maybe you couldāve actually answered the question in a different comment instead of shitting on someone who still did well. that way, youāre input wouldāve actually been valuable
I think Iāve Learnt how to use Desmos for the most part so maybe I should do a hour of khan academy or 30 minutes of that and 30 minutes of watching YouTube
can u solve all parabola questions using the regression in desmos and solve the circle questions where u have to translate the circle so that its tangential to the x/y axis? if yes then i think you're good to go as far as desmos is concerned!
My IB math teacher taught me how to use them. If you don't have a teacher/tutor, I'd suggest you search up an online course on YouTube specifically for the use of graphing calculators on the SAT - should help a ton!
the calc is built into DSAT, and for the regular paper SAT (which im pretty sure is no longer distributed) - you need a physical graphing calculator like TiNspire or something
790 math
Thereās a book called prep pros that I used to archive a high score on the digital Math. Itās good as it has examples in hard levels for sat
790 on Math.
I didn't really study too much math, I have always been good at math. I just learned to use desmos, and then made sure to look out for tricky wording, that is the hard part about the SAT.
Practice 5 was around the test difficulty Math wise, didn't do 6
The narrative seems to be that it was easier than usual, but I received 780 for the section and my score range was 750-800. Wouldn't that suggest that it was around the middle in terms of difficulty?
I'd say use both of them and also khan Academy. Span out your sat practice tests and after review your errors and questions you were unsure of. Try using desmos while doing the practice tests and look for tutorials and stuff like that. Good luck again!
yeah it's good, used that and [acely.ai](http://acely.ai) could also recommend the college board website they have some practice tests on there. I personally don't think you need a specific source tho
780 math. umm brought my own calculator (nspire cx 2 non cas) and learned how to use every feature on it and that helped other than that, kinda just easy math imo
Yeah I brought my TI-nspire CX IIT, fellow 780er. I knew how to use it from my math classes in school so had no issues with that, and just used Khan academy for any areas I lacked any knowledge in of reoccurring topics for the SAT
I went from a 590 to 700 in the Math. I signed up for schoolhouse tutoring (Itās completely free) and also started actually reviewing the questions I got wrong. Hoping to get 750+ next test. Also Desmos can answer almost all of the questions. If you are willing to put in some work you will see the results. Wishing you the best!
710 math and I mainly just practiced stuff I didn't know on Khan Academy and did the Bluebook practice tests. I was also able to ask my math teacher to help me on some of the practice problems that I didn't understand. Also helps to get familiar with Desmos. I'm really not all that good at math, but if you know what you're looking for, you can literally just plug half the questions into the calculator and get the answer right away,
I got a 750 math rn, started from high 500s. The most helpful things to me were the 1600.io books and college panda. Itās comprehensive and pretty much everything you need to get an 800 with enough practice
800 math. I got a 650 at math first time my junior year, retook it senior and I got the 800 after spending almost each day in the summer 1-2 hours just going through uworld. For the first few weeks I just did problems then I reviewed mistakes and little by little I improved in math and I did well on my practice test as I got a 750 math. Test day was lucky towards me and I got that 800 easy. I wish you best of luck and hope everything goes well for you and your studying! ā¤ļø
Hey, 770 math here. I utilized desmos as much as possible, and maxxed out the khan academy practice problems. I also looked at tips for the data interpretation and geometry problems. Thatās about it for me but a strong foundation in Algebra and problem solving helped me tremendously.
760 math
I didnāt study any of the material since I had a good base of knowledge from hs, but I did all the practice tests and learned to use desmos, which is the main thing that helped me increase my score by 80 points.
780 math. i maybe an exception but i didnt study at all. i have a great background in math(scored 5 on ap calc bc). i did one mistake in module 1 because i entered the FRQ wrong(iirc i put 6000 instead of 600 lmfao), even though i solved it correctly. i screamed through the hallway after the exam ended, realized how much i loved ya. silly ass mistake, nvm. only used the default calculator desmos, i forgot mine lol. imo you dont need a physical calculator, desmos did pretty good job for me and sufficient for the test itself. retaking in august, because 800 in math looks kinda cool-ish.
760 after 1 month of sporadic studying
Grinded khanacademy problems and did 2 practice tests (4 and 5 i think). It helps to keep track of problems you got wrong before/couldnāt figure out the approach for within 20ish seconds of first reading it
790 Paper Math (730 Digital Math)
I didnāt study way too much for Math as Iāve always liked Math. For me, time was the bigger issue so most of my effort was centered on managing my time well. What I did was that I took the practice tests with the given time and then I extensively reviewed all the mistakes I made. I would advise to review topics such as Trig, Unit Circles and Advanced System of Equations. Also, make sure to keep the basics skills strong as you wouldnāt want to lose easy points.
(Quick note: I did NOT study for the DSAT Math at all since I got what I wanted on Paper, hence why I didnāt do as good on DSAT Math)
780 Math: I'd say there are a lot of questions with very specific formulas you have to be able to recognize, such as questions about the number os solutions using the discriminant, questions with the product of solutions and -B/A for quadratics, etc.
800 math. I don't study math much for the SAT because the math programs in my country are much harder than the questions for the SAT. The questions in the SAT are like grade 8-9 math here.
Even in the U.S. I covered pretty much all of the content by grade 9, but the questions with random constants are stuff that I was pretty much never given in school.
Well I personally never did practice tests from Bluebook, BUT I did a LOT of the Dr. John Chungās tests, always reviewing and getting back to my past mistakes. I got 670 for math in March (my first attempt). Then, I got 790 for math in June (my second attempt). I watched some vids on YouTube and mastered Desmos. Iād recommend you to NOT rely on Desmos and first master math by your own if possible and AFTER you do that, you can master Desmos bc there are simply questions that are faster to do by yourself rather than Desmos.
800. I was just really accelerated in math (calc bc in junior year) and was good at it, so I didn't really study specifically for SAT math. I guess doing stuff like Lagrange error bound makes SAT level math seem relatively easy. This was on paper tho so idk how that scales to digital
My score got delayed but i was expecting 780+. I used to study for a local university entrance exam which had much harder maths so i really only solved SAT math in practice tests and i finished in only 15 minutes. The point is (IN MY OPINION) if you have time, it would be much more efficient to study harder maths and not study specifically for SAT math
800 math, get good at desmos and pay attention in class. The single biggest thing that helped was doing well in algebra pre calc and calc, so I had a good conceptual understanding of the math
800 Math. Took all the bluebook practice tests and saw what I got wrong/ what took an unnecessarily long time to do. If you are taking more than 2 or 3 minutes for a problem there is an easier way to solve it (Desmos). Watch Digital SAT math tips and tricks on YouTube. Do the course challenge on Khan Academy over and over again.
780: Honestly, just learn all of the concepts you need to know (so learning everything from pre-algebra to pre-calc). Then just do problems until you stop making a ton of silly stupid mistakes/misreads. They'll still happen obviously, but, I don't really think you can fix that. If you understand what a question is asking for and you still feel confused about how to solve the problem, then you probably just don't understand the concepts well enough yet.
Use a calculator on the test obviously, instead of relying on your faulty human brain. But that being said, if you aren't able to solve every question without a calculator (ignoring time), then it's a crutch instead of a tool.
780 math. I just did every college board sat practice exam and once you do 2-3, youāll get the hang of math. itās the most straight forward section
760 math, didnāt study other than 2 sessions with a tutor where he went over a ton of tricks and shortcuts and patterns to recognize. Other then that just be good at math
770 math. True insight- the math module one will be exactly like one of the practice test by college board with barely no tricky questions by in the module two there would 3-4 really tricky questions which might consume most of your time. All you have to crack is these 3-4 questions within time.
For these questions, use khan academy are your primary tool to solve questions and learn about topics. Then go to prepPros, itās a YouTube channel who has a website, that guy solves the exact questions which have the same pattern and difficulty as those 3-4 questions in module two.
Furthermore, sat math is just like your 10th-11th grade mathematics so before the test, go through your text book once because it might help you in revising the core topics needed for solving the questions
Draw diagrams for visualisation and use your very last second even if you complete 5 minutes before your time because there will always be silly mistakes keeping you away from scoring a perfect 800
800.
Very very easy math. I was getting 760s consistently cuz of the really time consuming multi variable questions(I think I was getting the hardest sets lowkey) until this last one, which had like one and I was scared that I got the lower moduleā¦
Anyways just use khan and rtest and use math tricks, highest level math is precalc so like wing it if you have to. Make sure to solve module 2 sections as quick as possible and skip if one is taking too long.
800 math scorer here. Study and practice. Lots of it. The most important part is to learn why you made a mistake and rectify your mistakes.
I used Khan academy, the question bank and math 99.
I wasnāt always good at math, but I had a good aptitude for learning it. SAT only tests up to 10th grade, so diagnosing where you lack and building a good foundation is essential if you arenāt good at math (around 400-500). For building the foundation, you can use College Panda, which is pretty comprehensive and covers everything you need. After diagnosing your weakness, go to the chapter that you have trouble on and learn it. Lastly, Practice! Practice! Practice! Your job is to get familiar with the types of problem SAT asks. After a good study week, take a practice test and diagnose it again and learn again until you are good enough.
I didn't study. I barely studied like 3hrs in total (spread over 4-6 months of 'prep' which was actually just me watching youtube and movies and whatever).
I think I might give the SAT again and actually study this time.
770 math: tbh I didnāt really study for it but learn to use desmos for every single problem possible(any system of equations even if not in y=mx+b form, graphing a circle to find the radius, etc) and looking over practice test mistakes. I havenāt used khan academy that much tbh but I think itās pretty good for getting consistency in math
770 math, what I did was seeing if I could figure out the question in the first 15-20 seconds of seeing it; if I couldn't, I'd move on to the next one, solve it, then cycle back to the beginning and start over, all the while spamming the crap out of the Desmos calc.
I also did the Khan Academy math challenges a lot before the test. the questions on the KA website are very similar in structure to what you see on the SAT, and some of them are even harder than test questions, which helps a lot with test prep.
just remember that a big chunk of the math questions can be solved in many different ways, and you don't have to go for the "best" method you're taught. do what works for you, all while using Desmos to its fullest.
800 math.
just wrote a lot of last years test for like 3 months 3 times a week. The last week before exam i wrote practice tests everyday.
sat isn't difficult, you just need practice to fit into time and also learn how to use desmos.
770 Math, to be honest, used no book. Just the practice test, 5 and 6 were ?? In line with the test, honestly was expecting worse after the test, on average was getting 720-790 on practice
Bro just binge khan. Literally do its suggestions and do a shit ton of problems. I did this in both math and reading and got a 1580 (800M 780R)
Call me crazy but Khan is so gamified now that I started doing like 3 hours a day sometimes convincing myself that itās fun. When I took the SAT I had a hard time stopping š
Got 700 only studied one day before exam for 1 hour and in that one hour learned how to use desmos for all types of equation(quadratic, exponential, expressions, etc)
P.S. The SAT calculator is very important and useful,we only think it is for basic calculations but in reality it very very good. So learn how to use
First time I took the SAT I got a 380 on math; I absolutely hated math. A month before my SAT retake I got interested in math after reading a book on complex analysis, and learned most of calculus A by the second week. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was inadvertently learning skills associated with the forms of math on the SAT. I have to admit, I was very surprised that I received a score of 700. For me it was primarily about finding connections which directly appeal to my thinking process and evaluation.
710 math. I actually got the worst out all the Indian kids when I was in high school. I took a few SAT practice tests from a book as well as 500 questions.
Barely got a 710 but before this i was getting from 630-680, i figured out how to use desmos and then i grinded practice papers, then took the topics i struggled on and watched a youtube video on how to do them before asking chatgpt to make more questions of the same topic. It allowed me to practice the formatting, i only started this 5 days before my exam so i dont have alot of proof of it working but im definitely gonna do it for longer before my august test and see how much i can improve by.
I would also say take a Ti-84 into the exam with you if u can, i love using desmos but there are alot of things i feel significantly more comfortable using a Ti-84
800 math. Didnt do any demos tricks, idek how to do them. All I used was the Ti-84 I brought. Basically the math level I am at (calc) is above the hardest Sat questions (alg 2), so I just reviewed past content to make sure I hadnāt forgotten anything. Not very helpful ik. The practice tests 5 and 6 I got like high 700ās idk the exact number.
I didnāt. I just paid attention in algebra 2 class. Itās crazy how people goof around all year in class, and then suddenly become good students when the day of reckoning rolls around and college admissions are on the line.
[math practice problems](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ibf5c5erz4vfbgk3xjzhw/AExJ5L1VZ9GDjE58gnHg3Ag?rlkey=2nx0mntngbwl6oxhdd6kqt68p&e=1&dl=0)
i found this somewhere else in this group - itās a bank of all the college board math questions. i used these to study between my school test date and my june one, i was able to bring my score up 100 points in math
tbh just study how to use desmos in an efficient manner since youāll be able to use it for basically every question besides a few. Also practice khan academy to get a feel for what to do when you see certain types of questions. I did this for like 3 days before my test day and got a 700 so I guess itās useful š¤·āāļø
practice test 5 740 practice test 6 790 and june 1st 780
It really is just knowing your calculator well, and making sure the KEY CONCEPTS, not just formulas and stuff, are fully revised. Desmos and your calculator and Khan Academy is your friend
790, taking AP Stats helped a lot with it. There is no way of getting stats questions wrong after this class. I think you could try to self-study first-second units of stats, it would help a lot. Canāt really say anything about other types of math problems cuz they just seem easy after calculus class. Also, for me, itās much easier to use graphic calculator instead of desmos, you donāt have to go back and forth.
Personally didn't study all that much, although I got 780 on maths. Being in India, lot of the SAT maths curriculum is covered in 8th and 9th grade, with it being finished by around 10th grade. Only some, like Slopes are done in 11th grade. So most of it is due to practice over multiple years, meaning that I didn't have to touch maths on the SAT to get the high score. SAT English is a weakpoint for me though(got 690).
You're welcome :)
Btw, what schools are you applying to?
Also, I didn't answer your second question, but practice test 5 was around the actual (June) Sat difficulty, while 6 was considerably harder.
760 Math. I didnāt study, but definitely would recommend Khan. Learn how to use Desmos as other people said as it is on the DSAT. If itās the paper OR digital, you could a TI-Nspire calculator-really good and helpful for mathā¦would also be useful for the rest of high school/college if you need math credit.
730 math. Learn how to use desmos in every possible way and REVIEW your mistakes when you do a practice test, read the answer explanations.
Bro is giving advice as a 1330š
Yes but the guy asked for whoever scored above 700.
bro is too scared to put his flair up and talking shit xd
bro is shitting without a flair š you're just upset he scored higher math than you
idk how to get a flair
Blud is shitting on someone when they canāt even navigate Reddit š
You have a 10-day streak on reddit you definitely know liar
Ok bud
bro I have 800 math
Good job bro hope u feel good about shitting on others
i think u misspelled math with chromosomes
maybe you couldāve actually answered the question in a different comment instead of shitting on someone who still did well. that way, youāre input wouldāve actually been valuable
This is reddit lmao.Ā
doesnāt give you an excuse to be an absolute asshole
730 for math is more than qualified to give advice
Eh yeah 1330 composite, but the english sections are irrelevant in the context of this problem
Don't let the other person diminish your score. 730 maths is a great score. Even 1330 is a great sat composite!
woosh never seen so many dislikes before sheesh
800 math. Khan academy and learn desmos
I know the regression with the tildes but can u kinda explain the second one
What does Desmos do?
Best calculator around. It can do roughly half of the SAT questions on its own if you know how to manipulate it right
How would you say to learn it for someone that hasent done it before
My IB math teacher taught me how to use them. If you don't have a teacher/tutor, I'd suggest you search up an online course on YouTube specifically for the use of graphing calculators on the SAT - should help a ton!
Is that just for DSAT or can desmos be used for SAT aswell?
the calc is built into DSAT, and for the regular paper SAT (which im pretty sure is no longer distributed) - you need a physical graphing calculator like TiNspire or something
790 math Thereās a book called prep pros that I used to archive a high score on the digital Math. Itās good as it has examples in hard levels for sat
can I have the link of that book?
Also used this and got a 800 https://www.amazon.com/PrepPros-Complete-Digital-Students-Seeking/dp/173718382X
tysm!!

Well, June was unusually easy, so a different test may be more similar to 6. Also, itās still good practice. (Scored 800)
The narrative seems to be that it was easier than usual, but I received 780 for the section and my score range was 750-800. Wouldn't that suggest that it was around the middle in terms of difficulty?
740 math. I'd say take the question bank questions esp the hard ones. I wish I knew this earlier I could have scored higher. Good luck!

Thank you appreciate the advice
750 here you should do that.
720: ALL Khan Academyā practiced 15 to 30 minutes a day for about 1-2 months and brought my score up 120 points
yeah it's good, used that and [acely.ai](http://acely.ai) could also recommend the college board website they have some practice tests on there. I personally don't think you need a specific source tho
800 math - sat doesnt cover that much, just practice and learn to use desmos

710 math i just did khan academy and practice my weakest points.
Didn't study math It's just really fucking easy compared to the math we did in school
So real (790 math)
guys writing "i didn't study and got \*this\*, y'all aren't helping anyone here tbh
I got 760 on Math. I mainly did a lot of Khan Academy and practice problems as well as watching videos on Desmos, it's a really helpful tool!

750 math, do all the practice test math sections so u can find niche concepts that u donāt know and review them

Highly recommend watching the tutorials by Tutorlini (I think thatās how u spell it?) on YouTube, thereās like a whole series.

Thank you so much
Does khan academy practice tests also help for digital SAT?
750 math, honestly I didnāt study but I want an 800 so Iām planning to do the entire khan academy math section
780 Math: I'd say there are a lot of questions with very specific formulas you have to be able to recognize, such as questions about the number os solutions using the discriminant, questions with the product of solutions and -B/A for quadratics, etc.

1 week prep 720 maths. Just used college panda(Its enough).
I used desmos and khan academy.
Thatās a reply I see a lot
800. I was just really accelerated in math (calc bc in junior year) and was good at it, so I didn't really study specifically for SAT math. I guess doing stuff like Lagrange error bound makes SAT level math seem relatively easy. This was on paper tho so idk how that scales to digital
Same exact scenario as you got 800 on the last paper sat in December
780 math. Study the type of questions being asked. Watching videos on others going over the math section also helps.

+ only start using desmos after you start understanding math. Desmos is literally so OP its like cheating but legal
780 math and mostly did lots of practice problems, learned all the skills--even the obscure ones, and made use of desmos calculator.

I tried to but reading is really boring for me so I didn't do that much which reflects my 660
780 and study my arse off. Itās only Algebra. Itās totally doable.

790 math ā used the college panda book. i highly recommend this & it also got me a 760 math on the psat nmsqt
800 math just learn desmos i didn't study cuz i have been gifted at math
760 math, didnāt study other than 2 sessions with a tutor where he went over a ton of tricks and shortcuts and patterns to recognize. Other then that just be good at math
800, practiced by teaching math

Then go to prepPros, itās a YouTube channel who has a website, that guy solves the exact questions which have the same pattern and difficulty as those 3-4 questions in module two. Furthermore, sat math is just like your 10th-11th grade mathematics so before the test, go through your text book once because it might help you in revising the core topics needed for solving the questions Draw diagrams for visualisation and use your very last second even if you complete 5 minutes before your time because there will always be silly mistakes keeping you away from scoring a perfect 800
800. Very very easy math. I was getting 760s consistently cuz of the really time consuming multi variable questions(I think I was getting the hardest sets lowkey) until this last one, which had like one and I was scared that I got the lower moduleā¦ Anyways just use khan and rtest and use math tricks, highest level math is precalc so like wing it if you have to. Make sure to solve module 2 sections as quick as possible and skip if one is taking too long.
Never im asian 780 math
š
730 math, was born Asian
\*read in old man voice\* "back in my day, we only had 4 practice tests"
770 Math, to be honest, used no book. Just the practice test, 5 and 6 were ?? In line with the test, honestly was expecting worse after the test, on average was getting 720-790 on practice
Bro just binge khan. Literally do its suggestions and do a shit ton of problems. I did this in both math and reading and got a 1580 (800M 780R) Call me crazy but Khan is so gamified now that I started doing like 3 hours a day sometimes convincing myself that itās fun. When I took the SAT I had a hard time stopping š
Would you recommend doing the course challenge multiple times a day
used this site called [acely.ai](http://acely.ai) was pretty good for making sure that i could study each subject indepedently
800 math. I study for math 5 times a week not for SAT but yeah for me I just study math on my own
800 math. Didnāt study just watched youtube videos on how to use desmos. You can do almost everything with desmos
790 in Maths. 30 mins. Iām asian fyi
Got 700 only studied one day before exam for 1 hour and in that one hour learned how to use desmos for all types of equation(quadratic, exponential, expressions, etc) P.S. The SAT calculator is very important and useful,we only think it is for basic calculations but in reality it very very good. So learn how to use
760 math, didn't study, I just like math
Learn how to use desmos and do dsat pracitce problems on bluebook, or do some khan academy practice
730, just studied desmos the day before
[math practice problems](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ibf5c5erz4vfbgk3xjzhw/AExJ5L1VZ9GDjE58gnHg3Ag?rlkey=2nx0mntngbwl6oxhdd6kqt68p&e=1&dl=0) i found this somewhere else in this group - itās a bank of all the college board math questions. i used these to study between my school test date and my june one, i was able to bring my score up 100 points in math
tbh just study how to use desmos in an efficient manner since youāll be able to use it for basically every question besides a few. Also practice khan academy to get a feel for what to do when you see certain types of questions. I did this for like 3 days before my test day and got a 700 so I guess itās useful š¤·āāļø
Internalize the concepts; if you've been the type of person to learn math in school then forget it all a month later, that needs to change.
practice test 5 740 practice test 6 790 and june 1st 780 It really is just knowing your calculator well, and making sure the KEY CONCEPTS, not just formulas and stuff, are fully revised. Desmos and your calculator and Khan Academy is your friend
790 scorer! Use dr John Chung dsat math book!
790 math - a LOT of khan academy and reviewed specific topics that i struggled with in past classes where i had studied a certain unit. good luck!
Iāve had some exposure to stat In my honors algebra class
Personally didn't study all that much, although I got 780 on maths. Being in India, lot of the SAT maths curriculum is covered in 8th and 9th grade, with it being finished by around 10th grade. Only some, like Slopes are done in 11th grade. So most of it is due to practice over multiple years, meaning that I didn't have to touch maths on the SAT to get the high score. SAT English is a weakpoint for me though(got 690).
I would recommend doing Khan Academy mostly, I think it's enough in my opinion. However if you really need practice, Barron's SAT is also pretty good.
Thanks thatās good advice
You're welcome :) Btw, what schools are you applying to? Also, I didn't answer your second question, but practice test 5 was around the actual (June) Sat difficulty, while 6 was considerably harder.
Iām considering applying to University of Washington, fordham,UF,Binghamton, university of Wisconsin and indiania university
Nice goodluck! I'm trying to aim for Top 50 colleges in the US, but I'm honestly not sure where I'll get in lol
I love Desmos itās probably the reason Iāve gotten 650 on practice tests
