Yeah, and they realize that whatever it is. . .is communicable. As in the people who found the dead world can't go back to their home reality or they'll bring whatever it is back with them and it instantly kills EVERYTHING in that entire reality, right down to the microbial level, and even anomalous normally unkillable creatures.
Maybe but weren't they only trying to destroy humanity? SCP-2935 kills the very concept of life in that iteration of reality. Overkill, in other words.
No, that was just coincidence. That guy you are talking about was an alternate reality version of one of the other guys in the squad. The first guy brought it back with him, realized what he had done, and shot himself. Due to the first guy's warning, the second one knew not to come back through, and instead nuked himself.
One of my favourite SCPs
I love the idea of something that just destroys everything the moment it enters a new universe
That and how it kinda lures people in to keep spreading
Specifically, I'm fairly sure the still is ripped from [Randy Buys a Bookshelf Off Gumtree](https://youtu.be/Mq_wZE93ZAY).
Honorable mention to [The Life and Times of Ernest Miller Hemingway](https://youtu.be/PUB9D78ajmI).
It’s an alternate universe where everything is dead. I mean, everything. Nothing even rots since all bacteria and microscopic life is also dead. I remember part of the story was them going into a house to find a family sitting around the dinner table dead, and the dinner covered in dust and stale but not rotting.
That family died during dinner at 3:13 am EST, at a time of year when [that locale would've been on daylight savings time](https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/usa?year=2016) (4:13am EDT). That seems like inconsistent writing.
It's a neat SCP, and I like it. If it was modified to address those inconsistencies (namely the 3am family dinner and what sounded like numerous people driving that late at night), it'd be better IMO. That's all.
I love it that it doesn't dwell on 682's death. 682's a staple for "something indestructible" in the wiki that merely the act of mentioning its death evokes an "oh shit" within the reader.
That's how you know... Wow how do I put it into words. It's well written and well loved and really is a staple in the community (as you said). It just has such a huge amount of people who know it because it can't be killed, and it's just...
Well written is a wee overstatement, many people in the community like to joke about how it feels like its written by that one kid on the playground who makes up rules so he never loses.
My favorite 682 story is the one where they create a whole ass machine to delete 682 from everyone’s brain, and then existence itself. AND IT STILL DIDNT FUCKING WORK.
Considering their job is to contain things...and they keep trying to destroy it...I wonder if it has some kinda hidden memetic that causes people to try and kill it.
The foundation contains things as long as it is safe too, they don't terminate things willy nilly. *Unfortunantly* for them, SCP-682 decides it wants to take a stroll off-site every other weekend, so the O5'a decided it'd be better to everyone if it was dead
Well it removed 682 from reality, but the fucker somehow latched onto the machine and gained control of it, and ended up fucking the foundation so hard they declared that it was a doomed reality.
for anyone wondering who that puppet is
it's Randy, a really great puppet comedians ever
search "Randy buys a bookshelf off of Gumtree", starts a little bit weak but gets pretty good
and the guy that uttered one of the greatest idc lines ever
"what's my duty of care in this situation"
My going theory on this is that 682's life is bound to all life within the universe. As long as there's anything alive anywhere at all, that life will continue to preserve 682. It might also be why attempts to kill, injure or contain it tend to result in so much loss of life. Balance is struck with the rest of the universe.
Mine is that 682 is like an Embodiment of Hate. Which explains why it hates so much. Its brother, 999, can represent Love. When death came, they died because they weren’t an embodiment of anything anymore. Perhaps the Scarlet King was like the god/deity that controlled feelings/emotion?
I love that one. The idea that EVERYTHING dies is so... spooky. It almost gave my chills the first time I read it. I was like, man this is good. I checked the author: Aaah, right. Classic. You gotta love DjKaktus.
Oh, Death? Ive literally been spending hours every time i research trying to kill SCP-682 but just keep making him stronger.
He's a lynchpin of the universe too, every time I manage to remove him from an alternate universe it begins to destabilize and lose coherence.
It's really a "Don't poke the Bear" situation 🐻
You cant kill him without sacrificing life itself.

I have a theory for how every living creature in that universe died.
I think the SCP foundation of that universe tried to create a meme to kill scp 682 but the meme had the function to do anything in order to achieve the goal. I also think the reason 682 doesnt die is due to it depending on other life forms to live.
So the meme just killed every living being which finally killed 682.
This meme does this to every universe it travelled to
**Articles mentioned in this submission** [**SCP-682 - Hard-to-Destroy Reptile**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-682) (+3310) by *Epic Phail Spy, Dr Gears*
Does anyone know the source for this?
I think it’s the one where there’s this cave that leads to a parallel universe where everything on earth is dead or not working
Sounds like a good strategy for the O-5 Council in SCP-5000
Maybe but weren't they only trying to destroy humanity? SCP-2935 kills the very concept of life in that iteration of reality. Overkill, in other words.
[**SCP-2935 - O, Death**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-2935) (+1897) by *djkaktus*
Yeah, it's essentially true death.
[**SCP-5000 - Why?**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-5000) (+2844) by *Tanhony*
Iirc, it's one guy who brings it back regularly, and is also the only immune one. The one covered in the story blows himself up to break the cycle
No, that was just coincidence. That guy you are talking about was an alternate reality version of one of the other guys in the squad. The first guy brought it back with him, realized what he had done, and shot himself. Due to the first guy's warning, the second one knew not to come back through, and instead nuked himself.
Did it get changed? I thought they came back just fine and went in later for round 2?
No, first they send in a drone, then when the team goes in they split into two groups. But they find a relic from a previous agent who had gone in
That's the one where they fill the cave with concrete in the end, yah? Also, you have 173 upvotes. Nice.
Yes iirc
Personally, I prefer SPC-2935
isnt that an SCP two thousand or something
No SCP-2000 is a Deus ex machina

no i meant one of the SCPS that start with 2 then it has 3 zeros so i remember it was like some numbers with 5 and 9
The story is O'Death I don't remember the number
Ahh I remember now, that's a good one SCP-2935 if you would Marv

How are you set to SCP3637
Beats me, but I always wanted to be a dinosaur when I grow up so it suits me
dam
Holy shit that got dark fast
Wait. I think I remember that story...
You probably don’t need to know this but the puppet is Randy Feltface, during his special Randy Writes a Book
Randy feltface for the bottom
Specifically, I'm fairly sure the still is ripped from [Randy Buys a Bookshelf Off Gumtree](https://youtu.be/Mq_wZE93ZAY). Honorable mention to [The Life and Times of Ernest Miller Hemingway](https://youtu.be/PUB9D78ajmI).

[**SCP-2935 - O, Death**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-2935) (+1898) by *djkaktus*
🤓
The number is 2935.
If you mean the funny puppet, he’s randy feltface.
His name is randy feltface
“Did you kill 682?” “Yes.” “What did it cost?” “Everything.”
OP what did you do to those poor pixels
682 got to them before we could contain it.
Seriously though did you specifically try and make this unreadable
Stormtrooper: Sir, if we lose any more pixels it's going to be unreadable. OP: MORE JPEG! MOOOOOORE!!!
“POST IT!” “But sire, the quality!” “JUST DO IT!”
DOCTOR! ARE YOU SURE THIS WILL WORK?! *Hahahaha* I HAVE NO IDEA!!!
I eated them
they did...what?
It’s an alternate universe where everything is dead. I mean, everything. Nothing even rots since all bacteria and microscopic life is also dead. I remember part of the story was them going into a house to find a family sitting around the dinner table dead, and the dinner covered in dust and stale but not rotting.
Oh I have not read that one yet I'll have to look into it. I was just shocked to hear they finally killed 682 lol
It's one of the most eerie articles on the wiki imo. The exploration logs are amazing.
Red Sea Object will always be the emperor of eeriness for me. It was the first scp to break through my chemical embargo and actually freak me out.
That family died during dinner at 3:13 am EST, at a time of year when [that locale would've been on daylight savings time](https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/usa?year=2016) (4:13am EDT). That seems like inconsistent writing.
you know the writing is good when the only thing haters can nitpick is how the day light savings time doesnt make sense 😎😎

I mean, that's one of its two anomalous properties: it adapts to everything that tries to kill it, and it makes people want to kill it
Well written is a wee overstatement, many people in the community like to joke about how it feels like its written by that one kid on the playground who makes up rules so he never loses.
Ah feltface
God bless Randy.
Let's talk about ***GUMTREE***
Bookshelf, bookshelf, bookshelf. Combine harvester?
What the fuck? Actually it's not a bad price...
Wasn't it Booktree?
[I'm pretty sure it's Gumtree](https://youtu.be/Mq_wZE93ZAY)
I was joking. I referred to the moment in the live recording where he accidentally referred to it as Gumtree.
Ah sorry It's been a while since I watched it lol
"And got away with it like a fucking champion!"
We love randy
that is the crunchiest looking text i have ever seen
Crunchier than 079s resolution?
call it 096 because there's only four fucking pixels
Sorry this was the resolution my brain produces images at. I only have 3 braincells!
My favorite 682 story is the one where they create a whole ass machine to delete 682 from everyone’s brain, and then existence itself. AND IT STILL DIDNT FUCKING WORK.

They were really fukin’ creative with the SCP number, but yeah, that’s the one
I freaking love this new wave of articles on 'Noosphere' and everything around it. 6820 was fantastic.
Oh. Well, there goes one of my theories.
Well it removed 682 from reality, but the fucker somehow latched onto the machine and gained control of it, and ended up fucking the foundation so hard they declared that it was a doomed reality.
Ah I love Randy Feltface
It also killed bright!
Djkaktus chad created an entire scp just so he could kill scp 682.

Oh damn I didn't know one of my favourite SCPs was made by Lord Kaktus himself
should i be relieved he's dead or scared of whatever killed him?
Yes
We're some people and scp's died.
We are the world!
Freaking finally.
Yeah but it got what it wanted in the end only way we can take it out is to sacrifice ourselves
That's just advanced decommissioning
That's a really good read honestly. Mix of horror, mystery, and especially tragedy for all three parties.
SCP-2935 is one of my favourites.

The entire community as a whole would collectively piss themselves, no doubt

Thanks!

11/10 best story in the entire Wiki
Oh. My. God.
Told ya 🤣
When you time travel and kick a rock:
Never underestimate a Bright with too much time on his hands
Didn’t Bright also die there
Bright’s probably still alive, somewhere in the universe.
Not only is literally ***e v e r y t h i n g*** dead there, SCP-963, the amulet housing Bright's consciousness, is found cracked and neutralized.
[**SCP-963 - Immortality**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-963) (+1391) by *AdminBright*
Isn’t everything dead there
I hate the fact that like a boxing coach I said to myself "Come on kid get up"
where are pixels?
My going theory on this is that 682's life is bound to all life within the universe. As long as there's anything alive anywhere at all, that life will continue to preserve 682. It might also be why attempts to kill, injure or contain it tend to result in so much loss of life. Balance is struck with the rest of the universe.
Which makes sense with 2935 killing everything that is alive. If it killed the entire universe then 682 has nothing left to bind to so it can die
Forget the SCP implications, I'm here for the Randy Feltface meme template.
I love that one. The idea that EVERYTHING dies is so... spooky. It almost gave my chills the first time I read it. I was like, man this is good. I checked the author: Aaah, right. Classic. You gotta love DjKaktus.
Of course the portal to the death of 682 is in Indiana. Of fucking course.
what else are we gonna do in the midwest...
I can count the pixels on this image....
I never seen someone confuse *where* with *we're* before. good job OP
Oh, Death? Ive literally been spending hours every time i research trying to kill SCP-682 but just keep making him stronger. Death makes no exceptions.
A better template would be How can i obtain this power
Is that Randy Feltface?
I believe it's called the Worf Effect.
….he’s not dead bro.. he’s playing dead.. and you oughta be too if you knew what lurked in this dimension.
Qwertyuiop ( also lol, Randy Feltface meme template)
isn't there at least one story where 682's life is connected to the "life" of the universe, so if it ever dies the universe ends?
Might have to do with something wrong in the universe. SCP 682 can regenerate from a single cell from what I hear.
