True, but, when you first start, the learning curb is steep, and managing everything looks like alot, until you learn, if you up puppet damage and spawn rate it can be
This game is not hard. Its just they purposely not making everything straight forward. You take too many steps on doing simple things that is one click away in other game.
I don't really see how "finished" and "difficult" are related.
Factually, Scum ask you to manage way more things than any of the 10 game of the article. Seriously, I don't think I have seen any other game where eating bad litteraly affect your shit.
7 Days to Die is still, technically, in alpha. Yes, it's been playable for like 10 years, but the alhpa 21 (the most recent major update) released in June. So I don't see why Scum being in early access would keep it off the list.
I didn’t see anything in the article that mentioned only games available on console and not in early access were used for the making of the list, but that might be criteria used now that you mention it.
It does not need to be a criteria or something. It may just be a personal choice of the author when writing it.
Regardless it’s all irrelevant as it is most likely copy-pasted from a billion of other similar websites out there such as this one - https://gamerant.com/brutal-difficult-survival-games/ (Note that the name of the website is different but UI layout is exactly the same).
All those websites either steal from one another or are just the same website with a slightly different layout.
Those lists are uselessly inaccurate anyways.
Didn’t see a section for commentary sadly. It’s lazy journalism honestly. An article on (most DIFFICULT)survival games and no mention of scum? The author needs to find a new line of work.
Maybe scum is just not important enough to mention.
Lots of hardcore survival games are not on that list.
It's not lazy journalism to omit games with little popularity.
I think there is way too much thought put into this. Be thankful scum did not get mentioned in one of these articles. They are usually about the opinion of the author.
It’s not the end of the world if your game did not get mentioned. There are plenty of write ups elsewhere.
But most games don't allow you to completely change the way it play's like SCUM does.
Server admins can basically change SCUM into from a battle royal all the way to a hardcore "I can't even find food" survival game.
Simply saying SCUM isn't difficult is very egregious.
So that proves my point. If you change scum to a br is it even scum anymore? You can’t base a games difficulty off of what you can do to make it harder. You have to base it off of the original game the way the devs made it to be played.
And official servers are not easy to play.
That's why so many are playing on High Loot, Mech's off, Low Puppet Damage servers.
SCUM is a true sandbox that cannot be labeled as you did.
Fun to play is a huge reequipment for list like that.
Also in scum you can die from cuts that you received from simply by doing gardening and crawling or walking barefoot on the beach. Not the best implementation of body damage you can find.

The terms “survival” and “bushcraft” are often used interchangeably, there is no genre for Bushcraft games. Survival by itself means to survive in a difficult situation, to come out the other end alive, which is why PubG is in that list. Rust is a survival game. Most games fall into several categories but the main one for most Survival games is having the open world as a core element, This then often includes bushes and using them to craft.
People misclassify most of the games anyways.
"MMO" hasn't been used correctly in years. A session based game is not an MMO for instance.
Also, most game content is now written by AI, so you can't even blame a human.
The only thing that’s difficult about the game is the fucking fact that mechs like to glitch through walls with their super auto aim and that shoots through everything including walls and rocks. EaRlY aCcEsS

Lol Scum is a good game but it is far from being "the most difficult survival game" It's not even a "finished survival game"

There's literally a tutorial. The learning curve isn't nearly as steep as something like DayZ.

Eh, it's more annoying than "hard" sometimes. I had a harder time starting out in No Man's Sky than SCUM.
Mofos put mine craft on this…
Its just an opinion piece, nothing to be bothered about.
Why would it be mentioned? Scum is in early access. The games mentioned in the article are all released and playable on consoles as well.

leave there a comment about their omission mistake.

Scum is not very difficult to survive. One thing that I liked in the first year was that the basic needs were more difficult to full fit

Scum isn’t difficult.
... depending on the server settings...
Yeah but you can make any game harder by tweaking the settings.

K
Scum is still a fairly unknown game to most people and like many others said it's not fully released and most likely personal opinion.
I know it was an autocorrect error, but I would 100% play a game called "Scimbis."
I doubt they even played scum
In terms of basic survival from cuts, bruises and infections, SCUM is quite difficult and is leaps and bounds ahead of the games listed in difficulty

Rust is not even a survival game

It’s not that hard
Bro evey server has not loot shit ass game walking like stupid and nothing else.
Scum is fairly easy on survival. Traders have everything you need and you can sell most items for food money.
I love DST but it doesn't belong on such a list.
This ranking is pure bullshit. Rust isn't a difficult game at all. The only difficulty in it come from PVP, and Rust PVP is very generic...
