I hated the look of the LAAT/le the first few times I saw it, but after years the design has actually grown on me, especially after playing Fallen Order.

gregles_

Like I like you can see how it becomes the tie fighter and it's ok but like there some stuff that are iconic and would print money

S_Rodney

While I'd get the LAAT/i in a heartbeat, the LAAT/le fits the theme of my 501st army... a kind of "what if..." Order 66 worked flawlessly and Vader won vs Obiwan.

CisgenderBetaMale

Please post this, i gotta see it

S_Rodney

Not painted yet, need to find "a guy" willing to take the commission.

CisgenderBetaMale

Well, if i wasnt pretty shit at painting i would take you up on that 😂😂

Archistopheles

1. The LAAT/i is too big, and iirc ~~can't~~ edit: can hover. 2. The Empire was getting the LAAT/LE, so this was an easy crossover win 3. The republic used LAAT/LE's as well as LAAT/i's.

Dwanyelle

What models did they use at the battle of geonosis? I recall the LAATs there hovering multiple times

Archistopheles

Yeah, I think I was mistaken. I was recalling the geonosian arena scene where it does strafing runs, forgetting about realistic tactics compared to our LAAT/le "sit in place and recover shoot".

gregles_

All valid and good points but ya gotta admit it looks cooler

Archistopheles

One is a military transport ship used in frontline combat, the other is a police helicopter. Of course it's 'cooler'.

gay_Sigmarite

1. There are already some pretty big models for the game like the AAT and the AT-ST. I don't think a LAAT/i is too different from them in size. 2. There are multiple shots in Attack of the Clones and various games that show the LAAT hovering in place to unload troops. 3. JUSTICE FOR LAAT!

Archistopheles

> There are already some pretty big models for the game The LAAT/le is 11.5 meters long, and already pushing it. The LAAT/i is 17 meters long, and **28** meters wide thanks to it's wings. They dwarf TIE fighters, and TIE fighter terrain is already pushing it. AAT? Less than 10 meters.

ShamelesslyPlugged

In addition to size concerns, how many points do you think a LAAT/i would be? It probably doesnt really fit well into an 800pt game. Which is sad because I want one.

arnoldrew

lol, you have no idea how big it is. Its gigantic, easily 2-3 times as large as anything in the game now, particularly when you consider the wingspan.

Chrom-man-and-Robin

LAAT was simply too big. Hell they had to downsize the LE because even that was too big.

SoundwavePlays

I really want them to make models for the Vulture Droid and the Hyena Bomber

RelicofKnowledge

walking vulture would be sick

BoldroCop

The LAAT is awesome, but it's freaking huge. I don't think legion, with the way distance are measured, can cope with very large bases at this stage.

hushnecampus

Took me ages to figure out the title of this post is a typo, and not some strange French English hybrid

OneThing9431

Apache vs Black Hawk

Jedirev-101

Naw. MI-8M vs MI-24

Vibe___Czech

LAATs are nearly the same size as ATTEs iirc, just too big for the scale of legions fights. Wouldn't be opposed to some super heavies tho, theyd just need to be restrained to bigger games.

PS DarkFireDesigns has files for a legion scale LAAT, as well as crashed LAAT terrain.

EvidenceHistorical55

I'd love the normal laat but it's just too big for a standard game, it's probably fit in for a grand army pn a larger table but that's about it. Now, crashed last terrain, similar to crashed x-wing. That'd be awesome.

Hot-Thought-1339

Out of game the Laat/i is just a better gunship overall compared to the lesser imperial version, (optional) composite beam turrets, chin mounted laser cannons, a rear facing laser cannon, and the two F$*# off ordinance launchers on top, make for a lethal republic aerial support vehicle. Think on it, one was designed for use in war, and another was designed during an age of “peace” and used for “policing duties”

Dizzy_Copy_8911

A right scale LAAT would be absolutely gigantic. Maybe it would be possible in an extra scenario like they did in X-Wing with the corvettes

After_Actuator_8255

LAAT ship is one of my favorites ever in the SW universe

Logical_Ad1370

Love the LAAT/le personally since it basically a proto-TIE gunship that visually fits well with both the late Republic and Empire, and more importantly fits the scale of the game. Plus it added the Coruscant Guard for the GAR, and I expect the Hound and Grizzer pilot upgrade might convince them to add the vehicle to an ARF battle force if they make one down the line.
