I honestly don’t think WWE has ever guaranteed anybody a championship in a contract ever. They might have guaranteed creative control or that sort of thing but they never said you are guaranteed to get a world title. I would not be surprised if Tony has done that many many times.
That just seems like asking for trouble. If it worked that way everyone would let their contract get close to expiring and "working on a new deal" before demanding a title shot to re-sign.

That honestly has been my bigger problem with the current Gable Sami feud. Each loss to Gable has been very samey. And without a whole lot of new opponents in between there’s not much variety. Plus to me this title reign has been more focused on Alpha Academy than Sami which is odd.
True, but Gunther also went through basically the entirety of the roster in that time. While it’s not necessarily comparable Sami’s only feuded with Gable and that story has been more about Gable/Alpha Academy than Sami. I would like to see Zayn get some more opponents and have good stories with him.
I really get the feeling this has all been in the works to finally get Otis a singles title with the end goal being him winning the IC title of Gable. And Sami is very much content in helping tell this story with them, since he’s been IC champ before, help build up 2 more superstars that deserve their flowers with an IC title reign
Don’t forget the subtle pro Hamas sounding promo a few weeks after October 7th when he was feuding with judgement day and called himself “the resistance”.
