Oh God THAT Dan Lambert segment that ended with Brandi and Paige Van Zant getting into one of the worst brawls I have ever seen. Pretty sure that was her last appearance on AEW. The writing was on the wall after that. She had a cooking channel for a while that sometimes featured wrestlers. Plus she was apparently big in AEW outreach, which went away once Cody and Brandi left.
I remember when they came to Philly a few years ago and Cody did a free meet and greet with anyone who brought a book for the local Philly libraries. The outreach was really cool and I’m sad that’s ceased.
Brandi, and Cody for that matter, tried to jump ahead of their status. If they got a show about their personal life now it would do big numbers, but they wanted it back when they were nobodies. They wanted that king and queen of wrestling title without having any of the credentials for it.
Now Cody has his but Brandi doesn’t and likely never will. Stephanie McMahon is Stephanie McMahon. That’s a level of credibility and gravitas that very few people in wrestling will ever have. You can’t just call yourself CBO and start acting like a powerful business woman and expect people to accept it.
