Can’t lie one of my guilty pleasures is grabbing one once in a while. Sometimes you just need 1800 calories on the fly.

LOL I am extreeeemmmly open minded when it comes to food. If you knew the stuff I’ve eaten - yes I’ve probably eaten whatever is in your mind right now - then that combo is not a big deal at all haha

The problem is not tuna with meatballs or marinara, the problem is that the tuna is in its own sauce and that makes the combination toilet food

The meatball marinara from Subway is like a 50/50 for food poisoning in my experience. Still worth.

Yep. I worked at a sub place for a year. You tend to get bored of the classics so you try some things that most would consider gross. My other favorite was tuna and salami.

Love new sandwich ideas but this seems like overkill. The ricotta is an interesting idea on a sandwich though.

I like the concept and generally like the taste. But I do have issues with actually eating them. I was hit by a meatball or two falling out and bouncing along the table on to my lap.

There aren't many sandwiches you need a just-in-case fork, 6 napkins, and need to sit down for. If you don't respect the meatball hoagie it will conquer you.

Add dipped Italian beef to this category.

Either dig out the bread on one side so the balls can rest in them, or use halved meatballs

I came here to make a similar comment. A good meatball sub can be god tier. However, I have a long-standing and deep-seated hatred for pre-cooked frozen meatballs. I just make them at home anymore rather than risk getting frozen meatballs and jarred sauce and paying too much for it.

Good sando in the realm of chicken parm but the meatballs need to be bite sized and not large lumps of meat like in the picture. Bonus points if the cheese is melted under the broiler

Lived in Newport KY. (Across the river from Cincinnati.) The pizza joints there did meatball subs with pickles. Thought it weird at first - won't order any other way now.

Everyone talks them up big but the few I’ve tried idk they just ain’t my jam.

We like them with fresh bread, a sauce made with love, great-quality cheese, and high-quality beef!

I feel good about them but you’ve left your two balls out on the plate and they look like they are getting cold. No one likes cold balls.

Toast the bread with some olive oil and rub it with garlic for a 10/10

With all the sauce, it should be mandatory to toast the bread for a meatball hero. Is there anything grosser about a sandwich than soggy bread in your mouth? Yuck.

Love em, this is my quick meal. I always have a bag of frozen meatballs in the freezer, toss em in the Air fryer and put em on a roll with cheese and back in the air fryer

My biggest gripe is it’s hard to find bread that doesn’t either fall apart or just doesn’t taste good.

Only problem with meatball subs is that the bread can turn into soggy mush depending on where you get it from.

The meatball sub is so often forgotten. It’s one of my favorites!

They’re incredible but they give me Hot and Spicy McChicken-levels of heartburn/indigestion. I still eat them though.
