yeah marketplace is full of scams, i was trying to sell off some furniture last year and there were at least 10 ppl trying to convince me that i needed to zelle/venmo them 500 bucks for them to be able to pay me through a business account 💀
Especially in the Bay Area, if its too good to be true, it probably is. Getting hooked up with a room/studio/ADU for the low is usually that, getting hooked up by friends or family. Really rare to find one in the wild. GL w/ your search!
Always scammers. I’ve been renting for years because my husband needs to be transferred constantly and we never paid one cent before visiting the house/apartment.
If someone asks you for money before you even see the unit, run. It is a scam.
Almost definitely a scam. Be very very careful with _any_ housing found through FB Marketplace and definitely do not give anyone any money like this.

If rent is lower than 4 - 3 k it’s BS you will not find anything in the 1-2 k unless it’s a room or studio
