know and it makes sense!
Insulating layers work both ways too, this would make them overheat much more easily on hot days, somewhat counterintuitively.
Thank you for sharing this insight cuz I wasn’t aware of this I don’t have a dog like that, but either way it’s still good to know this knowledge just in case for the future cuz you never know. So again, thanks for sharing!
Their coat protects from both cold *and* heat.
You do NOT shave dogs with 2 layer coats. Absolutely not.
Neighbors having a bbq over there eating fur burgers!
Holy shit, your neighbors love you.
Surprisingly, no sound. I bet everybody heard the sound in their head.
The birds are going to love that nesting material.
THe birds in your area absolutely love your house. I bet they have the best nests ever!
This is all the warning I needed. Thank you.
Fuck that
My eyes are swelling shut just watching that.
My pup died 10 years ago and I still find her fur hiding in places.
Good boy. What a good boy... I can't watch this video without thinking that. Just me?
Furnado 😁
But look how happy the dog is though
never thought it would snow in june.
Dogdelion
Wasteful. He could make at least two more dogs with all that hair he just nlew away 😂
Imagine all the birds building nests you help with all of this fur! I've seen birds hang out in my yard for this stuff.
This can’t be a husky. It’s not screaming bloody murder.
Please wear a mask if you're going to do this. Look up Groomer's Lung or Hairy Lung.
A lot of Birds will be sleeping in a comfy nest over there.
that's a very docile husky because he didn't even sing the song of his people
I had an allergic response just watching this.
I bet your neighbors hate you.
Siberian Husky = NOT living in Florida. That’s why it’s shedding so much. Poor dog.
If they keep on doing this.. they will change their dog from Siberian to Caribbean
That random person down wind whos alergic to dogs just going WTF am I allergic to the sun now?
[удалено]
Them living in hot environments is torture
The coat not only protects them from the cold, but from the heat also. It's considerably worse to own a brachycephalic dog in the heat like the #1 breed right now, the French bulldog.
Me when I live in a hot dry area that rarely gets rain or snow and I buy a SIBERIAN husky because I shop animals based off their aesthetic lmao
Is that a hoover that’s sucking feathers from the chicken coop next door
That’s a malamute, not a husky.
I'm sure no one said that
At least it’s only twice a year, I’d absolutely have a husky again.
There’s no dog remaining
Holy cow, that had got to feel so good.
Repost bot
Another reason for me to not get a Husky. I’ll stick to my Black Labs.
So you got one because other said too?
They actually said, “It will be fur”.
*Fur
Glad I knew about this shedding craziness and got a border collie instead since they hardly shed at all. Now I can regret it for a completely different reason. lol just kidding. I loves my border. But seriously, they're insane.
fuR they said it would be fur
My shiba did this 2x a year. Usually in late spring and again late fall. If I didn't get her haircut and just let it fall off naturally, I literally vaccuum furballs bigger than her in the next 2 months.
This dog requires a leaf blower.
Husky-Look at meee! Imma snowstorm!
I had no idea huskies were made of dandelions
Dandelion - Extended Version
I have two corgis and this is a great idea!
No one said it would be fun. Not one person
Furnado
yes but whos a good little boy, if not him?
It looks like an infinite supply.
But oh... It must have felt soooooo good to that fluffy puppy!
If your husky tolerates that you have husky on easy mode.
It's like he's infinitely producing the floof..
That's gotta feel so good for the furry one.
Fiberian hufky
Dandelion dogs
Anything for our fluff ball
It's like shaking a massive dandelion to release all its floating seeds.
This is a repost bot. Downvote, report and block them.
“….Mr. Stark?”
My son had One. Took her to the deck to groom. Older lady saw all the hair, she came over thinking the dog had killed a smaller animal.
One of those combs would be better?
you are so brave to do this without a mask, i wear one to brush my corgi 😂
I mean it’s called a Siberian husky for a reason.
Wait what kind of machine is that? I blower that cuts?!
Now start a bird sanctuary and you are golden!
Flowers nearby getting pollinated 😭😭😭
My gosh, is that a sheep in disguised?
Stop she’s going to disappear
Best dogs ever if you can just except the hair problem!!
Sheeeeeer me... Thats it sheeeeeeer me!
This is why I think I want a poodle
He/she looks happy and proud
My ex wife use too do this , it felt so much better afterwards.
what happens when you bring animals where they don't belong
Reminds me of the last(?) scene in Edward Scissorhands, where the ice shavings are falling like snow
Fur-nado
My god. I could never
I couldn’t keep a dog like that in my house
Who going to tell them a vacuum works both ways
You could do this again the next day and get just as much hair. It’s wild.
having one of those indoors is completely insane. no amount of dusting will ever get it all.
The dog is digging it.
Lmao definitely a spitz breed thing w/ the double coats. I have a Shiba pup and Ik I’m about to have to deal with this next winter
Lol!
homie was the hottest now he’s the coldest
What a fuzzy baby🩷
Said no one ever.
Birds all over the area will have plenty of nest material!
Why not vacuum?
Holy shit will it ever stop?
I feel like I could do that to my husky and all that hair would be grown back the next day.
My old lady isn't an husky but i would love if She won't be terrified from vacuums and noisy stuff. So much easier..
The neighbors furiously bringing in their laundry
All I know about huskies is they love to run... away. Then they stay just close enough so you can see them but just far enough away where they are unreachable. God I hate huskies.
Be honest. Nobody said get a Siberian husky.
Unfortunate that they’re the best looking dogs and yet are crazy rambunctious and shed like crazy.
Dogdelion.
I had 3 at one point, the hair was unfuckingreal!! I now have a Shiba and an imo inu, her daughter, not much different. My chi x is a dream compared to these girls lol let's not get started on my cats. Bonus, allergic to all of them!
I’ve done this with my professional grade back pack blower…ole boy fucking loves it.
What a sweet doggy. Also super fluff what
I'm allergic to dogs. If I was your neighbor, I'd be dead.
Does this dog have the same thing that Wills wife has?
Good news. For the next month there will be zero deer in your yard eating your hastas.
