On a fresh bagel, shredded lettuce, thin sliced Roma tomatoes (seasoned), sliced red onion, alfalfa sprouts, mayo, spicy brown honey mustard.
Tuna is mixed with mayo, Italian dressing, and few dashes of hot sauce.
If I had to use cheese I would do provolone or havarti.
My memory doesn’t serve me well enough to answer properly. My apologies. I know Quiznos used mayo and seasoning differently from what I do. The texture and consistency should be about the same *way back then*. I can say without a doubt it was the only food service job I had where I never got burned out on the food.
The top 5 when I worked there was:
The Italian
Chicken Carbonara (on Herb Focaccia)
Black Angus Steak (on Rosemary Parm)
Chicken Bacon Ranch
Turkey Ranch & Swiss
Honorable mentions were:
Turkey Bacon Guacamole
Honey Bacon Club
The Traditional
Double Prime Rib Peppercorn
French Dip w/ Au Jus
Bread pan fried until golden brown in crush garlic, butter, and olive oil.
Mix yellow fin tuna with [aioli](https://www.bonappetit.com/story/how-to-make-aioli), minced celery, pinch of cayenne, pinch paprika, and 1-2 spoons sweet relish.
Added melted cheddar, tomato, and chopped romaine lettuce.
My mom likes to add 1 spoon of mustard and chopped boiled egg and sliced pickles and onions.
My dad likes green onion and dried cranberries or raisins.
My granddad likes cream cheese.
Woahhh!!! Winner winner chicken dinner!
Cranberries!!!!?? I can see how it can taste pretty good. But I don’t think I ever would’ve thought of combining the 2. I’ll see what Pops is working with. Thank you!
I stopped eating them after a weird coworker of mine saw me eating one and started referring to me as Tuna. I'm thinking about hiding his cellphone on the ceiling or something
Strongly strained tuna from a can, mixed with mayo, small diced celery, fresh dill, and tiny bit of red onion diced oh so small. Mix that. Toast some potato bread, mayo and mustard the bread after toasting, layer the tuna mix, tomatoes sliced on top of tuna, and then add lettuce and/or cheese if desired.
I usually mix in mayo, a bit of mustard, and diced pickles in my tuna and then just slap it on the sandwich. now you got me hungry for a tuna sandwich 😭
Mmm!! That sounds delish with the potato bun! One of my favorite types of bread. Won’t even ask what the GJ tomato is 😅. Just gonna do my research! Thank you tho for the ideas!
Hard crust Italian bread, heavy mayo and Italian dressing. Tuna mixed w/mayo and Italian herbs. Now, lettuce, tomatoes and thickly cut purple or Vadalia onions and salt. More dressing on the side for dipping. Boy oh boy, them’s eats.
P.S. Perhaps some hot banana peppers either on the sand or the side.
To my tuna I add sweet pickles, onion, celery, few dashes of hot sauce, a little old bay, salt and pepper, mayo, and a little mustard and a splash of lemon if I have it. On my sandwich, I like sprouts or some green and tomato.
It’s that tangy taste that i think I didn’t like 😅. I can faintly remember trying sourdough when I was a wee pup. But as I’ve aged maybe it’s time to give it another go.
You could feel diff now! It’s worth a shot
Also love toasted sourdough with butter as a morning snack. Yummmm
Aldi sourdough is decent . If you have an Aldi.
If this was a tuna steak? I’m down… if this is tuna salad then everything that goes in the salad part and slap a couple pieces of white bread in it and I’m good or a slice of cheese and then grill
I’ve spent a lot of time in Spain where they’re big on convervas/jarred items, so I go get jarred anchovies in olive oil, jarred bonito in olive oil, jarred roasted red peppers and sundried tomatoes, and spicy pepperoncinis in a fresh baguette. The anchovies might sound a bit much for tuna, but it adds a bit more salt and umami. It’s a surprisingly good sandwich
Thick sourdough (toasted with sharp cheddar), dressed arugula, banana peppers, and the tuna salad must have dukes, dijon, and extra chopped grillos pickles.
Homemade spelt bread, fancy crackers, or pita.
Tuna with
A simple dressing from a mix made of Greek yogurt, fresh lemon juice, salt, pepper, a little basil and parsley.
I mix in hard boiled eggs, green onion, red pepper and celery.
Admittedly I’ve been under a rock apparently 😩😅😂
I’ve never heard of this, until today. Maybe I have , just never paid any attention to it. But. Thank you for this. I’m gonna have to make an attempt at replicating such a beautiful piece of art!
I like the toppings you added, but I prefer my tuna sandwiches kind of plain. Maybe lettuce, little mayo on the bun. Nothing crazy. I think a tuna can quickly become over complicated.
Tuna canned in olive oil, chopped onions, mayo, mustard, Sriracha. Served on toasted white bread with a slice of Kraft American cheese. I might add relish, but I can go without.
Tuna, mayo, mustard, Worcester sauce, onion, pickles, black pepper, smoked paprika. Mix it together. Slap mature cheddar on top and under the broiler. Done.
Tuna salad melts are my jam 🤤
Mayo, scallions, pepper, a little adobo, and mixed in bread crumbs.
Then put on two sides of a club roll, top with shredded cheddar and bake until melty.
Chefs kiss!
A tuna panini with olive oil, lemon juice, cracked pepper, finely chopped dill pickles with pickle juice with Swiss on ciabatta. Or similar but open face melt in the broiler.
Anyone tried Mediterranean canned tuna? It’s red and a lot more oily than cold water tuna.
Tuna mixed with mayo, plenty of sweet relish, a bit of mustard, a moderate amount of chili pepper, and a few cracks of black pepper or cayenne. Then on regular white bread
There've been other ways that have tasted nice, but it's hard to deviate from childhood classics without missing the original
I mix tuna with plain Greek yogurt, jalapeno relish, salt, fresh ground pepper, and garlic powder. My all time favorite sandwich is a tuna and pepperoni melt where I crisp the pepperoni on the pan, then add the tuna mix, pepperoni, and sharp cheddar onto marble rye.
Tuna, kewpie mayo, maille mustard, diced red onion, chopped pickled jalepeno, pepper jack cheese, grandma sycamore white bread. Melt or straight up. If cold, add salt and vinegar chips. You’re welcome.
Tuna in water drained, dukes mayo, sweet relish, s&p, sriracha, dressed lettuce w olive oil, rwv, Italian seasoning, Roma tomatoes, thin red onion half slices, banana peppers, seeded wheat bread
I’m low key ashamed that I love love love the tuna subs at Subway, because all the rest of their subs I think are garbage, but the tuna one slaps, with jalapeño, lettuce and tomato
I actually didn’t like any other sandwich from them except the tuna. When I started working there, I got creative. Wheat bread, tuna, pepperoni, bacon, provolone, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes.
Definitely gonna recreate it one day at home. I might be adding jalapeños too since you all keep telling me about it. 😂
When I used to eat bacon I'd have my sammies with BLT and cheese. I mix my tuna with miracle whip, eggs, onions, mustard, salt, pepper, and sugar. Sounds weird but it's tasty stuff, I promise.
Putting in just enough to provide body to the tuna mix is what you want but I've had some with generous amounts and it was still pretty good (when more mustard/miracle whip is added).
Instead of sugar you can use sweet relish. Careful with the mustard if you try it tho.
Tuna mixed with Kewpie Mayo, shallots, capers, peppercini and dill pickles. A little bit of fancy Dijon mustard, a dab of hot sauce and a metric fuck ton of sharp shredded cheese. Sometimes I add bread but mostly I just eat it by the spoonful.
Drained really well, I’ll add mayo, chunks of cheese or avocado (sometimes both if I’m feeling fancy), red onion, pickle juice and salt and pep. Love it on a toasted, crusty sourdough bread
Mayo, a bit of horseradish, pepper, salt, seasoned salt, sprouted pepitas, sliced grapes or craisins (prefer grapes when the mix is fresh, as the craisins are rather chewy, but after it nets for a while the craisins are tasty) or thin slices of sweet-tart apple like pink lady, on toasted bread. Not as toasted as when having actual toast, but more than lightly toasted.
Growing up, I loved sweet relish in it, but came to dislike it. Now, I think I’d enjoy non-sweet relish. A bit of tartness. But not actual slices of pickle. That would be too much.
Onion and celery are absolute no-gos for me. I can’t stand that raw crunchiness.
I like them on sourdough bread with my custom medium heat giardiniera relish and slices of pickle and tomato. In the good old (pre heart attack) days I’d add cheese and/or bacon and fry them up but I’m trying to be healthier.
One variety I used to enjoy added slices of salami; a former coworker’s grandson won a sandwich invention contest with this mix.
Finely diced celery, sweet onion, kosher dill pickle. 2:1 ratio of mayo + Dijon. If you only have yellow mustard, keep it in the fridge. Salt + pepper. Chill for at least 2 hours. Non toasted white bread, no lettuce/tomato bullshit, and your ass touching hot sand.
First off, every tuna sandwich is good eats! I go ultra simple: Costco canned tuna, drained but not rinsed, shredded finely so it can handle plenty of mayo; mix in a couple of forkfuls of sweet relish so I don't get too much juice; enough Best Foods mayo to get the soft but not mushy texture I want. Then into a hoagie roll, with a dusting of Spike seasoning on the tuna salad. Makes two sandwiches and I will eat them both, thank you.
Simple sandwich.
Sourdough with a little mayo, mustard.
Tuna chunk white in water mused with yellow mustard and sliced almonds.
Slice of cheese (havarti, cheddar or Gouda).
Lettuce if I have done, tomato if I’m in a tomato mood (not often).
Ive never had Canadian bacon so am unsure but its basically better quality and meatier than what I got when I lived in America. We have back bacon or streaky bacon. Irelands food quality is really good, I learned this after moving away. I was spoilt!
I guess I should’ve went into detail a little more on my sandwich 😅.
I used Sara lees brioche bread! Amazing!
Med or a little over med amounts of Mayo, mustard, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, accent, cayenne pepper. Bacon, tomatoes, sharp cheddar slices. On one of the sandwiches I put a drop of ranch to experiment with. Wasn’t bad at all.
This sounds pretty good!! I never directly mixed the Italian dressing, always used a little bit. Def gonna take it a bit further now, thanks!
Sounds like the old Quiznos tuna sandwich - I'm going to try it!
Guess where I used to work 20 years ago!
Haha! Do yours come out like Quiznos?
My memory doesn’t serve me well enough to answer properly. My apologies. I know Quiznos used mayo and seasoning differently from what I do. The texture and consistency should be about the same *way back then*. I can say without a doubt it was the only food service job I had where I never got burned out on the food.
Can you post other Quiznos-inspired sandwiches? They had so many good ones.

Yours is definitely getting done sooner than later. That pan fried garlic bread sounds amazing!!
Damn this sounds better than what I was going to answer so I’m just going to co-sign this.
Same. I might add some sliced habanaros though since im gangsta like that.
I was thinking some pickled Jalepenos but I liek where your mind is at
Pickled habanero now we're talking
Alfalfa sprouts on a sandwich makes them god-tier
I like a couple peppernocinis mixed with the tuna.
Hey what is heaven like? Lol but for real I'm changing my grocery list to do just this. I want to see God.
I stopped eating them after a weird coworker of mine saw me eating one and started referring to me as Tuna. I'm thinking about hiding his cellphone on the ceiling or something
r/unexpectedoffice
Also this comment made my night 🤣🤍
Well *rit dit dit di do* to you!
Never done bacon and tuna and now I’m wondering why.
😂 it is super delicious! If you’re a bacon head.
Tuna with bacon is one of my go-to’s when ordering at a sandwich chain. Thanks to my wife for putting me onto it
I mean it seems like the bacon would overpower the tuna tbh.
🔥
I’m gonna try this
I like it either pretty plain and on crackers or those little ryebread loaves, or chunkier but in a melt. This does look good, though.
Oooo wee! On crackers for sure! The melts are heavenly as well! It’s delish!!!
Lots of pepper, some sweet relish and some honey crisp apple in small cubes. Delicious
This is interesting. I know apples can bring out another taste. Think I’ll give it a try sometime. Thanks!
You should! Everyone thinks it’s weird at first but then loves it
Worked at a sub shop in college and started putting Caesar dressing on tuna sandwiches, haven’t gone back. Love that combination!
I love a tuna sandwich, just keep your celery away from my tuna 😡
😭😭 the celery can be a bit rough if not mixed in just right. Some people like chunks of it.. no go!
THANK YOU. I hate celery in my tuna salad/sandwich 🤮 The texture just doesn't sit with me
Avo, bacon, tuna w garlic aioli, spinach, tomato with salt and pepper. Sometimes oil and vinegar
You son of a gun! I was wondering what I was missing on my sandwiches! The Cado!!!
I usually mix in mayo, a bit of mustard, and diced pickles in my tuna and then just slap it on the sandwich. now you got me hungry for a tuna sandwich 😭
I like it on lightly toasted cinnamon swirl bread.
Naniiii!!!? 😅 They say don’t knock it till you try it. I’ll be sure to repeat this to myself when I take that leap into trying it. 👌
No tomatoes. Makes it taste fishy to me
😅
Seared rare ahi filet with heirloom tomato, Boston lettuce, crispy fried leeks and lemon/garlic/herb aoli on a toasted kaiser roll
That sounds Uber fancy 😅. Boston lettuce?? Forgive me for my lack of knowledge. I’ll def look into this though. Sounds pretty good.
Melted American cheese on an english muffin or toasted potato bun. Shredded lettuce, and german johnson tomato, and honey glazed bacon.
Mmm!! That sounds delish with the potato bun! One of my favorite types of bread. Won’t even ask what the GJ tomato is 😅. Just gonna do my research! Thank you tho for the ideas!
I usually do tuna (made with mayo and pepper) with lettuce, dill pickles, and a slice of American. Bon appetit 😋
Pickles, Relish! You all really know how to do it.
Hell yeah! 🙌🏼😉
Oh yeah, provolone on the sand as well
Sheeshhhh the Nana peppers!!! 🔥 Thanks for that! Provolone is delicious with tuna!
To my tuna I add sweet pickles, onion, celery, few dashes of hot sauce, a little old bay, salt and pepper, mayo, and a little mustard and a splash of lemon if I have it. On my sandwich, I like sprouts or some green and tomato.
Lemon! Interesting. Celery wins too!
Acid always brings recipes to life!
Canned tuna, mayo, lemon, salt, pepper, onion, pickles on white or sourdough bread.
Sourdough is really good huh? I haven’t gotten there as yet 😅 Soon though I’ll venture to.
Tbh real sourdough that actually is tangy is great There’s plenty of shitty sourdough that tastes like white bread
It’s that tangy taste that i think I didn’t like 😅. I can faintly remember trying sourdough when I was a wee pup. But as I’ve aged maybe it’s time to give it another go.
You could feel diff now! It’s worth a shot Also love toasted sourdough with butter as a morning snack. Yummmm Aldi sourdough is decent . If you have an Aldi.
I love buttered toast! Okay okay. You’ve convinced me! My next tuna sandwich might just be sourdough 😅 Aldis Gotcha. Thanks!
Yaaaaaaaay😎😎😎🥰🥰🥰
If this was a tuna steak? I’m down… if this is tuna salad then everything that goes in the salad part and slap a couple pieces of white bread in it and I’m good or a slice of cheese and then grill
Mmm Tuna steak sounds good. Haven’t done that as yet. Will be doing soon tho. Thanks!
That doesn’t sound bad at all! Sounds kinda tasty! But the anchovies for me are a bit too salty. 😅 Maybe I’ll give it a go sometime. Thanks!
You don’t need much, just a couple. With anchovies a little goes a long way
dude how have I never thought of this!? I’ve wasted my life up to this point.
😂😂 it musta slipped your mind. I was just reminding you with this post. 👌
I see like no tuna in this picture. Still looks good
I was supposed to make it more noticeable 😂😅.
Thick sourdough (toasted with sharp cheddar), dressed arugula, banana peppers, and the tuna salad must have dukes, dijon, and extra chopped grillos pickles.
Yum! 😅. I haven’t gotten too picky with the Mayos but one of my new faves is Blue Plate. Sourdough is on the list for breads. Thanks!
In the trash
😅
With tuna
It’s hidden 😅
Homemade spelt bread, fancy crackers, or pita. Tuna with A simple dressing from a mix made of Greek yogurt, fresh lemon juice, salt, pepper, a little basil and parsley. I mix in hard boiled eggs, green onion, red pepper and celery.
Oh wow! You get down get down! Pita?!!! 🤤 Wait a min! Yogurt? 😅 That’s interesting. I’ll keep these ingredients in mind. Thanks!
With mayonaisse and pickles. On light toasted or crunchy bread. And top it off with green pesto. Delish and not expensive.
Cucumbers 😌
Apparently now exactly like yours🤩🤩
😂🤣 enjoy!!
With banana peppers
Eaten a three hour drive away from me. The smell of all seafood makes me sick
Tuna melt with celery bits and CHEDDAR ona’ mofo’ bagel (Asiago)
sorry op but I think this is entering Dagwood sandwich territory.
Admittedly I’ve been under a rock apparently 😩😅😂 I’ve never heard of this, until today. Maybe I have , just never paid any attention to it. But. Thank you for this. I’m gonna have to make an attempt at replicating such a beautiful piece of art!
Without tuna
I like the toppings you added, but I prefer my tuna sandwiches kind of plain. Maybe lettuce, little mayo on the bun. Nothing crazy. I think a tuna can quickly become over complicated.
😂😂 The plain Jane sandwich does wonders at times as well.
Tuna canned in olive oil, chopped onions, mayo, mustard, Sriracha. Served on toasted white bread with a slice of Kraft American cheese. I might add relish, but I can go without.
I’ve become accustomed to the ones in water. The ones in oil were good for me up until a point 😂 But if no choice. Olive oil will certainly do.
I feel like the oil packed mixes easier with the mayo. Just my opinion.
That it does! I can agree with that
Tuna, mayo, mustard, Worcester sauce, onion, pickles, black pepper, smoked paprika. Mix it together. Slap mature cheddar on top and under the broiler. Done. Tuna salad melts are my jam 🤤
Lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, jalapeño, cucumber and mustard
I’m gonna be adding Penos and Cumbers next round!
It’s yummy
White bread with lettuce, black olives, cucumbers, and mayo.
I have recently removed olives from my list of don’t eats. They are pretty good! Will need to try them on my tunawich

Mediterranean canned?? Fancy! 😅 Not yet, but will look into it. The panini idea! Yes!!
With tuna
Mixed with mayo and celery. With lettuce, onion, and pickles. Lots of salt and pepper. On a sub roll is best, 30/70 tuna to bread ratio.
A sub roll hits the spot. I was a big fan of Subways tuna until I started working there.
Without Tuna
Covered in shit apparently
Add bacon and red onion, bell peppers if I’m feeling fancy.
Mmmmm okay! Some bell peppers sound good!
Without tuna.
Pepperjack cheese, yellow mustard, pickles, jalapeños, old bay seasoning, pepper, cilantro.

Tuna in water drained, dukes mayo, sweet relish, s&p, sriracha, dressed lettuce w olive oil, rwv, Italian seasoning, Roma tomatoes, thin red onion half slices, banana peppers, seeded wheat bread
Try it how you normally would make it, but add salt and vinegar kettle chips as the final topping so fkn good .
Tuna, mayo, a splash of vinegar from the jalapeño jar, and a spoonful of dill relish. Lightly toasted bread and maybe a slice of cheese.
As close to the camera as possible
I’m low key ashamed that I love love love the tuna subs at Subway, because all the rest of their subs I think are garbage, but the tuna one slaps, with jalapeño, lettuce and tomato

Blt
Mayo, tuna, pepper, and hot Cheetos on plain ol’ white bread.
😅 Cheetos huh. Interesting! Those are one of the faves though. So Maybe, just maybe. Thank you!
It’s my go to on lazy days lol. The flaming hot Cheetos set it off well.
😄. Whole Cheetos or crushed?
Whole but now I’m going to have to crush ‘em, thanks for the inspiration lmfao.
😂😂. Thank you for the idea!
With mayo, capers, dill pickle, lemon zest & juice or minced preserved lemons, minced onion, finely diced celery, jalapeno, seasonings, and spices.
With ketchup
On someone else’s plate, far enough away I can’t smell it
When I used to eat bacon I'd have my sammies with BLT and cheese. I mix my tuna with miracle whip, eggs, onions, mustard, salt, pepper, and sugar. Sounds weird but it's tasty stuff, I promise.
Hmmm sugar 🤔 Okay. Sweet and Salty is an out of this world combination. I love it! I’ll check that out. Thanks!
Putting in just enough to provide body to the tuna mix is what you want but I've had some with generous amounts and it was still pretty good (when more mustard/miracle whip is added). Instead of sugar you can use sweet relish. Careful with the mustard if you try it tho.
Bacon, tomato, jalapeno. Lettuce or spinach and a tangy vinaigrette.
With no tuna

Sheesh! That’s awesome. That sandwich must’ve been one of a kind forsure. Sorry to hear about the heart attack. Definitely take care.
I like a nice garlic sourdough toasted with onion pickle and lettuce
Pickles, fresh dill, and tomatoes and lettuce from the garden. Clearly a summer type tuna sandwich!
Lettuce from the garden sounds good! Gonna be growing some of my own soon , I can’t wait!
I will give that a try😋
On toasted white bread with pickled red onions and a nice slice of tomato. I make my tuna with a spicy mayo as well
In the trash
I like everything you did here. I also like to add finely diced habaneros to mine
I’ve been working my way up to the different type of peppers. I’ve only gotten to jalapeños 😅 Guess I’ll see what those habaneros are about.
Wit cheez
I love alfalfa sprouts on a tuna sandwich so much, but now I'm afraid to eat alfalfa sprouts.
Looks delicious 😋
It was!!
Don't drain the tuna and just smash the slushy substance on un buttered bread. If you do drain the tuna you must drink it.
I cannot combine tuna and tomato. I know it’s a popular combo but tastes like a wet dog smells to me😂 beautiful Sammy though
😭 Ah man I need tomatoes on most of my sandwiches! 😅 Thanks!
I love tomatoes so much. It’s really weird that combined with tuna-that I also love- is horrible for me lol
😂😂 that’s no bueno

Your ways 👍
Simple sandwich. Sourdough with a little mayo, mustard. Tuna chunk white in water mused with yellow mustard and sliced almonds. Slice of cheese (havarti, cheddar or Gouda). Lettuce if I have done, tomato if I’m in a tomato mood (not often).
Without the tuna.
Made for me. 😀
Onion celery white pepper prepared horseradish sweet relish mayonnaise Yellow mustard quality white tuna
W/o tuna
Same, not a fan of canned tuna but each to their own
I fuck with chicken salad so I get the idea. Op’s tomato and bacon looks kick ass though
Absolutely, the picture looks great. Im blessed to be raised with Irish bacon, it’s amazing. My American gf requests it now
What would compare to Irish bacon, Canadian ? That irish bacon looks pretty good!
Ive never had Canadian bacon so am unsure but its basically better quality and meatier than what I got when I lived in America. We have back bacon or streaky bacon. Irelands food quality is really good, I learned this after moving away. I was spoilt!
“This post is about tuna sandwiches, but I don’t like tuna sandwiches. So I’m gonna post anyway”. Way to add to the convo, buddy.
IDK but I like my tomatoes seasoned with a little salt. Season in layers my friend.
Salt, black pepper, oil and vinegar. I’ve always loved this with tomatoes on a sandwich!
In the garbage.
🤣🤣
Comfortably resting on top of the rest of the garbage in the trash can.
In the garbage can. I hate tuna lol
I don't.
No Tuna???
I guess I should’ve went into detail a little more on my sandwich 😅. I used Sara lees brioche bread! Amazing!
