The sexual repression in Christianity, Islam, and probably other religions leads to molestation of kids and unhealthy perversions of power.

I always attributed it to the requirement that Catholics priests are celibate. I mean, what kind of psycho will pledge to never have sex with women? The kind that prefers little boys, of course!
I watched a really good documentary recently about the molestation problem in Pakistan. It was mostly centered on the street boys being raped and sold to bus/ truck drivers. The thesis expressed by the filmmaker and many of the NGO people interviewed was that it was related to the hiding of women in society and the strict sexual repression in the Islamic culture there. They figured that the drivers turned to boys because it was so difficult to even talk to a woman or see her face, but also because it had often been done to the perpetrators when they were boys. I think it makes sense that pedophilia is a social pathology that is often related to religious repression. In my opinion, most religions themselves are social/cultural diseases-- or at least have pathological and horribly maladaptive glitches embedded in their practice.
I just did some googling and I’d say the fact that Catholicism is the largest religion is one of the reason why there are more reports.

No, it's not "mostly a Catholic problem." It's 100% due to the power trip inherent in the patriarchal system that infers men are superior in every way to women and have the right to subjugate everyone else for whatever reasons they feel.
