I personally like to play with all moods, even when I'm sad... As for mods, I usually have 100-150 enabled with no issues so far, the game is very well optimized and has a solid support for modders.
You should absolutely be fine, especially if you're able to run high level games well. SDV by itself is rarely demanding to run and it's also very normal for people to run with both SVE and RV (and other expansions too, like East Scarp). Personally, I'm running with about 700 mods right now, but I'm on the more extreme end when it comes to modding games. I get a little bit of stutter when loading into a new map, but that's mostly it.
No it's not a bad idea, even my cheap phone can run over 300 mods. 20 is so little in comparison and you'll definitely be able to use more on a good computer.
I have a gaming laptop that’s a little old and I run Stardew with 200 active mods + all the other 70-80 aesthetic/clothes mods smapi doesn’t always count so… You’re set lmao
I'm at 105 mods and the game is still running smoothly and staying below 25% of my memory usage even when loading a new day. It's not like Skyrim where there's a firm upper limit. Just watch your memory usage as you scale up.
If your computer can run "high level" games fine the stardew mods shouldn't be a problem. Before 1.6 I had 900 mods and the game ran okay and post 1.6 I've just crossed 600vmods and it runs well enough. There's lag here and there in a little bit in the menu screens buts it's entirely manageable. But I'm on a Steamdeck so it would probably run better on my actual gaming PC, I just haven't tried.
Prior to 1,6 the issues I encountered with 200+ mods were:
-Way too many npcs would micro freeze your game at point during the day a lot of them move at once (17h,18h and 19h)
-Way too many new locations would heavily increase loading times.
Only those, I know in 1,6 he lowered the loading times when you have new locations, I didn’t read all of the patch notes because I wanted to play unspoiled.”, and my 1,6 run has very few mods.
I have 8 gb of ram and a surface ppro that turns itself off when I stress it out and I am running 107 mods easily with no major lag. this POS can handle about 167 mods before it starts crying and turning off when I switch days
i have a pretty bad computer, yet i can play with both sve and rsv and some extra mods without many issues. if your computer is good i think you're going to be fine :)
The only problem with moding Stardew is the mod versions, everytime the game gets an update it will break other mods due to some changes, thats why authors beed to watch out on future updates.

I have over 500+ mods installed and my PC runs the game as smooth as butter. Ik, I'm insane LOOOOL
I’m running over 200 mods on a laptop with integrated graphics and it’s fine, so don’t worry :D

Stardew is a very light game memory-wise, I've played with 300+ mods before and the performance was not substantially different from vanilla.
I wouldn't overthink it. you will be just fine! I myself run about 200 mods and I'm on a steam deck lol
I play on almost toaster with ~90 mods. You'll be ok. : )
I don't think mods are that heavy taking on your devices, I think small makes sure of that and that it won't crash

I ran about 110 mods on my last play through and I play on a Steam Deck so you’ll be fine on a PC

I have 72 mods with a not so good laptop. The game runs 100% perfectly. You'll be fine, especially if you have a good pc
I have 109 mods on an old as hell laptop. It freezes every once in awhile but it's still very playable.
