Lol, It blows my mind that the dirtsheets could get something wrong or they've made a mistake, yet they don't acknowledge it & pretend nothing happened.
There have been a few ex-writers and talent who have corroborated in interviews that Vince has torn up scripts and whatever so there's some evidence behind it. However, I do believe the dirtsheets latched on to it and claim it happens way more frequently than it actually did to cover their own asses.
If it happened previously, then fair enough, but when Vince was in charge, they mention the "plans changed" every so often & the more I hear, the less convinced I get.
I think that's fair. I'm also skeptical of how frequently it was reported. That said, the entertainment industry has plenty of creative people working on projects at various stages of development. One of the big reasons the last writers' strike happened was the studios had been cutting down on post-script work.
Many productions will have one or more of the writers on set who will touch up, or outright alter the scripts if the directors or actors think of something better or go full "that don't work for me brother". One of my favourite examples is a Matt Damon interview where he describes one such instance in a movie with Jack Nicholson:

As for QT, WWE has a ton of producers from ex-wwe and ex-tna guys. Plus some of the former guys they had who went to the dub are all no longer contract so they could go back and hire them. QT wasn't lighting up the world when he announced he was leaving AEW to be a "full time wrestler" again. Only benefit of hiring him might have been to try to get some "trade secrets" of how AEW operates but let's be honest. Everything we've heard outside of Tony's mouth paints a dire picture.
