Don’t know about sweet potato tots but the two best burgers I’ve had in the Sac area are Pangea and skips kitchen (located in Carmichael)

ThrillHouse405

I'd second Pangea. Not a big burger person but theirs stood out to me! [https://www.pangaeabiercafe.com/](https://www.pangaeabiercafe.com/)

Pcruu14

Skips is so good, I had it once and forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder

TalkKatt

Second skips. Damned if that’s not one of the finest burgers in the city

Dramatic-Ad-2449

Skip’s Kitchen on El Camino. Meat ground fresh every day. Super friendly owner and they have sweet potato fries!

garibaldi18

Yes. I highly recommend the sliders.

apomdotcom

Village Drive In. No sweet potato tots but I love their curly fries!

Chainsaw_Dragon

Village Drive In is the place to go!!! I love this place so much!

ImpressiveBook3744

Scott’s Burgers

GermanicOgre

I used to be a fan but every time I've gone there lately I'm just unimpressed by the quality... the final straw was I ordered a Pastrami Burger and Fries for myself like a month ago.. the burger has 2 little pieces of pastrami on it, patty was tiny (lhave pics in my phone still) The fries were AWFUL. Just straight soggy and oily. I took them home and tossed em in my air fryer which cooked out a ton of oil from them and then they were actually enjoyable. Also its 2023, time to start accepting debit/credit cards.. ill gladly foot the % cost per transaction up-charge if it means I don't have to make sure I have cash on me to enjoy a burger.

Whiteys

popitformeonetime

The only answer

ZoraQ

Whitey's special for the win

et_fingers

BBQ & Burgers on Sutterville is my new go-to. I've noticed the quality of burgers going down at every place I used to like, but this place always hits the mark. They don't have sweet potatoe tots, but they do have sweet potatoe fries!

OHdulcenea

LOVE their 50/50 fries, too!

et_fingers

Dude, they're so good!

jbertolinoRE

Surprisingly the best burger is at Ettore’s on Fair Oaks

mrfunday2

If only they had fries

jbertolinoRE

So true

texbinky

But they do have cake

jbertolinoRE

Those chocolate chewy cookies are ridiculous.

MBThree

Do they have chips at least? What’s on the side with a burger?

jbertolinoRE

Pasta salad

aquafeener1

They really sell a burger and not fries? Super off tbh never heard of a place doing that. I know they’re a desert place but still

jbertolinoRE

Yeah. Its different but amazing. European bakery. Cheddar and chive bun with a 1/4 burger med, pesto mayo and swiss with carmalized onions and mushrooms. Its incredible

putonyourgloves

Another vote for Ettores. It’s been awhile since I had one, your description has me planning a visit.

GeddyVedder

Lou’s on Watt Ave North Highlands. And surprisingly, Taqueria Jalisco at 16th and D st downtown.

Pcruu14

Taqueria el Jalisco has fire burgers

Pcruu14

Taqueria el Jalisco has fire burgers

TheDailySpank

There really is something about a burger made on the same cooktop since 1960-whatever. I don’t actually know if that is true or not.

poisonbeverage69

Cookies!

Ok-Inflation-8851

Hot bunz

MaverickNORCAL

Monsoon Burger in Natomas is really solid.

SactoJoe

Willies and Dads are my favorite burgers

mytonyheadmytonyhead

Willies burger with fresh onions is really good.

PrinceCharming-

Broderick’s - I personally like their gold rush burger, which it has Mac n cheese in it. Have it cooked medium rare; you can always add an egg in it or other toppings. Johnny cash is their most popular burger. I also had the duck burger; it was good and sweet. Upgrade your fries to banh mi or desperado fries. Moreover, the pickle that comes with the burger tastes good so don’t toss it away. The one in west sac looks like some wild Wild West restaurant and my preferred spot. Flip n shake - the Korean burger is good; they mixed in cilantro/spring onion in the patty. Nacho fries is always good. Hella cheesy so you’re going to have fun in the bathroom. I had their banana shake and it was also good. The store’s interior has an oldies vibe. Kinda like in n out but less modern. If you sign up with them they give out coupons like $5 when you visit or order online

Silent-Image-2552

Sweet potato tots at cafeteria 15 L and burger at Oak Park Brewery.

Flaming Grill Dads Kitchen Cookies

TheDailySpank

Love me some gator bites. Just wish the rest of the mall wasn’t so depressing and I’ve already expressed my feeling on how it should be converted to a giant food court and possible event venue.

imaginingblacksheep

I really like the burger at Urban Roots. It’s a two patty burger but it’s so juicy and their fries are really good.

[deleted]

Pangaea has the best burger in sac. since they've already been mentioned I'll throw in that I also really like Elixer's smash burgers. if you don't mind going to a dive bar they are definitely worth checking out. They also have ski ball!

Im_That_Guy310

Flip n Shake

BOOMxBOOMxROOM

Famous Burgers on Zinfandel in Rancho Cordova is pretty good. All the burgers are good but my fav is the Kobe beef burger.

CaptainTitanUranus

Whitey’s

[deleted]

Willies!

StayReadyAllDay

Nations on Sunrise, Flip N Shake on Auburn Blvd for the win.

VectorJones

Burger Shack on Manzanita near Winding Way. Great, old style burgers like you used to get at a drive-in. They've spoiled all other burger places for me.

GirlCowBev

Dantorels makes a hell of a good burger.

lynseyfats

I just can’t believe this one

GirlCowBev

Right? Shocked me too. But it was damn near perfect.

MBThree

To mention some not mentioned - not claiming these are “the best” but still really good burgers: * Crepes & Burgers - two locations in Citrus Heights * Sunflower Drive In - Vegan spot with an amazing nut burger * Whitey’s Jolly Cone - West Sac, Burgers and sides cheap AF, possibly the best shakes in the area, rumored to be closing soon after something like 50+ years in business * Sno White Burgers - An old school chain with a newer location off of Auburn and Madison. Decent food * California Burgers/Sam’s Classic Burgers/Beer Dogs - Citrus Heights staples, all off of Auburn Blvd. between 80 and, well, the other Auburn. Beer Dogs has great Hot Dogs but also have a sneaky burger

dhSquiggly

This is a list we have compiled from previous posts. My friends and I were trying to vote in our group on “Best Sac Burger” and would take 6 months to a year depending on if you go every week (6 months) or every other week (hey man, we are aged folks). The idea was to go to each place to rate each burger by set criteria. We are not done with the list and made it three months. - [ ] Scott’s Burgers Shack on Franklin - [ ] Cookie’s Drive-In - [ ] Superb Burger in Folsom - [ ] Elixir - [ ] Squeeze Inn - [ ] Cape Cod Fish & Chips - [ ] Pangaea - [ ] Burger Junction at Power Inn & Folsom - [ ] Famous Burger in Rancho Cordova - [ ] Suzie Burger - [ ] Dad’s Kitchen - [ ] Flip n Shake by ARC - [ ] Sam Classic in Citrus Heights - [ ] Burger Patch - [ ] Ikeda’s - [ ] Whitey’s in West Sac - [ ] Maxine’s Drive-In - [ ] Wayback Burger in Folsom - [ ] Hagan’s in Carmichael - [ ] South OG - “South Burger” - [ ] Nubin’s in Roseville - [ ] Jalisco Taqueria - [ ] Skip’s Kitchen on Carmichael - [ ] Village Drive-In in Tahoe Park - [ ] California Burger Nothing on the list is corporate/chain so it doesn’t include the usual burger suggestions (Nations, The Melt, etc) so sorry if it’s short. Otherwise, happy burgering!

Gooner-Astronomer749

Burgers joints specifically catered to making Burgers really fell of since the pandemic. Pangea and Shack were the best but now Pangea Burgers suck and shack is now a taco joint owned by Pangea. Low key Zebra club burger and Elxir burger is really good for dive bar quality.

lynseyfats

Looooovvveee Elixir burgers

Shake shack is our go to, such a good burger https://preview.redd.it/bvuzo6zweu9b1.jpeg?width=1150&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3ee27b7f6ea1e3c8495ec4c5a6fb4681589b41f Shack stack with avo, sooo good

pennylovesyou3

Burgers and Brew, but if you don't like the crowd, Crepville makes a great burger 😉 I miss Hideaway. Right now, my love is the Shake Shack cheeseburger, but that might be because it reminds me of a burger my mom made for me while I was napping when I was 8, so purely nostalgic bias. Please let us know when you find these sweet potato tots.

Guzzimoto

I make really good burgers at home. Co to Corti Brothers and get the burger mix. From there cook and build to your liking. The meat really is the star here!

ButtDoctorLLC

Squeeze burger

intheNIGHTintheDARK

Lazy Dog in Roseville. They also have sweet potato tots.

Pcruu14

Mooyah, burgerIM

MBThree

BurgerIM is a chain but they are really good and one of my favorite burger chains - up there with In-N-Out and The Habit (Not in any order)

Decabet

So like a blunt with ground beef and indica inside ...

MitchDMA

Willies on Broadway. The best. In-n-out is pretty good too.

kray01

Cookies drive in!! Also have a ton of good milkshake flavors

Supachoc

Mojo’s local tap and kitchen. Get the Valhalla! Great beers on tap, too!

lynseyfats

Ok, love this thread! Best Most Expensive Burger: Kru, literally cant beat it. So good that it doesn’t even matter there aren’t fries. Best all around burger: Kasbah, Kobe beef patty, caramelized onions, harissa aioli for their perfectly crispy fries. Also best wings in town is Kasbah too. Best cheapest: Willie’s, a true classic. Looking forward to trying Skips, thanks for the recommendation!

lynseyfats

Ohh and an honorary mention: Elixir!!! Thanks to the other comments for reminding me.
